Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library

Came here for a free concert with my family, which includes 2 little kids, and absolutely loved the concert (shout out to a fantastic performance by Miriam Waks) - and the library itself. The building is architecturally beautiful and well-maintained, with dedicated sections for self-study, computer work, and a beautifully renovated children's area with a reading nook and other seating areas.

There was also an artwork display by local schoolchildren which was fantastic. Clean, well-lit, brightly colored furniture, quiet, and an outside seating area as well - this library has it all! (Plus the bathrooms are tidy and nice - a huge factor for me and my kids).

I got into this compilation with this group of kids the first person that came was all the staff they help me. Excellent staff we need more nice people in the world I am special kid so this my story

Awesome space. Large, clean, great hours (open 7 days a week, close at 9pm some days). The outdoor space is great, especially if you need to take a quick call but don't want to leave the library entirely. They have a ton of activities for kids and study programs for those in school. Awesome overall.

The library is simply great. Not only does it contain an enormous amount of books in almost every genre, but it has a vast amount of resources accessible to any researcher. The utilization of computers by the librarians makes finding and checking out books efficient and stress fee. Furthermore, the staff is impeccable; I recall one teenage staff member, Sydney R., who went out of her way to help me with all that I needed. This library is amazing and I highly recommend!

This is my home away from home. Sometimes I think it's my actual home, and the place where my mail is sent is the home away from home. Anyway, aside from being an architectural stunner, the library is always stocked with best sellers of every genre and an impressive array of alternative media. The graphic novel and young adults sections are especially varied and filled with topical, relevant, and engaging texts. If I had more time I would participate in some of the programs that the library offers, but by the looks of the parking lot, many local residents attend the programs. Their online catalog makes book surfing easy. Their app is incredible. The digital Library is my life. The staff is friendly, helpful, and informed. They always have an Eclectic display of recommendations. The library is reason enough to move to this neighborhood!

The hewlett-woodmere library is able to access all of the current best sellers. They have extraordinary programs when allowed. They have lectures concerts and more.
Become a friend of the library. It's a very small amount annually. And the friends bring tremendous Talent from the city, from Juilliard Etc to the stage at our beautiful Gold Hall.

Very quiet place, great for children to do their homework, very clean and big!! Much better than the peninsula library!!

Nice, quiet and clean. I often come here when I need a place to work and study outside my home. The individual workstations downstairs are perfect for that!

Pros - Amazing library.
The staff here is very helpful, friendly and professional at the same time. There is this cool lady in the basement floor and she showed me how to use the dewy decimal system. It was very courteous of her. You can drop off books/cds outside the library.

Hewlett-woodmere public library is certainly a place to be at where your imagination can expand to the point of infinity. Library has many sections with scores of books on various topics. Going through aisle after aisle you can check out all kinds of tomes carefully displayed on shelves. Even if you're not sure what you want to read on a given day, cursory browsing may just land you on a book that may entertain you, provide you with the knowledge or just may very well change your life.

The staff at this library is the best in Nassau County. They are civic minded and truly care about their patrons. I am very proud to be a member of this library!

Love this library. Very clean, courteous staff and I ALWAYS find parking. The online service is amazing.

Went here in the past and ordered many useful books and media from this one of a kind library! The building is very architectural too and that adds to the library experience as I know this from first hand viewing!

Best Library! Great selection of books and videos. Liberians are very friendly. This is the place I visit weekly!

Spacious, quiet, available parking, plentiful outlets, wifi and outdoor space. They sell tickets to some local concert events.

An actual quiet library. Couldn't believe it until I tried it. Clean and smells fresh. Awesome hours of operation.
