Came in 2022, everything is still fantastic in 2024! Top notch modern Italian food at the heart of Newport. Parking can be a pain but the restaurant itself is excellent. The restaurant has an open concept. Not only was the kitchen open, the dining space was intimate but opens up to a deck with a review of the harbor.

The food was delicious. There are a variety of well thought out appetizers and freshly made pasta dishes. Highly recommend their snap pea salad

Enjoyed all of it. Amazing food, great service, great drinks.
Super creative and seasonal menu! Never thought I’d love strawberries with fish, or sweet pea cake.

Took a day trip to Newport to celebrate our anniversary and was excited to try Giusto's tasting menu! We made reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was already pretty lively.

We were seated in the covered patio with a nice view of the water. It was a lovely space away from the busyness of the main dining area, but the sun was pretty strong at times.

The different courses came out at a good pace, with my favorite being the pasta. They also surprised us with complimentary mocktails for our anniversary, which was sweet of them.

I would definitely come back for their tasting menu and to enjoy a great meal by the water!

We did the tasting menu and highly recommend it. The wait staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I liked the decor, and the restaurant was not too noisy even though it was full.

This place is for gourmands not people who got used to eating huge portions at Italian restaurants and get the regular pasta and meatballs or pizza.

This place is for a gourmand who appreciates the flavor, small but different bites and wants to indulge rather feel up a stomach.

I personally applaud the kitchen)

small but very delicious unique dishes which I would not consider Italian cuisine but more like New American. I loved it.

Great vibes here with decent food selections. Squid ink seafood pasta tastes really good. It’s home made pasta with fresh seafood. Fried calamari with squid ink breaded as well. It’s different from the original ones that normally serve in the restaurants. I also love the tomato salad and snow pea salad as well. Everything taste fresh here with good indoor and outdoor seating atmosphere. Well decorated here as well.

Guisto is definitely one of the best restaurants in Newport. They consistently have the best bar program I have found anywhere south of Boston and the food and service are also exceptional. There are also surprising (and terrific) gluten-free options, including the squid ink calamari. Gorgeous outdoor space in summer and cozy indoor in winter. Truly excellent bar staff.

Had an incredible dinner with friends for a 30th birthday celebration. The $55 tasting menu is absolutely incredible and for the amount of food, an amazing deal.

The one note is that I had on my reservation that one of our guests is pregnant and it was also a special birthday. They had to reconfirm the dietary restrictions and I verbally reconfirmed the birthday as there was no mention of it from the hostess or our waiter when we arrived. After specifically pointing to my friend and saying it was her birthday, there still was zero recognition of it. The table next to us got a dessert with a candle brought out to them, and we got nothing. It was very disappointing and kind of put a cloud over the entire meal experience. It costs nothing to pay attention to notes in the reservation.

We also had to ask for drinks twice at the end of the meal and I never received my coffee. But it was the end of the night so didn’t really fault the waiter.

Giusto restaurant in Newport provided the perfect culmination to our culinary journey, following visits to several other notable establishments in the area (Thames Street Kitchen, The Lobster Bar, Yagi Noodles,  Mother Pizzaria, and La Vecina Taqueria you can read my reviews for each one of them). Our evening commenced with the exquisite Mad Honey and Dirty Vodka Martini cocktails, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The bee cocktail, a delightful blend of specially distilled tomcat gin, apple cider, honey from a Vermont orchard/distillery, and Cynar, was a masterpiece of balanced flavors. To begin the night, we indulged in a dozen RI Oysters, Ricotta Frittelle, Supli al Telefono, and the Scotch Meatball. The appetizers were nothing short of exceptional, each bite transporting us to the idyllic landscapes of the Italian Dolomites. Moving on to our main courses, which included Street Corn Ravioli, Rigatoni, Roasted Eggplant, and Smoked Brisket, we were consistently impressed by the presentation, quality, and sheer deliciousness of each dish. The chefs at Giusto skillfully combined diverse ingredients to craft a truly unique Italian fusion experience.

For dessert, we savored gelato in all its delectable forms. The chef's surprise addition of an off-menu fusion fruit salad left us in awe and is a must-try addition to their offerings. Our evening concluded with the delightful Espresso Martini, adding a perfect finishing touch to our memorable dining experience.

In summary, Giusto restaurant in Newport is a must-visit for all food enthusiasts. Their fusion of Italian and American cuisine, coupled with impeccable craftsmanship, inventive flavors and excellent top-notch service, left us thoroughly impressed and eager to return.

What an experience. We did the freestyle chef’s tasting and it was seven courses of deliciousness. If you’re coming on a weekend make reservations early. If you’re walking in it’s open seating and the full menu at the bar.

