Wild Ginger

I enjoyed everything from the service to the food! For appetizers we got lobster wontons and bacon wrapped scallops. They were the best bacon wrapped scallops I’ve ever had! (But both were really good) For my entree I decided to get rockfish, and it came with some brussel sprouts and mini crab balls on the side. Also got the seafood masala! Everything tasted amazing! 10/10! Oh, and can’t forget the margarita was great as well. :)

Excellent. We chose Wild Ginger to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary...of all the spots in Richmond...and there are some amazing spots in this town...Wild Ginger is up there with the very best. If you want delicious sushi (and other food options!), excellent service, cozy, clean & inviting atmosphere...did I mention delicious food!? The rotating specials...the drinks...very nice. Wild Ginger continues to impress. We have been going for many years and hope they stay open for many, many years to come! Thank you for a wonderful anniversary meal.

Wild Ginger is an upscale restaurant serves well prepared dishes with top notch service. The comprehensive wine menu is impressive.
Wild Ginger is also my favorite place to have sushi. Each bite has full of flavors, fish was very fresh. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of the time to avoid long wait. They also offers nice outdoor seating with heating lamps. I am Chines and very picky with Asian cuisines, Wild Ginger manages to deliver a total package. Please note, food is not cheap as you would normally see at a Chines or Japanese restaurant, but the experience is well worth the extra expense.

The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the service is wonderful. The bar food could use a bit more variety, but I understand that they are working on that. Wild Ginger is one of our favorites.

I had lunch here today and it was delicious 😋 really enjoyed the spices on shrimp wrap. The sweet potatoes fries were hot and tasty too

Wild Ginger’s old fashioned cocktail is the best I’ve had! I love mezcal, and even though it wasn’t on the menu, the bartender made me an Oaxaca Old Fashioned - it was utterly amazing! The happy hour menu is wonderful! I recommend the lemongrass chicken dumplings and teriyaki wings. Wild Ginger is the best sushi place around. The atmosphere is cozy, but upscale and hip. Wild it is a place a woman can go alone comfortably. The bartenders treat you like family, and so do the neighborhood patrons!

Great atmosphere and pricey food that really is worth every penny. This Asian inspired restaurant features unique sushi, and fantastic steaks. Not to mention a superb wine selection cellar.

TLDR: It can easily get to $100 per person here. The only thing I would pass up are the appetizers. Priced high and the portion being very small (tasty though). Any selection is fantastic here really. They really don't disappoint.

Food: Sushi here is actually unique. They feature custom rolls, and monthly fundraiser rolls that are sure to excite. Much different than your typical selections you'll find elsewhere. The ribeye steak was cooked nicely and served with a beggars purse. A must try for anyone not wanting seafood.

Appetizers: we ordered the Tuna sashimi and the ceveche. While excellently presented and tasty, I felt the portion was small compared to the size.

Drinks: A wonderful wine selection here. No need to bring your own. The bar is a great hang out during happy hour (good luck without reservations).

Dessert: Night n Gale I've cream sandwiches, chocolate lava cake, and lemonchello. Perfect in every way and decadent. Leave room for sure.

Atmosphere: while our table edge the most private, this place is clean, fun, and the staff is wonderful. Cassady was a great. Really helped us with our dining experience.

Cassidy was absolutely amazing and all too happy to answer any and all questions regarding the menu. Food was fantastic. Looking forward to going again as last night was my first time there and I was very impressed.

Wild Ginger has a great atmosphere. You must get there early to get a seat at the bar. The bar food specials are unbeatable for price & quality.

Saturday evening for two no wait for a table. Large selection of apps and drinks. She got a vegan tray with 3 rolls and I got roaring fire roll and a Cali togo all 5 stars.

The food was delicious. Lamb lollipops were cooked to perfection. Excellent sushi and dessert. Service was excellent, highly recommend!

Wild Ginger is of the best sushi places we have been to— and we have been to many. I didn’t expect much when we got here, but the sushi ended up being surprisingly delicious. We came here for dinner on Sunday.

It has a slick, modern interior. Classic pop songs from the 90’s or so played through the speakers. I loved the giant, lit up artwork behind the counter. We got a table inside though they do have a patio as well. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

For sushi we got a combo, the pear specialty roll and salmon ikura (fish egg). We got the scallop appetizer as well. The scallop appetizer tasted luscious and it came on crispy yet not overly so wonton with some cream cheese on it.

The pear tuna sushi had ahi tuna and spicy sauce on top yet it was very tasty. Salmon ikura was one of the most unique fish egg flavors we had tried— in a good way. We had a marvelous time, and wonderful sushi.

Had an absolutely amazing dinner here!! All of our food was insanely delicious! If your into Asian food this place is it! Will definitely be back the next time I’m in Richmond! Also get the espresso martini! I wish I knew the ingredients it was the best I ever had!!

My favorite dish is the seabass! I've never ate seabass, until I ate at Wild Ginger. The house salad I so good with the sesame ginger dressing. You will not be disappointed!

Great quality sushi, nice presentation and cozy atmosphere! Highly recommend the specialty rolls and the lamb lollipops (the peanut sauce is insane).

Incredible staff. Probably completely overqualified, give “Tim” and “Gerard” a raise. Phenomenal service, friendly, talented, best restaurant experience I’ve had in Richmond and best in Virginia as a whole too. Food quality 11/10

Best sushi in Midlothian area and a great atmosphere for a nice dinner. Indoor and outdoor space when the weather is nice. Gets a little busy, but they do a great job!

My son and I had a wonderful experience. Great food and Great service.
