This place is so frickin cute! I stopped in on a whim. I honestly spent over an hour in there looking at their super diversified collection of yarn and chatting with the ladies chilling at the table in the back. They were HILARIOUS and so welcoming!! They had such great advice and told me all about the different yarn/crafting events in the state (I’m new to the area). I’m already saving up for my next drive through the area hahaha I cannot wait to go back!

This shop is so well-run, friendly, and has what you need in stock! I was looking for 16" circular knitting needles in a few sizes, and all the other local shops were sold out (I guess baking bread is out and knitting is in for the new quarantine hobby!) but Hillsborough Yarn Shop had what I needed in stock, in a variety of brands and styles, with a wide price range. Even though they are not really set up as an online shop, they provided impeccable service, with rapid-fire responses to my inquiries, and got my order shipped out the same day. I 100% recommend them, and I can't wait to visit the shop in-person.

So friendly and helpful! Meant to check it over earlier this year and maybe take a class, then COVID happened. When I needed yarn for Christmas gift, I placed my order online and Anne took the time to pull yarn off the shelf and send me a picture with color options! Since moving to the area I’ve missed having a local yarn shop, and I’m so excited to take classes when they’re fully open again!

This is a superb store for knitters of all levels. The selection of yarn is wide and beautiful but what elevates it beyond most other stores are the people. Anne and Julia (and others) are always welcoming and happy to give advice. When I push myself to try a harder pattern, I know I can always come in for help. It is given with an appreciation of my confusion and a determination to figure out how to help me. This attitude encourages me not to be afraid to try new things. Classes I have taken there have been great, and you meet the nicest people when you come in and knit in the store!

They have a nice mix of workhorse and "special" yarns. The women who work there are kind and helpful. After coming in only a few times, they knew me by face and project (if not by name!). The prices are about what I expect. There are some nice chairs for sitting and working on a project in the shop. They also have a rewards program and send a coupon for your birthday.

Owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. Nice selection of yarn weights and fibers, plus tools and book and extras. We’re lucky to have such a great yarn shop in Hillsborough!

My daughter, who lives 800 miles away, sent me four beautiful skeins of yarn. I decided I would like to use it to knit a wrap or a shawl for her but needed help with figuring out what I could make. I live an hour from the store so I called to ask if someone there could help me before I made the drive. Julia was wonderful! Even though the store is closed to foot traffic, she helped me find a pattern suited to my knitting level that will work with the yarn I have and is a free download from Ravelry. In addition, she sent me directions for how to work the skeins into a ball. She did not earn a penny for all her cheerful help, but she now has a new customer who is happy to drive to the store!

As a new knitter, this shop is a wonderful find. Hands on help, some terrific advise and teaching PLUS the option to drop by and knit with others.
After advise and guidance fro Julia, I purchased a beautiful multicolored dyed yarn. The lovely yarn is fast a pair of fingerless hand warmers ❤

The yarn selection was varied from luxury to commonplace with something that should fit just about anyone's needs with to find companies like The Fiber Co. to "average Joe" Cascade. Many (many!) well tagged (with pattern name and yarn and needle(s) used) shop samples including sweaters, hats, shawls, fingerless mitts, and more.

The staff member was friendly and helpful while juggling several customers at once.

A lot of different types of yarns and weight depending on what you are making in knit or crochet, mind blown with all the ideas that come to mind when you enter. Wools, silk blends, and others, Prices vary but for the knitters and crocheters would know this in the pricing.

Best folks in the WORLD! Selection is incredible with inventory handled like a shoe store—samples out front, plenty more stocked in the back. Anne and Julia are always helpful and the classes are great too. Best in the Triangle!

Wonderful location in Hillsborough with a beautiful selection of yarn colors and diverse fibers. Kind and helpful staff that is open and willing to help with project thoughts and questions. Always a great shop conversation going on!

I always feel welcome when going into the shop. Ann and Julia are always willing to help me think through a pattern and give me ideas. I love doing color work with Jamieson's Spindrift and they ate always willing to order new colors for projects I'm trying.

The ladies in this yarn shop are knitting experts and the most friendly helpful folks I know. You are always greeted when entering the store and offered assistance. They are simply wonderful. You should visit if you have not...and if you have, visit again!

This is a wonderful local yarn shop with a nice variety of yarn and accessories. They are super helpful and will wind your yarn into balls before you go. They offer classes and help if you want to just go hang out and work on your latest project.

Amazing yarn, such knowledgeable and helpful staff, and set up right in downtown Hillsborough. I have since moved from the area but wish I were closer so that I could continue to enjoy such a delightful shop!
