La Cabana

That was amazing food! On the way to Austin from Huston. Had quail 2 with rice and salad with onion and tomato finally 3 tortillas. Its good food quail was so crispy. It’s a bird 🦅 for sure one should try it. Never expected this on the remote way where no restaurant found.

Stopped in for some dinner on our way to Houston. Excellent roadside cantina and Tex-mex spot.

Flavorful table salsa with a good texture. Plentiful and tasty chips to go with it. Tried the Chile con Queso, which was excellent. Loved having the jalapeños on the side to add more heat when you want it.

I had the Cancun plate to try out a variety. Loved the taco meat. Good guacamole. The refried beans were chunkier than I like but the flavor was very good. Cheese Enchiladas were solid with a good meat sauce.

My wife had the Chicken Cabana Taco, which ended up being a single large soft taco that used a unique fried bread like I see on tortas. It was a little heavy but very flavorful. The filling though was outstanding. Fajita chicken and veggies in a excellent cheese sauce. It felt like a signature dish and tasted like the chef really put some work into it. Recommended.

Friendly and attentive staff all around really topped off the visit.

Traditional Mexican food restaurant. Whether in a hurry or staying a while this is a great place to stop.

Wow!!!! Can I give this place 6 stars?!?! The. Best. Ever. I dream of ha ing Mexican food this good. And Rosa is the nicest server.

The food was absolutely delicious. Their margaritas were really good. The service was excellent to and they very attentive to us. In the process were reasonable. This is my second time to go there and we have really enjoyed it both times. Every time we go up to Smithville we will definitely stop and eat absolutely.

The service was excellent! And the food is delicious. The younger lady at the front desk (the one with the highlights. I didn't get her name) is very nice. I went there for the for the first time and thanks to her I got an excellent impression from this place and their great customer service. They treat military members nice. I will be back soon.

Extremely polite and timely service. The food was plentiful and tasty. The extra birthday celebration was well done and entertaining.

Delicious food. Clean environment they accommodated myself, family, and friends (large group) without issue. PPMore importantly, they treated us as valued customers, instead of an Annoyance

Food is good and friendly service

I love the El gringo their shrimp brochette is the best side to their fajitas. Only thing I'd like to see is peppers in their fajitas. But, I will continue to eat here.

This is my Go-to place. They know me and ask (just in case) “ Chile, Renello, shredded chicken?” I always grin and say YES!

I eat in and take my own to go box cuz I know I’ll take half home; and it’s easy and environmentally friendly. I love this perfectly imperfect place and the service is generally fast and the place isn’t swamped if you go a little before or after rush hour.

Best salsa and chips. Also beans and sauces over the renello are to die for.

Awesome food and awesome service

This is a place I've been going to for years and it's very nice to just go with the family and the food is good! While I haven't tried much I know that what I did get was very worth the amount.

Food was fantastic. Was a little worried being off the hwy and near Smithville. But it was super delicious. Service was fantastic.

It was good, we always go to this place when we camp at our campsite! They weren't on point this last time but I'm still giving 5 stars because 1 hiccup shouldn't dismiss all the other good times there! Nothing is perfect but place is good and I'd give it a shot if you happen to be around there!

Great food and atmosphere

The cheese enchiladas were good, didn't care for the tacos. That was really all I had other than chips and salsa, which were also good. My 96 year old mother loved the cheese enchiladas, said they were the best she'd ever had. They were good. I'll go back when I'm in Smithville.

Great food, good atmosphere and plenty of room. I particularly like the spinach dip with chicken appetizer, I could eat it itself. Also love the Aztec plate, I get it a lot and it's always consistent. Buffet never lingers.

Everyone on staff is always welcoming and accommodating. Food is consistently very good.