Came in around 6 without a reservation on a Sunday night. They had zero seating available for dinner for the rest of the night so we waited by the bar and snagged a seat after a bit of waiting. Got the tasting menu for 2 ($55 each) and it was about 8 courses, I think? Some, pictured, were basically just little bites. But the pasta and fish were filling. It's a good way to try the entire menu if you're interested in doing that. Honestly I think I would have been fine just getting an app and the pasta I had been eying prior. Everything on the tasting menu was good, I just wasn't wowed by any of it either. My favorites were the pasta and the cucumber caesar salad. Staff was friendly and service was very prompt.

My wife and celebrated our anniversary at Giusto -we're still talking about how much we both enjoyed our dinner!

The hostess greeted us with smile and recognition of our anniversary, our server (Katie) was amongst the most personable and professional servers in memory, and our entire dinner was phenomenal.

We live 30 minutes from Newport, so we will return to Giusto on our next drive over the bridge!

We opted for the "Freestyle" dinner where the chef chooses 8 tastings for you. It was delicious! Days later my husband is still taking about the pasta dish! It also included their amazing cheesecake. The drinks were very good and our server Melanie was fabulous. We will definitely be back!

The location is right overlooking the water with the boats, is picture perfect:)

Very good experience .

Excellent lunch service by Joe. Delicious dishes including Bibb lettuce wraps, Johnny cake, and ricotta frittelle. Pumpkin pansotti entree & tiramisu dessert. Would recommend “the old man and the tea” and espresso martini cocktails. I’ve followed chef Brian O’Donnell and his brother to Canary Square, SRV (MA) and now Giusto, 10/10.

Every time I come to Newport stopping at Giusto is a must for casual drinks and gourmet quick bites. I love the atmosphere, the staff is well trained and the food is delicious, I love the small tapas and because they are petit you can try a whole bunch of them. Highly recommended.

A trip to Newport would not be complete without having dinner at Giusto. The restaurant is located right behind the main strip in Newport. While most restaurants are in the busy hustle, Giusto is setback just enough that you still feel part of the area but it is relaxed, comfortable, and effortlessly chic. It’s located right above a dock, over looking the water, giving you the best of what Newport has to offer. Even with the stunning location and aesthetics in the restaurant, somehow that is the least interesting thing about Giusto. Giusto has an UNPARALLELED team, the bartenders, managers, servers, back waiters, hosts, every single person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, attentive, and genuinely cared. This is something you don’t always find in restaurants and makes all the difference.

We decided to go with the Tasting Menu, which is a multi-course experience that features some plates that you can find on the regular dinning menu and some things that you can not. Our server (Evan) described every single plate to us as if he had made it himself. It showed that he not only knew everything there was to know about it, but that he also believed in the food. **AND THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL**

We had a delicious Sauvignon Blanc recommended to us personally by the bar manager, Olivia, which was perfectly dry and flavorful while being complementary to our meal. We loved everything so much, we even got Giusto sweatshirts!

This is a MUST VISIT restaurant if you’re in Newport. I would recommend making reservations, because they do fill up quickly. This is the perfect location for an intimate date, a family dinner, group get togethers or celebration, or even a solo night out at the bar. You will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful experience at Giusto and would recommend for anyone interested in upscale and creative Italian and cocktails. We partook in the tasting menu that was a delicious 8 course meal for $55. Wait staff was extremely attentive and had our next course out as soon as the first was whisked away. They even surprised us with complimentary Prosecco for our anniversary.

What can i say...exceptional. Superb food and the service is out of this world. Aaron is the GM there and couldn’t do more for us. Lauren, was The only one who contacted us back after enquirers, we had called 4 places asking if they could accommodate a large group, and she was the only one to get back to us.

The restaurant is cool, inside and out, great vibe all together. Awesome overhead heaters outdoors that kept us really comfy.

Staff all dressed in classic waiter attire, so smart, and there is such a positive collaborative culture, leading to an exceptional experience. If 6 stars was an option I would give it 6.

Go and enjoy!!!!

I have to review Giusto again because it’s just that incredible.

Cocktails and service mirrored the ambiance with a combination of care, class, and a sense of true Italian home. The dishes are classic, yet eclectic. The chef and owner put such care into this menu. It’s unreal.

I’d not yet had the steamed little necks. This dish was awesome! It was in a delicious white chowder base and served with a warm, flaky garlic marscapone dough boy. It was one of those dished that make you drool for the next bite while eating your current bite.

Always order the squid ink calamari. It’s so different and delicious. The black tempura weight batter makes this a unique experience that will make your tastebuds dance in a new way.

Scotch meatballs is a must. Imagine a scotch egg but better! Milder, creamier, with a mx of meats and not just sausage which can be overpowering at times.

The Tagliolini is a spin on traditional spaghetti and meatballs but with a few delicious twists. My husband said it’s the closest to his mom’s he has ever eaten at a restaurant.

My favorite after-dinner treat is a bowl of tiramisu to share and a Biscotti liquor cordial-style sipper.

Giustos is my spirit animal restaurant if there is such a thing.
