McNamara Terminal

The airport is very clean, line does move very fast. I came from Europe Airport, seen many worker look like cop here in the USA compared to any other airport. But I love the safety my country provides for us. I love USA

I always love flying into McNamara Terminal with Delta. It's always clean and bright. Everyone who works here has seemed very friendly. The TSA staff is especially talkative with us. Great airport. The only drawback is you may have a long walk to baggage claim if your gate is at the end. It's a mile and a half long!

I love the improvements over the years of the McNamara Terminal. A variety of new restaurants, the Tram and the nice fountain. Traveling for the Christmas holiday wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was pretty smooth!

As usuall, very quick service. Neat and clean well maintained. It would be great if airport can add more food options for past three years same food kiosks.

I usually fly into the Evans terminal so imagine my surprise when I fly Delta and and get off into the wonderland that is the McNamara terminal. Just wow. This big bright terminal is first class- from the stores and signs, even the bathrooms felt next level. I’m now contemplating switching from American to Delta, just for the terminal experience alone.

A couple of things I could say. I took an Uber here, and the driver may have changed my life. He said, “Treasure each moment.” A phrase we’ve heard thousands of times before that, suddenly, after years and years, at this time of day, from that person, in the context of our moment, I heard those words like it was the first time they had ever been said. His children, now 14, 16, and 24, were “a lot of fun,” and being a father “came naturally.” Writing this now, I suppose you would have had to hear it from him. His name was Myles, and I wish I had more to thank him with than a tip. Honest to my maternal grandma’s grave, I might name my kid after him, boy or girl.

The other thing I want to say is that it’s 6:30 am at gate A4 (I walked), and this 20-ish-year-old just rolled up and shouted, “Seattle, Washington!” Then he plopped down next to me and hasn’t stopped humming since. I felt this reflexive urge to be annoyed, but I couldn’t help but feel a soft tinge of euphoria. This also helps me understand why my partner can get flustered when I wake up with enthusiasm, but, actually, maybe this is exactly what could give her joy. Gotta think about that a little more. I also gotta figure this humming out. Maybe there’s an app for that? Time to do some sleuthing.

The best airport in the Midwest by far since the opening of McNamara Terminal to serve as the erstwhile Northwest Airlines hub, later absorbed by Delta. With the opening of the North Terminal, this has moved into the league of best passenger hubs in the US.

I appreciate the ample space for getting into and out of the airport while still having a single place to enter and exit. It makes is easy to know where you will get picked up and dropped off. The terminal is ample, but easy to navigate, and has a variety of food and shopping past security without being forced to look like terminals where you have to walk through a store to get to your gate. DTW is not quite so pushy.

Almost always a smooth experience.
Not an overly large airport. Great people movers. Both walking sidewalks and escalators are a great experience and will save on long walks. They also have an indoor overhead tram system that goes from hub to hub. They are open 24 hours, but it seems they are all but closed late at night from 1am to 6am.

One of the best airports of large size for easy connectivity between gates, especially for Delta Airlines. Sky train connects gates from one end to another. Airport is always clean. Now with virtual reality booth you get to experience the gate information that is visible only unique to you. Baggage arrival for checked baggage was also seamless with constant updates on FlyDelta App

Good international airport with modern design. Transfer very convenient and easy.

My hometown terminal. Great winter airport and classy gastronomy! Even when short staffed, the team strives to deliver great service. Travel ain’t easy. Also! Love the Detroit coffee vending machine in domestic baggage for that late night wait.

It's super easy to get around here. This is one of the best airports in the country, you know.

DTW is one of the best airports: simple and sunny with good places to eat and shop.

Terminal is well marked, staff are knowledgable and friendly. TSA went very quickly for a Friday morning. Easy transportation to my gate via the Tram and a moving sidewalk. Everything ran very smoothly, considering I got into the self-parking facility (US Park) at 9:05 for a 10:30 flight!

Easy to navigate. Clean. Fair priced food for an airport and airport prices. Large variety of good food. You can reach nearly and Delta gate in about 10 mins. Connections all over the country.

Good airport. Long terminal allows for walking exercise if you have time between flights.

I take this route very frequently, I always plan a 90 minutes arrival prior to flight takeoff. they have checkin option when you get off the escalators of the car rental shuttle, for security they have tsa, clear, tsa +clear and digital id, it's random which one is faster, today it was tsa, last time it was tsa + clear. take the tram to move through the A gates. Overall very smooth transition through the airport.
