This place is amazing!!! The owner is so sweet, kind and helpful! He seriously made our day! Really good price and great book selection~ also very cute book store :) we will definitely visit here again!

These guys are the best. It's a small space so they don't have everything. What they do have is good and in good shape. You're not going to find scuffed/scratched/warped/dirty records outside of the bargain bin, and even their bargain bin is reliably great, in fact I've never found anything that wasn't just a cosmetic issue with the cover, the discs themselves are almost all perfect. Can't say enough about the customer service and there's always something awesome coming through the speakers. This review is about the record store side of the business, but I can tell they care just as much about the books.

Nice selection of older and popular used books at good prices! Was able to find several from a series I’m always on the hunt for.

Walked in and Michael Kiwanuka was spinning... Need I say more. Excellent shop. Well organized, wide selection, and decent prices. Took some time to speak with Raymond, the shop owner, about the joys of discovering new music. When I shared with him that I was not from the area, he was kind enough to direct me to some other Seattle shops worth visiting. If you find yourself in the Seattle area, definitely try to make it out to Bainbridge and visit Raymond at Backstreet Beat.

My hubby and I were actually on our way to check out another bookstore, when we stumbled across this hidden GEM in an alleyway!!!! This bookstore was SO legit. Incredible atmosphere, friendly owner, wonderful collection of books and LP's. The ambience of the place, and the heart and soul that were poured into this charming Brick and Mortar shop were enough to make it one of my favorite new bookstores. A must visit if you go to Bainbridge Island!!!

A blended record and book store. The record selection wasn't huge (it's a small shop) but you might get lucky and find something you're looking for.

Owner is extremely nice and knowledgeable. Great assortment of vinyls for very reasonable prices. I never go anywhere else for vinyls.

This bookshop is the perfect size, with an absolutely great atmosphere. Super natural and friendly feel, good levels of booksmell. Super fair prices, and fantastic staff, really good folks!

Wonderful little used book and record shop. It had been closed for a while (I'm willing to bet pandemic-related), but they're finally back open! Not a huge selection of records, but some good finds! Location is convenient and the fellow working the counter when I was there was quite nice.

An awesome find while visiting the island! Very well organized and friendly and helpful owner! I haven't been to a record store in a long time! It's a perfect combination of books and vinyl and very fairly priced!! Cant wait to go back!!

On my next visit to Bainbridge this place will be a destination. We stumbled on it on our way back to the boat and didn’t have much time, but still found several vinyl treasures. The owner was very friendly and even shipped me another record at no cost to correct a minor issue- over the top service! Highly recommended.

My husband bought a book here, but he also sells records. He was very nice! He was very nice to my 2 year old. And he had a chair and a box of books for kids to read while the parents shopped. I thought that was a neat touch.

Great, great shop!! Used LP's are top quality and has a varied selection. Owner was very patient as I geeked out on all my favorites! Offered to ship my albums so I wouldn't have to pack them home. A must see and buy from shop as you visit Bainbridge.

I'm a resident of Bainbridge and I hardly ever pop in to shops on Winslow... EXCEPT Backstreet Beat. I always make sure to take the time to stop by because I will almost certainly find a new treasure. Always changing selection of music, great staff, and good atmosphere.

My local Island 'sweet spot' for flipping through cool new & used vinyl and books! Small town friendly atmosphere with a owner that knows his stuff!

This a great place. I go here for all my vinyl records. They also have a really cool book collection of older books. Like old old old books. It's a great place and the staff is super friendly

Great music shop! Raymond always has a nice LP playing, great selection of music and very,very good prices! You won't want to miss this if visiting Bainbridge Island!

By far, the best selection of books and records on the island. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and is always available to show you something you never knew about, that will eventually become a classic in your personal library!

Pleasant spot to explore bins of classic vinyl and browse interesting used books. There's always an enjoyable LP playing on the shop turntable.

What a wonderful experience. Found some wonderful treasures, and the owner was as helpful as can be.
