We saw the reviews before walking in on a whim around 5pm on a Saturday. We got seated immediately and our waitress was so nice.

She helped answer all our questions, and when I showed her pictures from Google Review, she knew exactly what I was wanting to try along with great recommendations. Our experience was fantastic beginning to end. Highly recommend.

Always love this place for the sushi. But I got the steak teriyaki a few weeks ago and I was blown away. Meat was cooked to perfection! Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Great wine list too!

First time and so sad that I have never gone before.. The adult beverage, sushi, and shrimp fried rice was amazing. And the prices was also great for the quality of food.. Can’t wait to go back when i visit home again.

Beautiful place as you walk in. We were seated fairly quick. Friendly and knowledgeable server. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly done. Sushi was delicious and the house fried rice is amazing .

On our way to Asheville for a family trip, took a 20 minute detour to come to this lil gem. Absolutely amazing, service stellar, pacing absolutely perfect and then the food was delicious not to mention presentation was beautiful. Definitely swing by and grab some wonderful food!!! ❤❤

The best sushi in the Asheville area. I have tried quite a lot of the sushi the area had to offer and was not satisfied. This place was perfect. The service, the atmosphere, the food. I even tried the dumpling soup for the first time and I fell in love. I recommend this place for sushi lovers.

I LOVE it here! Good food, good service, good atmosphere, and just overall perfect for a girls' night or dinner date. My friend and I enjoyed several bottles of cold saki, an appetizer, and our own individual meals. We split the bill and paid less than $50 (minus tip) a piece. Everything tasted clean and fresh. Umi is also super convenient if you want to walk downtown afterward or go grab dessert somewhere else close by. Another thing, which, I'm not sure if it's encouraged or not, but I've also seen others dine at the outside tables with their doggos. Side note, if you're closing on a home at Staton Law Firm (real estate attorney) across the street, Umi makes for the perfect celebratory lunch or early dinner! 😉 Anywho, we will definitely be back!

First time here, and it's definitely one of the best sushi joints near Asheville. Good sake, miso soup, volcano roll, dynamite roll, tiger roll. I would highly recommend. Thank you for the amazing rolls. We'll meet again!

Always our first choice for local sushi! The staff is just amazing. Sitting outside on a beautiful day, is a must! Everything I have ever had here is scrumptious. Some of my favs are the Squid Salad, Spicy Crab Salad (not spicy), Dumpling Soup, Sunflower Roll, Superman Roll. Side note for moms, no baby changing station available.

Food is good. My favorite is the bento lunch specials. You get a salad or miso soup plus your bento box. Chicken katsu is always delicious. Took sushi to go and it was fresh and yummy as well.

This was a great place. Affordable price and definitely worth it. Didn't wait long for food either. Can't wait to go back and try their sushi. My friend highly recommends it!!!

Passing by and decided to eat here. It was crowded on a Saturday lunch time but wait was not long and we got seated . The staff were busy but got our orders fast. I love my sashimi. Price is reasonable. Food were delicious and served hot.

One of the best sushi restaurants that we have been to also, the service is excellent, and the dirty martinis are the best.

Love this place for family celebrations and date nights. We love to eat at the sushi bar during lunch and watch the chefs. It's so fun to watch them. Food is delicious. Superman roll is our favorite. Followed by the Godzilla Roll. Always amazing service and food.

We had dinner bento box B, golden dragon sushi roll, and a rainbow roll. All of it was fresh and delicious. Our server Ryan was very attentive. The parking lot was full, but we found free parking across the street in front of the Bank of America.

It always has a nice environment to be able to sit down and have a nice comforting meal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice, somewhat quiet restaurant to have a meal with family.

Our first time here, we will definitely be back. Excellent sushi, beautiful venue, outside dining on a lovely day with great family and friends.

Amazing place. Have enjoyed coming here since it opened. They’ve been incredibly consistent for all this time. We come a few times a year, and it’s always worth the trip.

Food was very good. Only reason why they don't get 5 starts on food is that the beef was a little fatty in the bento box I ordered. All other food was very good. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is nice, but a bit noisy.
