Lucky Cafe

My wife and I were looking for some Chinese food for dinner. We have been ordering from this restaurant for over ten years. We had not had the chance to order since the pandemic, so we decided this would be a good time.

We called from the car and ordered General Tso’s chicken, extra spicey with four spring rolls. This dish had been our usual order, so we thought we would see if it had changed. Before, we always saw what we assumed to be the mother, the dad cooking, and her son taking orders. We watched him grow up. It will not surprise me if he is off to college. `We had to go to the Food Lion next door, so we did that before heading into the restaurant.

From the outside, it looked like the sign was maybe broken. You could not read the Lucky part. This might be something the landlord needs to fix. They used to have a very small seating area inside. We had always assumed that most of their business was takeout. I would imagine the pandemic made it, so they just went 100 percent takeout orders.. I do not fault them for that choice.

Our order was ready when we arrived. One this I have always appreciated about this location was its sanitation score. I have never seen anything lower than a 99, and usually, it’s a 100. It was the same this visit. Our food was what we remembers from the last time. The chicken was cooked well. The sauce was spiced to our liking. We spent $15 odd dollars and would do so again. We would, and do recommend this to other peopl.

We have been coming to lucky cafe for 10 years. Well actuality it's been longer than That. Every sense They open.We're even Were There one day when they had their Chinese New Year's day dinner. We ate with them. We got to eat more traditional stuff than They already have. But that's just the type of people they are. The food is always spot on and basically the same. So when you order someone have you can order it again and it tastes just as good. It's really one of those places you can tell somebody how good it is it when they go they say man you were right.Watching their kids grow up was pretty need to. Just got done eating in a little kids it used to sit and do their homework in the corner. Are very grown up mature and welcome you in. I think it's an awesome tradition. You must go. Put it on your I wanna go visit list.

Food was excellent!! Service was excellent!! It’s always a gamble when you’re visiting from out of town but they nailed it.

Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out. I’d say the prices are slightly higher than Chinese restaurants in Charlotte, but the food quality and taste is way better. Crab Rangoons are the best I’ve ever had. Pictured is the lunch beef & broccoli (few bites already taken there is way more beef than what it looks like).

The crab racoons are the best. Yes ik what I said. "crab rangoon". But that the only thing I get here I don't like the chicken to soft

I have long been a fan of chinese food. Ever since I was a small child my favorite dish was shrimp with lobster sauce.This is a dish if not done exactly right it's just very disappointing to have had paid for it. I have lived in this area for over 30 years and until I had this dish at the lucky cafe I just didn't remember what I had been missing. Perfection. All their food is great.

Usually the food is awesome, but today the sweet and sour chicken was hard to chew and small and crispy pieces. I didn't call them to complain because it was a first time thing. Today the food was delicious 😋 and 🔥

If you are looking for the best Chinese restaurant in Gastonia, you have found it! The food is always amazing! Cooked fresh and we always receive it hot. The staff is great! We love ordering our Chinese food here! Get a Family Meal. We always have enough food for leftovers. Best Chinese food!!

Out of all the surrounding places I've tried for Chinese, they have the best spring rolls! I always get General Tso's, and LC's version is very good. Their chicken is in smaller chunks than I'm used to, but it isn't overly sweet like another nearby restaurant's. Only thing that isn't my favorite here is the fried rice, but I reserve judgement until I've had it again just in case. Also they're open late on Sundays which is a huge plus. This is my new favorite local Chinese restaurant!
Edit: I've had Lucky Cafe again yesterday and it was the same thing with the rice. It came with peas and carrots but no egg or pork. I found myself frying my own egg in the rice to give it more flavor.

Very good food, Fast service. Super clean environment, I love eating inside. A lot of variety on their menu. I like how when you eat in they serve your food in TOGO containers so that you don't even have to ask for one. Also it is nice that you can choose your portion size. Highly recommend!

Does not disappoint, I've gone there twice because I was working nearby and ordered orange and general tso chicken with fried rice. Very delicious, food is not too sweet and not to plain, just right.

I've been going here since the day they opened years ago and I still love them! The owners are so nice and the food is amazing! My family eats here atleast once a week. Never been disappointed. I recommend them completely!

What makes one Chinese fast food restaurant different from another? I'm not exactly sure what it is...but there is a serious difference in the end product. I don't get quick Chinese anywhere other than Lucky Cafe now...they check all the boxes. Fast - check, friendly staff - check, reasonable price - check, great flavor - check.

Great food and friendly, prompt service. We order from here quite often. Prices are good, especially for the family meals. They do have seating available. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful Family run local business, food is constantly good and well seasoned. It's our "GO TO" Chinese restaurant. Give them a try, you'll be happy you did.
