Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lexington-Downtown/University, an IHG Hotel

We stayed a night here as it is close to UK hospital.
My 15 month old grandson was to have a test there.
From the moment we got there the lady at checkout greeted us and went out of her way to provide milk for the baby.
At 5am I went to purchase something to tide my 10 year old over during test on the baby.
The lady at the desk came around and showed me that, although it was too early for their breakfast, she had graciously put out begals, toast, cinnamon rolls and thst. Plus the best cup of coffee I ever had.
Angels is what they are.
The staff and a man from a church there in town.
Perfectly clean room.
Perfect stay and we are ever so grateful for every aspect of our stay.

Great staff! There was a little issue with a toaster catching on fire. But they got us out safely. My 12 year was upstairs when the alarm went off. The front desk clerk was very concerned with getting us in touch with her so she wasn’t afraid. My daughter made her way out and everything was fine. But they are very concerned about my daughters wellbeing. The hotel was very cleaned, smelled clean. Food area well stocked at all times. Breakfast was good. The hotel is very well taken care of and workers care about it. Enjoyed my stay!!!

Everything about our stay was incredible! The girl that checked us in was extremely nice and helpful. We got yo the room and saw that we were upgraded to a suite free of charge so that was a wonderful surprise. We ended up having to extend our stay and I had everything packed up ready to move rooms and the gentleman on the morning shift was kind enough to make sure we stayed in the same beautiful room. Every employee I had interactions with were very nice and amazing! They also always had fresh coffee in the lobby. All around it was an incredible stay!

The rooms were very clean. The front desk customer service was very polite. Although I did not have breakfast it appeared to be good with a large variety.
The coffee could use the help. Not very good.
I did have some trouble with billing on the correct cards but, hopefully that will resolve itself in a few days.
Overall the stay went well and I would recommend this place.

Fast and friendly service. More than enough parking. Everything was clean. Fitness center only has 1 treadmill.

I stayed here for 2 nights while I was with a family member who had surgery at UK Hospital. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were really nice. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a lot of options for food, from cereal to hot food (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes) to pastries, and of course coffee and juice. The hotel is adjacent to an active train track, so unfortunately the trains roll through and are noisy, but that's no fault of the hotel. As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe here and wouldn't hesitate to come back of I have the opportunity.

We called ahead to ask for a earlier check in. We were so tired from our drive and the young guy at the front desk was so accommodating. Rooms and hotel was exceptionally clean, pool was nice. Fitness room was lacking, just a few cardio machines and resistance bands. Breakfast was great, good selection and very friendly , helpful staff.

Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The desk light in our (King bed) room did not work.

The hotel was conveniently close to the University of Kentucky! This was a wonderful PLUS!

Absolutely fantastic, outstanding staff and hot breakfast. Granted there a sausage gravy and only biscuit crumbs, very probable to stay again if in the area. Suggestion, just give guests a bottle of water at check-in, especially when asked, obviously tired and disheveled at a very late time, opposed to “it’s over to my left, I’ll charge it to your room.”

Excellent service, answered all our questions. Very clean and had many accommodations. They give a discount if you’re a family member of someone in the hospital and our twins are in the nicu here in lex and it’s nice knowing there is somewhere for us to stay rather than drive and hour home. We appreciate this place so much!! The breakfast was amazing! Lots of choices for those who are picky eaters.

Melanie is truly an angel. I called ahead of my in-laws staying here to surprise my mother in law with champagne at check in. I was fully aware this might not be something that Holiday Inn does. Melanie went out of her way to go to the store and buy champagne, a card, balloons, and flowers for me. She put out the spread and sent me a picture of it. Truly outstanding hospitality!!

This place is great for several reasons:
1. It’s consistently clean
2. The complimentary breakfast is really good
3. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they even let me use their printer!

I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. Room was clean and staff friendly. We were able to walk to nearby food and drink spots without any issues.

Very good! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The gentleman at the desk was pleasant, thorough, and just a very nice young man.

I appreciate how the staff overworked themselves, thanks to Queen Beshear's tyrannical rules.

It will be nice when we can swim, mix and mingle, or just eat a real breakfast in the breakfast room.

It will also be nice when the fear mongers will allow us the freedom to show and view each other's smiles

Both times were great. The food is great and the staff is very helpful.

The location of this hotel isn't the best - but it's not the worst either. BUT, this hotel has to be one of the quietest places I have ever stayed - and I stay in lots of hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful and hotel was clean. The breakfast didn't look that appetizing but then again, I have yet to come across a free continental breakfast that I liked. I would rather sleep in anyway. There are several restaurants within walking distance for food and a great little market within walking distance.

Wonderful, friendly staff. Cleaning services are excellent and it shows in their work. Overall I must admit that I enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer. Also, the pool was just the thing I needed to beat the heat.
