I've only had two items here so far- the ribeye sandwich, which was good. The other is their Tuesday special, the hot beef sandwich. Great value and very tasty. Open faced prime rib sandwich and mashed potatoes all topped with gravy for $8.50. savory gravy, creamy potatoes, tender beef- What a delight.

I keep eating it so fast that I forget to snap pictures.

Awsome fish sandwich. Waitress was great,got a ribeye steal there in the past and it was so tough it must have came from a old dairy cow.

Been gone there since I was a kid I went in there last week probably the last time we'll ever go back in there cuz I don't really ever go to the area but I had beef tips and noodles on Thursday like I did when I was a kid it was really nice good family environment good food good

I've never been to a restaurant that was so slammed and the wait staff were so calm and friendly! It was Friday at about 6 - every table full, and the staff were just cool as cucumbers! Years ago I waited tables for about a decade - I would have been so frazzled with how busy it was! Kudos to our young lady server (great job!), and kudos to the owners for having such a great establishment. Prices were beyond fair in this crazy era and the food was delicious. It was a great way to end a really not great day, so thank you!

The double burger was delicious! Everyone was so nice. Didn't take long to get our food. I will definitely be back. There's lots of stuff that looks good and I am looking forward to trying it.

Ribeye sandwich was very good

Had lunch today and haven't been in for many years. Our service was excellent. Menu is straight forward, nothing fancy which is fine by me. Delicious turkey club and chips which had a great seasoning. Husband had a burger and hush puppies. I'd go back just for the hush puppies! Our daughter ordered a children's meal and had a huge portion. Prices are comparable to many other lunch spots. Restaurant was clean. We will be back for sure.

I am now old enough to appreciate Philo Tavern as living Illinois history, a small local Cafe serving lunch much like the one in my hometown 50 years ago.

Loved the pork tenderloin. It was 3 times the size of my bun. Nice and crisp but still juicy. Did not cook the life out of it. A large amount of fries. Too many to eat. Had to take sandwich home so I could eat the fries. Don't like cold fries or heated up ones. The sandwich was fine heated up. Was reasonable priced. About the cost of culver.

Great staff, awesome food, good drink selection, family friendly. Had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and regular fries, all on point . Wish we lived closer but probably better for our heart health that we don't. Will definitely visit again.

As always it was a great experience. Had it for take out, the prime rib is always amazing and twice baked potatoes on Saturdays are so good. Can't wait for the salad bar to reopen post pandemic. Always worth the trip.

This place is becoming one of our favorites Good food and fast service and their sweetie is awesome.

I think they might have had a new person tonite so service was slow...... nice guys though. Food was excellent. I had a steak salad and the flavor of the steak was great, hubby had a tenderloin sandwich and it was moist with a good flavor, daughter had pulled pork and it was really good too. Worth coming back.

The food was very tasty and prepared just the way I like it. The service was pretty good also. The price was competitive. Would definitely go back.

I am not a person who eats the fat on a steak, however I went to Philo thinking in would have either fish or the yummy chicken strips. When I got there it smelled of steak so I got the 10oz ribeye and ate every single bite. I love love love this place
