Wonderful, cozy campground with a family feel to it.

Last weekend my wife, daughter, and I camped out here, we had a blast. For one the location is quiet, with nice flat ground and plenty of shady areas. The bath house and outdoor showers were clean and more than adequate, washers and dryers are also available for one dollar a load.

The other campers were respectful and quiet. The owners/operators were very friendly and more than helpful. Needless to say, we will be returning.

They have hostel rooms available. My boyfriend and I stayed here as a cheap weekend trip. AMAZING DECISION. You have to share a bathroom and kitchen, but who goes on vacation and sits in their hotel room? Exactly. The rooms had two sets of bunk beds. One bunk had a larger bed on bottom. Everything was very clean (I am so picky) with definite signs of wear. If you are looking for a great way to save some money in the outter banks this is the way to go. Also the hosts were soooo nice. I asked so many questions, and they were always very helpful. The bathroom was nice with a new clean shower. The entire room had no TV. Just so you are aware. :) Hope you enjoy your stay!

Great location, minutes away from the beach. The grounds themselves are well keep and complete with showers, sinks, and flush toilets. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The one downside is that the campgrounds are near the road and there is a very talkative peacock that lives on site, so it can be noisy at times.

My husband and I only stayed one night for camping, bit it was the best. We has so many spots to choose from we camped near the peacock. Sadly I didnt get his name so i called him Skittles. The bath house was clean and spacious. The grounds are well kept. We are definitely coming back.

It is very much like myself...old, homely and comfortable.
My 2 nights in the hostel were pleasant.
It was stocked with everything necessary for a short or long stay.
The room was clean and quiet.

Stayed here overnight while attending a wedding in the area. Rustic, but otherwise clean with a very friendly and helpful host staff. This was our first hostel experience and one that we look forward to repeating. Especially in the spring and fall, cause if I know anything about Nags Head I bet the bugs can pick you up and carry you away in the dead of summer. Thanks to the staff, it was enjoyable!

It does what it says on the box! For anyone complaining of noise, or bugs, what do you really expect when you're car camping in the Outer banks (sorry - I wrote this review for Tripadvisor also, where people were pretty whiny)? Some days I can barely sit on the beach in Duck or Corolla without being attacked by swarms of biting flies. That doesn't mean I will never return to that beach though. If you want peace and quiet and a lovely campsite near water, go to the Eastern Shore or somewhere similarly more suited to camping (and still complain of ticks, mosquitoes, etc).

Great location, just a couple of miles off the main road in Kitty Hawk, so you can get takeaway from Black Pelican after you pickup your evening drinks from a Brew Thru (if that's your thing). The staff were very nice an helpful, the camping space was clean and open, and everyone near our tent was relatively quiet and respectful. We brought both our dogs, and there seemed to be a few others with dogs as well.

A little bit pricey, especially for what it is I would expect more in the $15-20/night range, but still better than a hotel room.

I would recommend this place to anyone who actually knows what to expect from car camping; if you don't have any experience in this, and aren't willing to sacrifice creature comforts to save some money, you're probably better off in a cheap motel. Otherwise, this is a nice little spot to spend the night.

My wife, daughter, grandson, & I just came back from Adventure Bound Campground after spending 4 nights there. Pertaining to the other reviews I had no problem with this place. The peacocks (my grandson called them pecan) were penned up the entire time we were there. They squawked occasionally but they weren't bothersome. We planted our tent in the woods near their pen and my grandson went several times to look at them. When we arrived, luckily for us (yeah, right) it was pouring the rain for about 2 hours and we set-up our tent during this rain. My wife found several puddles of water in the tent during this process but was promptly soaked up by towels we brought. I searched the campground and found a very large visqueen (plastic sheeting) and put it over our entire tent and the tent stayed dry during our visit. I was able to recharge my cell phone and ecigs in the office. There were many picnic tables available for our use and we used three. The bath house was sufficient and very useful. One day the cleaning woman stayed quite a long time cleaning it, telling me she had to mop the floor of the mens side 5 times to get it clean. The tent area in the woods was accessible by crossing a muddy driveway for someone who lived in the back of the campground and that mud got on the mens side of the bath house. A soap dispenser with paper towels to dry the hands would be nice in the bath house. Oddly there was no light switch in the bathrooms so the lights stayed on all the time. There are washers & dryers for your use if needed. I liked the fact that this camprgound was tent only. I also liked the fact that this campground was close to everything you needed in the Outer Banks. This area is not in a quiet residential area. Heavy duty trucks could be heard early in the morning but it wasn't bothersome to me. I would definitely stay here again if in the area but I probably won't ever go back to the Outer Banks, just isn't my thing. Been there, done that.

I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and had a great experience. Prices are reasonable and Joe who works on staff was very helpful. Although the previous review warned about how busy and packed they can get on holiday weekends, I had a great experience and would recommend this campground for budget travelers like myself.

Great for tents, yea there are roads close by but it's family friendly and the staff is very nice. One cool part is you can just pitch your tent just about anywhere on the property, I set up in the back, less people.

Me and my dad found this campground in Spring Break 2016. It was quite adequate, given the other campgrounds in the area were closed to tents. The bathhouses are helpful

My brother used to live there. He liked it a lot.
I think they have brand new owners as of July 1st, 2019.

Clean bath house. Grill and picnic table at every site. Big open field though so only a few spots with shade.
