What a fantastic New Years Eve!!! Impeccable service. Everyone's meal was outstanding, especially the duck, which was crazy delicious! The live music was also phenomenal. They had a wonderful piano player and later in evening was a fantastic jazz band. We danced the night away. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!!!

A friend and I just finished doing the Macedonia Brook Loop Trail (highly recommend!) and we were ravenous with hunger! We totally lost track of time and found ourselves stuck in that window of time between lunch and dinner that’s a big ? In regards to the kitchen being open or not.
Clearly they were between lunch and dinner service and the place was empty aside from a patron sitting at the bar. As soon as an employee noticed us they were very pleasant and didn’t blink an eye inviting us to chose a table of our liking. No sooner did we break the ice with the server in regaling then with our hiking travails and asserting how hungry we were it seemed that ice water was already being poured into pristine glasses!
We quickly put in an order, including a freshly made table side Cesar salad for 2 (highly recommend)! Everything came out quickly, cooked just right and well presented!
I love the rustic ambience of this place! Rustic yet complimented with white linen table compliments!
Thank you for greeting us with such warmth and for the wonderful food and service! It’s not lost on me in this era of often-times lackluster attention to customer service and details!

Excellent restaurant!
We were at the Falls and got hungry, so we found a few restaurants in Kent and this one looked promising.
We were right!
Restaurant has a very pleasant quiet cozy atmosphere. Very clean. It was not cold inside (not crazy AC, as in many other places). It was just comfortable.
Waitress was very nice and helpful.
Meals were delicious! And at the reasonable price too :)
Main meal size was enough for two of us, and when I told waitress that we are going to share, she asked, if we would like two serve it on two plates. Very nice!
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would defenitely recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is beyond good. This has been my favourite restaurant for many years. If I could have given this place 10 stars, I would.

Quintessential New England restaurant that has stood the test of time with the same owner for over 50 years. We came here for Fathers Day brunch and everything was excellent. Delicious mains and dessert. Would come again.

I got the roasted half duck. They sliced it up right in front of my table. Excellent gravy, veggies and rice.

My husband was raving about the best meal he's had, ever. I would hope so, for the cost! But the Friday roast special was worth it. We treated out of town guests to a special dinner.
Fife has the best fries in town. Our guest got a burger just to get the fries.
Our drinks were never empty, which says a lot about staffing/attentiveness.
Local ice cream from Arethusa was great for dessert!
Live music was wonderful and it's nice to bump into other locals in town.

Delightful restaurant tastefully decorated and with friendly, attentive waitstaff. The fare was delicious, and there are about six beers on tap. Succulent desserts to boot! Clean bathroom and ample unpaved parking outside. Across the lot are the Fife ‘n Drum Inn and gift shop.

Fabulous meal at this cozy small-town restaurant. Atmosphere was upscale (live pianist! Local history on the walls), as were the drinks, and the brie and calamari appetizers were an excellent welcome to the main meals to come. I ordered the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly. Vegetables/sides on our party's main dishes could have used a little less seasoning, but otherwise a memorable smd delicious meal! Special place I'll remember for an extended birthday weekend.

It felt like home-not a pick-up place. We were encouraged to stay as long as we desired.

The Fife n Drum is like stepping back in time in the best way. The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and comfortable -- with classic old-school design. The restaurant serves delicious food with many dishes prepared next to the table by the lovely waitstaff. Salvador in particular was wonderful. Prices aren't cheap but the experience is one of a kind and well worth it. We went for my 30th birthday and had a fabulous time.

1st time eating here the burger I had was really good and for dessert I had the NY Cheese cake that was excellent.... the staff was great... when I was there there was a piano player there and that was cool

The food was amazing! Appetizers and main meal. I had a turkey panini with bacon cheese and apples and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly, good about refilling drinks. Main meal took a little longer to come out then I would have liked, but worth the wait. Wish I got a picture, but it was too good I devoured it quickly!

Have had dinner here the last 2 Friday nights. The table service is very good. Friday nights they have a nice piano player. The food was very good and waiter did a very good job coordinating the meal. Nice spot.

We did not stay as the Inn was fully booked. A very kind gentleman named Tim however called us back, explained how busy the area was for the time we wanted to visit, and then gave me terrific advice about alternatives in the area. He was incredibly gracious and thoughtful, and was able to direct me to another locale. Very Macys-Gimbels.

Next time we are up there (and we will be visiting many schools in the coming months), I will call well in advance and stay at this obviously well run and serviced Inn. Many thanks.

Best Cesar salad I have ever had in my life! They are of course known for their steaks which are excellent too! The entire bar menu is my go to when I'm there as well because they have a different selection on it then the regular menu. You really can't go wrong with this restaurant. It's by far my favorite place in Kent.

Excellent food, nice surroundings, very professional staff. Our waiter Sean was a real gem- a witty, genial fellow with a smile on his face and an endearing twinkle in his eyes.
The prime rib that most of us had was excellent, served medium rare as ordered. We will definitely be back and hope to be greeted by Sean.

The New “Excellence “! From the kind, knowledgeable words over the phone to the photo you see attached, our take-out Easter dinner was a Success! Our wine accompaniment suggestion was spot-on, and the food was delicious! We were greeted promptly at the appointed time with safe, friendly service and a “Happy Easter”! Thank you so much so making our Easter dinner a very pleasant experience in these challenging times! We look forward to dining once again at your beautiful restaurant, too!

Wonderful! We sat outside on a lovely, warm day and the service was fantastic! We opted to have burgers and oh my, were they delicious! Always a wonderful dining experience at "The Fife" as we locals lovingly refer to it.

Another wonderful mea and experience at "The Fife". Friday nights are Prime Rib special nights and this happened to land on our wedding anniversary.
The owner, staff AND the piano player and bass player treated us like celebrities and quite unexpectantly! When I called for a reservation, I happened to mention I wanted a special table as it was our anniversary. Next thing we knew? After a FABULOUS meal? The staff singing "Happy Anniversary" as they brought us our dessert accompanied by the piano and bass players. It was humbling (and embarassing), but so sweet and thoughtful!
