My partner and I stayed here for a holiday weekend and it was lovely. The decor was beautiful and whoever chose the green paint color deserves a high five. Because of the holiday, it wasn’t crowded so we felt like we really got to enjoy our experience. The spa was so nice. They had a warm pool, hot pool (outside), a cold pool, as well as a sauna. It was a bit smaller than expected, but not bad. I was relieved to see that the spa area provided water so the guests didn’t have to worry about bringing their own. They also had kombucha on tap, which was amazing! Because it wasn’t busy, my partner and I were able to stay in the spa area longer than the time slot allowed and the front desk had no issue with it. The only thing I wish was different about our stay was the food options the hotel provided. While they did have some good breakfast/snack options, it wasn’t enough to fulfill a dinner. Hood River isn’t far away, but it would be nice to not have to drive to pick something up. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and I’d come back again.

I used their lobby as a cafe working away for 3 hours. The staff was very nice, the latte was creamy and aromatic. I had the avocado toast -- which I would award 4 out of 5 stars as it was missing a bit of garnish and spices.

However, most importantly, as I had stopped to get some urgent work done while being on the road, I appreciated the ease with which I was able to connect to the internet and get some stuff done seated at one of the long wooden tables with convenient outlets underneath.

The hotel lobby and bathroom was tasteful and clean. I would certainly consider staying here.

I've been to the Society twice: once with a group of friends who all stayed in a bunk room and once with my husband and toddler. Bunks were comfortable, well designed, and cozy. Traveling with a little one is always chaotic, and but thoughtful, kind service at The Society helped our trip go smoothly. The ability to text the front desk was especially appreciated, since I had to change our family soak appointment at the last minute while nap trapped! The gym on site is fun for the kiddos to run around in bad weather, and the cafe has a nice selection of snacks and drinks.

The Society Hotel is a wonderful boutique hotel and spa. The cleanliness of the rooms, lobby and grounds makes for a lovely retreat. The friendly staff is superb. It was a "staycation" for me but one I would highly recommend to anyone looking to unplug for a day or a week!

I spent last weekend on a solo retreat at the Society Hotel and had a fantastic time! The bathhouse is the star of the show, with a hot tub, cold plunge, warm salt pool, and sauna, which I used every day of my stay and thoroughly enjoyed. The cafe is serviceable, if a little limited because of their small kitchen, but the staff was kind and helpful. I stayed in one of the private rooms in the lodge, which was quiet and very clean. My only wish was for a little more storage, which I know is tricky in that small a space. Even a chair by the bedside would have been a welcome addition to rest my phone and glasses during the night. Overall, I had a lovely, restorative visit!

I came here for a birthday trip and the hotel provided excellent communication and accommodation of 13 guests! We stayed in the bunk rooms and everyone was raving the next morning about how comfortable and cozy the bunks were! I wanted to take the bed and all the bedding home and swap out for my own 😂. The highlight of all was the spa area with the soaking pools! We could have spent all day in there!
Another note was that everything felt extremely clean and smelled amazing - the bathrooms, the sheets, the water in the pools. Such a relaxing experience. Cannot wait to come back!

This was my third time staying at the Society and I’ve now had the pleasure of staying at the cabins, the private rooms & the hostel rooms. Each was thought out down to the smallest detail. The spaces are small, but well laid out and thoughtful. I appreciate that the staff is also very laid back, they don’t feel fake or like they have customer service voices, they just seem like they do their jobs well and treat guests with kindness and want to help. The entire lobby area is a ✨vibe✨ & the cafe coffee is outstanding. The spa feels like you’ve been transported to some European relaxation vacation. The system of the spa is my favorite because it prioritizes hotel guests for certain times and ensures it isn’t overcrowded. I also love the constant towels and water that you can rotate out for - makes the entire thing easier. 10/10 would recommend for a beautiful gorge getaway.

I have nothing but positive reviews to say about The Soceity as a whole. Back in 2019 I stumbled across their Portland location by accident and had an amazing time. I wasn’t able to make to to the Bingen location at their launch, so I told myself I’d eventually get there.

I took a solo trip to the Bingen location in August and had a wonderful time. I arrived a few hours early and was able to get checked in by the receptionist who was very friendly about it. The first thing I noticed was how cool the lounge was when I first got there.

I stayed in the bunk room (which I stayed in while in Portland) and had a wonderful time. The bedding is great, pillows are comfy, had my own light and outlet in the bunk. Quiet times are from 10pm - 8am which everyone staying in the bunk room respected. In fact, I hardly heard a peep from anyone else staying in the bunk room with me. There are trains that pass by but I used their ear plugs and heard NOTHING.

They offer lockers inside the bunk room as well as lockers outside the bunk room in the seating area / kitchenette area. They are first come first serve and do not come with a lock. There’s also 6 individual bathrooms just outside the bunk room and two mini refrigerators available for use, just be sure to label you items.

The spa was ABSOLUTELY amazing. It was really the biggest reason I decided to go. There is a reservation system where you need to book your reservation online. There were days I was able to book multiple bookings due to the demand being low, your experience may be different.

They also have a gymnasium with kettle bells, basketball court, corn hole, large connect 4 and a foosball table. The kettlebells were a nice surprise since they do not have a gym as an amenity.

All the amenities listed are available to use for someone with a reservation.

I highly recommend this place for anyone and I’m hoping to go back and stay in a cabin. I really hope the owners expand to other states and locations. I would go to every location!!!

We celebrated our 20 year anniversary at this lovely Scandinavian style hotel. The cabin was well appointed and comfy, the spa bathhouse was relaxing, the hotel grounds are a delight, and the area is charming.

One of my favorite Columbia Gorge escapes. Truly a wonderful place to have fun and relax with as variety of cozy spaces. Of course, the spa is awesome too! The staff is always inviting and helpful. Take a solo trip or make it a destination with friends.

My stay here was incredible. I was on a little solo 2 night trip just up from Portland and I felt so comfortable being there on my own. It was nice to have the communal areas when I felt like socializing but also had my own quite room to go to. The spa was everything I was hoping for. Going there to soak after long hikes during the day, and drinking the delicious spa water to rehydrate was perfection and so restoring. Highly recommend!

Fun place to stay close to everything. We stayed 2 nights in a king bedroom with shared bath. Was a little hesitant about having to share a bathroom, but they have plenty of private bathrooms. Lots of little spots around the property to have quiet moments with your spouse. The cafe was great! The taro latte and morning bowl were my favorites. The spa was amazing! 830pm - 1030pm is the best time to go. Do the plunge, it was invigorating.

Terrific venue for both hostel type bunks or individual cabins. The spa is heavenly and the little on site Cafe and coffee bar are sweet. Handy to White Salmon. Bingen and the Hwy 14 sights.

Great outdoor vibe and excellent service in hotel and spa areas. The bunk rooms are actually quite nice—much more so than a typical hostel. Noise level was good, beds were surprisingly comfortable, and amenities were plentiful. Would definitely recommend.

Only gripe was $5/hour EV charging at level 2. Should be $2/hr or $0.30/kWh at most.

This is such a cool property. The design of the building, landscape and spa is incredibly well done. The hotel staff left a little to be desired, think most were new and not well trained. The two ladies on the spa staff however were wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Can’t wait to go back and stay in a king cabin!

We had an amazing 'Girls Weekend' while staying in the bunk house and enjoying the soaking pools, sauna, and sanctuary. The facilities were clean and cozy. The food in the cafe was amazing. The ambiance was perfectly chill yet swanky. The staff in both the hotel and in the bath house were extremely kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!
