Red State BBQ

Gosh, I was just going over some old photos and I ran into some pictures of the best BBQ ribs I've ever had in my 50 years. I clearly recall reading about Red State BBQ and making it one of my go to places to visit in Kentucky.

I entered and found myself a nice spot. The young lady behind the counter suggested the perfect beer for my ribs. Exquisite combo! The sauce was delicious and the ribs dissolved in my mouth. The bean and mashed potato side combo were also fantastic. Love when a place lives up to the hype.

We have heard about Red State for a while but since it was a bit of a drive we had been putting it off. We went today and won't be putting it off any more. It was more than worth the drive. I had the Beer Cheese Brisket sandwich on a pretzel bun and it was AMAZING. Their Mac n cheese is also creamy and flavorful. There was a long line but it moved quickly. The service was friendly and we received our food quickly.

Friendly staff, amazing food. The egg rolls are amazing, the double smoked brisket is the best I have ever had. The chilli is amazing. Definitely worth stopping by. Service was quick amd everything is fresh

The food tasted great, the employees were nice too. I enjoy how stylized the walls were and I got to add Milo from the band The Descendents. :] I hope to come back if I come up to see Blink-182.

Their mustard based barbecue sauce and brown sugar dusted ribs are incredible! And surprisingly, the fries were natural cut and were some of the best I've ever had! I passed by the unassuming red building the first time I came to Georgetown. I did not make that mistake twice!

Best ribs I’ve ever had. I had apple bourbon sauce. Good. Coleslaw good. Corn muffins pretty good. Overall not too expensive. Peach bread pudding was just meh. But let’s face it, you’re not coming here for peach bread pudding.

Great food and excellent service. I really liked my pulled chicken sandwich. The staff is very patient and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lexington.

Great little independent mom and pop BBQ joint!! Ate here on a Sunday afternoon with my family and it was packed. Everything we had was very good!!! I loved the smoked sausage, ribs and the wings!!! Corn pudding and baked beans were 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The last major plus was the variety of sauces you have available at your table. Also we brought home a box of left overs that will make a great lunch this week. We Love eating here whenever we get the chance.

This review is from an Eastern North Carolina BBQer. If you're within 100 miles of Red State BBQ make the drive there. I tried the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken with corn pudding, baked beans, and banana pudding. After sampling all three meats without sauce (all great favors), I used the Kentucky Small Batch and the Apple Bourbon sauces. Both were outstanding. The banana pudding was fantastic too. Great sweet tea that can hold its own against any NC sweet tea. Based upon the food we had today, I'm ready to go back tomorrow and try a majority of the other dishes on the menu. Outstanding staff and service in this small restaurant. Two thumbs up for Red State BBQ.

Fantastic bbq 1.6 miles off of 75. Great food and super friendly and quick service. The brisket and pork were phenomenal.Definitely on my list for a future lunch stop.

Wow! Food was much better than expected. The meats were tender and flavorful. Highly recommend for anybody passing through.

One of Kentucky’s best BBQ spots. You can never go wrong whenever you go there. The brisket, the pulled pork and the ribs are my favorite. Their beer cheese brisket sandwich is pretty delicious. Always look forward to going there.

Bring your sharpie and extra napkins. Their food is absolutely phenomenal. 💯 I will definitely be stopping again the next time I drive through KY! 🤤

Absolutely loved this place! The double smoked brisket was the best I have ever had. The Beer cheese grits and slaw really topped off a great meal.

Bbq brisket and pulled pork was great. The coleslaw and corn muffins also very good. Friendly service and good price for the amount you get.

Get there early, they run out of things. Once you eat there you'll know why. This is what they call a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that makes great food. We got the BBQ Chicken and it was really good. Also the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to try the Peach Bread Pudding Ala Mode, it is out of this world. You can tell they pay close attention to the quality of the food because nothing our group got tasted bad. Will definitely go again. And yes you can write on the walls.

Visited here while passing through on my way south. Definitely has a unique atmosphere. Tried the brisket, mac n cheese and fries, sweet tea and banana pudding. All were very good and well received. Tried all the sauces and most were good but the Memphis sweet seemed to be the favorite all around. Worth a visit.

Wow! Absolutely wonderful! The double smoked brisket just fell apart in your mouth, so good! Baked beans were like homemade and good enough to eat for a meal alone! Potato salad and corn pudding both tasted like something just made at home. Pulled pork was wonderful but we just couldn’t finish everything! My daughter had the ribs, the meat fell off the bones and she said it was the most moist ribs she’d ever had! We wanted to try something local while here in Kentucky and this was well worth it! If we are ever in Kentucky again this is a must have!
