David's Barbecue

🍖 David's Barbecue in Pantego, TX is an experience! The memorabilia all through-out the store, the friendly and chatty staff when you order, the packed plate of barbecue when you order, and the old school style diner - this place is definitely one to visit. This family owned business has been serving barbecue since 1910, and they are a staple in our community - I'm glad it was recommended to me by our church staff group as we visited for a lunch.

Food: I ordered their turkey sandwich with coleslaw and beans, and a side of fries. Everything was delicious. I was a bit jealous of those that ordered the brisket and sausage sandwiches, so I'll have to come back to try those. They also serve free ice cream which is a treat not just for the kids.

Service: I appreciate the staff who was ready to serve. It was a surprise to me to see the owner the one taking down the orders and dishing out the meat. It was good getting to have a short conversation while going through the line. At checkout, the staff was helpful to point me to the condiments and extras, as well as the ice cream machine for dessert.

Atmosphere: Like I said, it's an experience. The sights and sounds, the feel of the restaurant - it comes off as very homey with a lot of history to it. I see why it's been a community staple all these years.

Referred by more than one person to come here. Was here last year and it feels.like they got even better! Ribs are amazing, the brisket and sausage also amazing! If you want good TX BBQ from a place that's been around forever, come here!

Best barbeque I've ever had. They've been doing it a long time (since 1910) and it shows. Absolutely delicious and great atmosphere for checking down. Plenty of food comes with each meal too ! Definitely try the ribs too.

The staff was friendly, service was quick, and it was easy to park. Dig in and enjoy.

The atmosphere and food was off the charts. When you think of “back home” this is definitely the place to go. If we ever come back to Arlington, we will 100% be back! You all rock!

I saw on the Facebook group Arlington Talks that this place was highly recommended so I tried it. Everyone is right! I had the chopped beef sandwich, potato salad and okra. Everything was amazing. Service was exceptional! They greet you with a smile like they are genuinely happy that you came in. The nice lady at check out was very personable. I will be going back for sure!

To me, David’s Barbecue is the best anywhere. My nephew and I were there recently and heard a man at another table say he lived about 30 mi. away, but the BBQ was so good and the portions so unbelievably generous, he was going to come back, in spite of not living anywhere nearby.

My nephew and I just smiled and told the man, “It’s always that way.”

Okay, I found my favorite barbecue joint close to my house.

This place was really friendly and the food was amazing. I was there around 3:00 on a Thursday afternoon and the place was not crowded at all. Everyone who was working there was really friendly and when I told him I was there for the first time they walked me through the process

Basically get in line out to the right look at the menu. Figure out if you want a dinner plate option or specific cuts. I went for a two meats plate that was turkey and pork ribs

Then you move on to the side section where you can pick up either. Coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad and some extra barbecue sauce. Additionally, if you're looking for things like fried okra or if you're in the mood for french fries or even onion rings, you can request that and they will bring it out to your table.

The place is oh it's been around for a while and the decor shows it but it was comfortable. It was clean and it was an authentic Texas BBQ experience.

I grabbed a soda fountain drink, and got busy with the plate in front of me. The pork ribs were amazing. I am definitely going to be ordering this again. The turkey was thinly sliced and was really good. I just wish I had another couple of slices of bread to make a sandwich out of it. The coleslaw and the baked beans were great. No disappointment there.

So the okra and the onion rings were wonderful. It was just so filling I couldn't finish them so I brought the rest home.

Now let me share that you can actually get ice cream at this place So I grabbed a cone and have some soft serve ice cream after the meal

The whole team there was amazing. Jesse behind the counter was awesome, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Diane at the register was very friendly and it was nice to talk with her. Other members of the family came out and I really do appreciate that. That was really nice that they were very friendly and helpful to other customers, not just me.

I absolutely recommend this place. Would I go back again? Absolutely.

Next time you're in the pantego area, please stop by. It is awesome, I'm telling you it is great barbecue.

