Kudos to the Gatlinburg Police Department for returning my lost wallet in Smokey couple weeks ago. Department phone operator in charge and Officer Brown sent the wallet with my DL, credit cards and $170 (all in tact) to my mailing address. Will visit again and thank all staff members in person. A true SERVE and PROTECT mission at work.
A BIG THANK YOU!!

The police officer who called today put me at ease. I have harassers that have followed me for three years and they are here. They participate in antics for entrapment. He advised that they would call me if they received any reports attached to me. This made me feel much better as the antics are to entrap me and these people slander my name to spread hate by taking recordings of my voice and lying to people to use them to harass me. These people will say anything. I have proof. Thank you officer for making me feel at ease. I will continue to document their antics to ensure I am not who they say I am.

My car broke down in traffic and Officer Green helped pushed my car out of the roadway, and offered a hand at seeing what was wrong with the vehicle. Thank you Gatlinburg Police Department for all you do!

Got into a pinch locking my keys in my vehicle. Unlike many departments these days they came out and after obtaining consent, got me in. Officers and dispatcher were very professional and friendly. Thank you for the help!

The police prey on tourists and locals because they get away with it, all for Revenue. Petty stops are profitable for the Gatlinburg police. Bad manners, puffy chested authoritarian bully attitudes. They know you will just pay the fine instead of driving back from another state to go to court. $113.00 for not using a blinker at 441 & 321 where it gets nutty and I'm from out of town, it's raining, and its 10pm. It's not the cops against the citizens....we are not the enemy. No way to develope good will n rapport.

I watched a video of man here preaching the gospel cops arrived and told him he was going to have to keep his voice down? The first amendment gives us the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion! News flash your ordinances cannot deny our rights! Shame on this city and the officers that silenced this man!

Dispatch was friendly but the officer who came out to assist me was not. He called his lieutenant for a 2nd opinion because he didnt believe the full grown bear that slammed into the side of my car did that much damage. Needless to say the lieutenant was not nice either and threatened us with a felony when we tried to argue down that the damage wasnt already there prior to the incident with the bear. The office then tried to talk me out of filing a report for my insurance which now I'm glad I didnt listen to him and filed anyways because my insurance is covering the cost to fix while the cop tried to say they wouldnt.

The rudest bunch of cops I have ever come into contact with. They refused to allow me to call AAA to have my car towed with two flat tires and they towed my car to the police impound lot which now I have to pay to get out. They arrested my daughter who was broken down with the car on a side street which was not interfering with traffic. They arrested her for DUI and she was NOT drunk. She had just gotten off work and drove two miles when both tires on the passenger side went flat. She was upset, crying, exhausted from working all day and in pain.

I was there on vacation and apparently ran a red light (I'm not convinced I did). The police officer C. Phillips pulled me over and was yelling at me, taunting me and ridiculing me in front of everyone on the street. I was very respectful and told him I had no idea what I've done to make him so upset with me. He then told me I ran a red light. I explained to him that I had no idea. I wasn't from the area and was busy looking for roads, pedestrians, cars...etc and I must have missed the light. He was yelling at me and told me I shouldn't be driving. He accused me of running it on purpose and avoiding pulling over, neither of which I had done. He never put his siren on and I didn't notice his lights behind me for about 50 yards or so. We are a military family and respectful of law enforcement. The amount of unprofessionalism and anger officer C. Phillips showed me was completely uncalled for and an abuse of authority! SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! He had me in tears and ruined my trip.

I've never had a problem with police or any authority figure before but this THESE PEOPLE STRAIGHT PREY ON TOURISTS! After being pulled over for speeding I was like okay I should have paid attention an then not 5 minutes after pulling off a local comes flying past us at like 70 an the cop didn't even act like they were going to pull them over. This place has such a horrible police department I'll make sure to never come back again.

Called to report people fighting and yelling about drugs outside my motel room the dispatcher/officer on the line the 2nd time I called bc no-one showed up after 45 mins after my first call after he laughed said "I don't know what you want us to do about it, people can do whatever they want outside their room. But I'll pass the word along." I'm sure he did......I thought their duty was to serve and protect not you call and we reject. The police chief should really evaluate his night shift and give serious consideration to making changes.
