Fat Cat Lounge and Cafe

The atmosphere is so cool! The music was fantastic! We had spicy edamame for appetizer and it was DELICIOUS!! We had the Portabella Pizza and so good! The ranch dressing on my salad was delicious!! You absolutely have to try the homemade mozzarella sticks. Delicious!

Great spot. Tonight is open mic night, all kinds of musicians, poets, and great food.. such an amazing culinary experience.

Tonight I'm having the Whiskey Glazed burger with blue cheese and added jalapeños.

We love their burgers. The atmosphere was much nicer this visit as the lights were turned down. Lucky this evening as a band was playing. Great Blues! Brought some family and they loved the burgers as well! Chose to upgrade the patty - wagu/grainfed? I got the tuna this time for something lighter - very good. Huge wine list with amazing prices. Will be a regular visit.

This place is awesome. Definitely small town friendly feel. The Staff is friendly and helpful and the food is great. Love how they are involved in the community too.

Great lunch as a meetup of friends from Houston and Austin. Staff is attentive, friendly, and has a great knowledge of food and wine. Portions are big, but save room for dessert!

Excellent selection of wines, with awesome knowledge about them as well. All of the food was farm-fresh and amazing.

Eclectic vibe with live music and a great wine selection. Stopped in for lunch with Stu and haven’t stopped thinking about the lunch.

From the excellent location to the extensive wine list, this restaurant is a gem in Smithville. The building is a historic downtown, red brick merchant space that has been decorated with eclectic taste. Local artisans have jewelry and art treasures for sale. The food is homemade, and they have a great music scene. Open mic on Thursdays! Very friendly staff and ownership. You can tell that they all enjoy their job and are proud of this venue. This is totally worth the trip. The wine selection really is impressive. Looking forward to visiting the Fat Cat Lounge and Café again soon.

Highly recommend dining here. The food is freshly made, well seasoned, and filled with flavor. Presentation is 1st class. Price is affordable. Family owned and operated.

I had a great time! 4 course meal and a great play to watch called the Puzzler. Very memorable, thank you for a fun night.

We had a great time eating at Fat Cats! We were on a road trip and wanted to have an evening to relax just the two of us and this was a perfect choice. The staff was friendly, small town atmosphere. They joked with us and put up with all our questions and were helpful helping us decide what to order. The dishes are unique creations by the owner and everything we ate was delicious. We'll have to find another excuse to stop through Smithville again soon!

PS we did spend a lot because the goofy very friendly server/GM was a very good salesman and convinced us to take an extra bottle of wine home. Worth it!

Sat at the bar and had a wonderful time chatting about the business. AMAZING wine list including local wineries. Several good beers on tap too. We were gifted the most delicious apple fritter dessert for our anniversary. They sell bottles of wine to go too. Great spot to eat and drink!

Laid back ambiance, farm-to-table cuisine, friendly service, small town cafe that is under the radar and over the top! Worth a drive from Austin on a Saturday afternoon.

Wow. A hidden gem of Smithville. The food is AMAZING. Best gazpacho I've ever had. Super chill vibe, great food, great wine, great music, great people. This needs to be on your must do list when you visit Smithville.

Staff was super nice and welcoming! Great dinner with farm fresh veggies. And delicious bread pudding. We'll definitely be coming back to try brunch as well!

The food and service was amazing! Everything tasted so fresh and the twice baked potato salad was so creative! Plus the building is beautiful. Definitely want to come back and hear some of the live music.