Classic, family owned, Texas-style BBQ restaurant with friendly staff and celebrity-signed photos on the wall. The smoked turkey is so tender and moist, it’s like butter.

Me and my son went there last week for the first time. We both had a two meat plate. I had ribs and iced beef and so did my son. I had potato salad and baked beans, my son had potato salad and fries. We both has banana pudding and Sweet Tea. This place was outstanding there food was wonderful We would definitely be back soon. I LOVE THIS PLACE

We had brisket, sausage and Turkey and really enjoyed the first 2 but the Turkey was sliced rather then chunks so that was different and just didn't capture as much of the smoked flavor. The onion rings were great and the fries are the fresh cut potato style. They make them fresh and bring 'em to the table. Very generous serving sizes and the price is amazing. The staff are all very friendly. We will be back for sure.

David's is a fantastic traditional Texas BBQ joint. This is an established bbq that has been going for a long time and isn't about the latest pitmaster making expensive craft brisket trying to emulate Franklin BBQ. The owner greeted us at the line and talked us through the selections. We chose the a sliced brisket plate and a rib plate. The portions are gigantic. The brisket was fantastic. It was moist and flavorful and had smoke flavor that was not overpowering. The ribs were great. They tasted very good without sauce and were perfectly tender without disintegrating off the bone. The sides were all very good and I like that they offer cheese slices as one of the sides. I didn't even know I wanted cheese as a side at a bbq but it really went well with the meal. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend David's.

Out of every single barbecue place I've had in DFW. This one is by far my favorite. They cook the brisket and smoked turkey to perfection. My manager at my job didn't believe me when I told him it would be the best turkey he ever had. He put his hat down after he tried it to me. If you haven't ate here yet try their brisket and turkey combo with their beans and potato salad you will be in heaven!

David's barbecue is wonderful. Any time I want a chopped brisket sandwich, I come to David's because they seem to be the only place that does it right - and you get a LOT of it. The okra and cane sugar root beer are also fantastic, and you can get unlimited pickles! Finally, you can get free ice cream - and who doesn't love that?

Aside from the food, the service is phenomenal. It seems like they only have one set of staff because every time I go in there, the exact same people are chopping my brisket, cashing me out, bussing my table, etc - and they are all wonderful, kind and helpful humans. They'll make you feel like they've known you for years.

Anyway, if you're in/around Pantego/Arlington and looking for classic barbecue, I highly recommend David's.

4th Generation family owned and operated BBQ restaurant in Texas. The meat is amazing, tender, and smoky. I had the brisket beef sandwich and of course since we were with a friend we tried most everything.

The beef brisket was out of this world. The BBQ sauce was tangy take on a traditional tomato BBQ sauce. Not too sweet and not to savory.

The onion rings are so crispy with a light batter similar to a tempura batter. I highly recommend the onion rings.
I enjoyed the potato salad and beans. The fried okra was also outstanding.

I highly recommend that you check this place out to experience wonderful BBQ and a quirky atmosphere.

Unbelievable experience, unmatched food, and the most family inclusive offering in Pantego. Been a customer for nearly 30 years and have never had a bad experience. Turkey, sausage, brisket, ribs, ham.... choose them all. You can't go wrong. Best okra, fries, and onion ring you will ever find.

Great place to get BBQ, the food is always top notch. I usually get the 3 meat dinner, with 2 sides. I've never been disappointed, you get a good amount of food for the money. I've only used the drive thru, so don't know about the atmosphere, but it looks nice from the outside.

Had the two meat plate. Generous servings. The ribs were super tender and the brisket was pretty good. I like that you can serve the sides yourself unless it fried. I got the okra and it was good as well. This place is what a BBQ place should be. What all BBQ places should strive for. People were very friendly and made you feel appreciated. Soft serve ice cream is included. It’s a BBQ joint and I loved it.

First time and won't be our last. Brisket and Ribs were tender, delicious with large portions. Sides were equally good, Staff was very friendly and excellent. Highly recommend.
