It's a nice park with disc golf, play grounds, and a fishing dock (which is high and dry). There isn't a lot of shade but there is some.
Nice kayak beach launch also but if you have wheel it would be helpful.

This is a nice park operated by the City of Smithville. It features an RV park with RV dump station and bathrooms; a rodeo arena; baseball fields; performance stage; pavillon; vendor stalls and even an 18 hole disc golf course. There a number of events held in the park each year. It is a nice stop between Houston and Austin. More than that, it can be a place to use as a base for exploring the area.

Nice, quiet, clean Park. On the exterior of the bathroom wall there's a map detailing the walking path if you're out here to get some exercise. There's also a disc golf course and of course you can go down and fish in the Colorado. When I was there recently it was still flooded on the walkout part of the river.

Nice disk golf course in the park and facilities like bathrooms were open for use. The playground was big and there were large shade trees all over.

Just took my family camping at Riverbend and it was fantastic. We used a tent and snagged site number 4, it was very well maintained and quiet. There was water, electric, an outdoor grill and a picnic table. The restrooms and showers were very clean. My husband took the kiddos fishing off the dock and then over to the playscape. It was an all around good time. Definitely recommend this park to anyone needing a well maintained, quiet place to camp!

Thanks to the Smithville Police. I bicycled here from Key West, FL and call the number, they dispatched an officer to take my $20 for the campsite. The showers were warm and the camp was clean. This place is about a day ride out of Austin on the Southern Tier bicycle route going coast to coast. You will feel the warm embrace of Texas here!

A gem of a campground. Very nice and inexpensive campground. 19 sites with 3 pull through. Clean bath and showers. Electric and water hookups. RV dump station at exit. Very peaceful and quiet.

Great park on the Colorado River in Smithville, Texas. Smithville is the home of “Hope Floats”the movie.

The Park is large and even has RV camping, you can call the City of Smithville to reserve. Also has disc golf.

Each year Smithville holds a large 3 day music jamboree and carnival. But don’t wait for then to come, visit anytime. Kids will enjoy the great playground.

A fun, small park with lots to do. They have a playground, baseball field, disc golf course and river access. We go there to play on the playground and play Pokemon Go. The tree with the eagle and American flag is so beautiful - a must see if you visit this park.

Great campground. Quiet, beautiful, and good spacing. Needs hike & bike trail to town (highway a bit scary). A connector trail to Rocky Hill MTB park would be a nice addition, too. WiFi would be nice, too, but not so critical now that mobile is good.
