Vilai's Thai Kitchen

Vilai's Thai Restaurant was a great hole in the wall spot to eat in Kitty Hawk. The food was very delicious and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had wonderful service as well!

Excellent food and nice ambiance. The staff was very friendly. Everything we ate was delicious. Steamed dumplings, papaya salad (we ordered it hot and it was!), vegetable Pad Thai and Shrimp red curry.

Absolutely delicious, we were so hungry we forgot photos of the food!

Ordered four meals for takeout at 6 PM on a Saturday night, we were packing up to leave for our Sunday check out. The food was ready in less than 25 minutes and was so so so good. The owner was happy and kind and it was overall a very pleasant experience.
We will definitely go back the next time we visit OBX!

SPICY goodness!! It was our first time here and it was delicious. Staff was very friendly and guided us through the spice levels. If you like hot this is your place!....if you like fresh and flavorful, this is your place! I went with Hot and it was a good blend but they still had two levels above that lol. Good luck. The Tom Yum soup was jam packed with chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, and an awesome broth. Great place!!

We are locals and just visited a few days ago and are already back again. The food is excellent and service is very attentive and kind! Don't miss this place!

Have to admit, I didn't have high expectations and I rarely ever post about an establishment unless I'm really amazed, but this small family restaurant superceded any expectations I would have for a Thai restaurant. Food and service was great! Wish I took pics, but I was so into my food lol.

Amazing place we go there all the time! Such a great place to sit and enjoy the rain or have a fancy date. Beautiful just beautiful and the food is absolutely fabulous best food on the beach!

If you want Thai on the OBX, THIS IS THE PLACE! Authentic and delicious. Ridiculous portions will leave you full. The prices are more than reasonable. Intimate dining...only a couple boths and a handful of tables. It is worth the wait! They will put the heat on to your specification.

This is a very cozy restaurant and the owners very hospitable and willing to accommodate diners for minor recipes variations. The portions are ample and you may be taking some food to go. Very satisfying.

One of the best Thai spots I’ve had in a while! Pad Thai was on point m, service was great and place is very clean. Just go here!

The food and service both are outstanding. If I ever visit OBXi will definitely be back there to eat.

I was very happy that this restaurant is open on Sundays. I got Chicken pad Thai takeout and it was very good. A lot of chicken actually. I will be returning.

This is authentic Thai food.
I ordered takeout for 4 and each item was outstanding. Everything from the Thai ice tea, springs rolls and entrees (Thai Basil, Pad Thai and Pad Seew) was definitely worth repeating.

Absolutely delicious! Had the pad ped chicken and got jasmine tea. Small quiet little place will definitely come again when in the area.

Found this place searching for vegetarian restaurants. They have a small vegetarian section but the food is awesome! We had the veggie spring rolls, Veggie Pad Thai, and Veggies with Tofu. Everything was fantastic! The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. This is a great place. We will be back!
They were busy and the service was a little slow, but we are on beach time and didn't care. We enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere.

We throughly enjoyed it(so did my family.) small space but good thai food. We definitely recommend any person to try this place and we would return again.

This is a wonderful restaurant! We got 4 different dishes and they were all delicious. The service was quick and attentive. We'll definitely go back!

This place is one of our favorite restaurants we love to go to and we are constantly cleaning on the beach . The owners are so accommodating to all their customers no matter the color me and my husband frequent here and we receive exceptional service and we are a interracial family. They do not discriminate against anyone. They are open arms to all!

The hot vilai wings are amazing! This place is a legit Thai food restaurant and I'm floored it's in the OBX. Flavors on the mark with great heat. Went here twice on my vaca and happy to support this small family business. Get the duck pho if on the special menu
