Clarendon Animal Care - Columbia Pike - South Arlington

I've owned animals for 25 years, and Clarendon Animal Care is the best vet I've ever worked with. They are compassionate, thorough, and they go the extra mile to make sure my dogs and cats are living their best lives. They explain everything to me so I can understand it, which allows me to actively participate in my animals' care. The Fear-Free experience is a revolution in animal care.

Wonderful team and service at CAC- south. With an anxious and excitable rescue, the ability to come for service without meeting another dog is really nice. We have had great visits and consistent responsiveness all the way around, sometimes with multiple encounters in a week. Thanks again!!! This top notch service does come with a high price tag too. By far the most expensive vet we have ever encountered, so save up!

Absolutely love this place. They were so friendly and thorough and my cat felt pretty comfortable considering the circumstances. They made me feel very welcomed there. And I also appreciated that the vet did not rush through and really gave me plenty of time to talk and ask questions.

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing every doctor and tech is at this practice is. They are extremely patient, extremely organized, and do everything with care. We have a very reactive dog and they make her vet appointments soooo easy. They really care about each pet and never make us feel like she is difficult (which she is!) and have helped us so much with finding resources and taking care of her health. They always answer the phone quickly and take care of questions/concerns immediately. They are thorough about writing things down in her chart and every element of the practice is detail oriented. Every single staff member deserves a big gold star! ⭐⭐

An absolutely incredible vet clinic that practices Fear Free approaches. They have seen two of our highly anxious pups and were so wonderful with them, gave them amazing care, and cared about them and us. Especially impressed with and appreciative of Alyssa and Lou.

I cannot say enough good things about CAC, the entire staff is fantastic- friendly, knowledgeable, well organized and incredibly supportive. Amazing in office, very responsive via email if you have a question or concern. We used them for our early puppy care, many questions and an urgent medical item and they’re just the best

We had a really positive experience at the Columbia Pike location. Parking was easy in the garage. Go to the left after pulling in and there's an elevator available. It wasn't totally clear but also not challenging to walk around and find signs. The doctor and technician were kind. They had knowledge of the medical issue and a sympathetic approach to managing cost for vaccines and scripts. I had two vaccines onsite and filled one of two while there, the other at Costco. I did not feel as though my love for my pet was in question because I inquired about cost. Hands down the best experience I've had in the last three weeks from urgent vet to another clinic I experienced. I will be seeking care here for as long as I live in the DC area. Great doc and tech

We absolutely love this practice!! The staff and vets are so friendly, helpful and understanding. We rescued our dog a few years ago so he is very anxious and nervous when going to the vet. They were so patient when working with him, they always went at his pace and they always made sure that he was comfortable. They were so helpful in finding a behavioral therapist to help with his anxiety. They are the absolute best and we cannot recommend them enough!!

Reliable veterinary care. We have taken our dogs here for years and we recently switched our cats over. They are quick to respond to emails and calls, the front desk staff are very helpful and the vets provide insightful diagnosis and treatment. They have an urgent care nearby as well.

The staff are always professional yet friendly. They have a board to greet your pets when you walk in, and the veterinarians I've worked with (both here and in the Clarendon North facility) are very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

We recently moved to the area from NY/NJ and my dog is no stranger to vet offices. She has a chronic condition and I was really nervous about moving a distance away from our established veterinary team. A few friends/acquaintances recommended Clarendon Animal Care and I'm really glad that we chose this for our primary care vet. Both locations have been awesome - easy on-line scheduling options, adequate time to meet/discuss with the doctor, and excellent communication re: lab/test results and follow-up. They even called me once after putting in an appointment request to try and offer sooner appointment times(!). My girl can't have typical treats because of her extremely sensitive GI but they even have that covered by offering hypoallergenic food as a treat. They are definitely a bit pricier than I'm used to, even with coming from the NJ/NY area, but I think the quality of service and attention to detail is worth it.

The best! Our dog has been a patient here for over three years now and consistently gets attentive, personal, and fast care. The front desk is always prompt to answer any unexpected questions that may arise as a pet owner. We moved out of the area a while ago, but we still make the drive to be seen here. Thank you to the staff for caring for our pet so well!

I’ve had an amazing experience here - both for my puppy’s regular puppy visits/vaccines and for a couple of ongoing medical issues she’s had. They’re so great that my dog cannot contain her excitement when she has a vet visit! The reception staff is very welcoming, patient, and responsive. I especially appreciate how above and beyond Dr. Taylor has gone in treating some ongoing issues with my pup both at visits and asynchronously and in coordinating a needed specialty consult in the middle of a long-distance move!

Our reactive dog has received amazing care from their Fear Free endorsed staff. We’re thrilled to have found this practice and drive an hour plus to work with them. They take time with each client and animal, never making the experience feel rushed. The front desk staff are amazing and the staff is very responsive to calls or emails. We’ve had many of our own and foster animals over the years and worked with various vets. This practice is by far the best we’ve experienced in NoVa.

I have never written a review before but I cannot say enough FANTASTIC things about this vet. An incredible group of people from the front desk to the vet staff. They truly care about the well being of my pets. I've never felt so safe bringing my pet to the vet. Wonderful welcoming group, always take care of my pup and answer all of my questions!

Wonderful employees, so timely, caring, patient, absolutely great experience with my dogs. So lucky to have found them.

Very good with cats here -- all about making them feel safe. They have a questionnaire you can fill out ahead of time about what your cat doesn't like about the vet, and they try to make it as pleasant as possible for them. They also gave my cat churu during his visit, which made listening to his breathing/checking his weight/etc SO much easier!!

We bounced around to a few vets in the area before finding a home at Clarendon Animal Care South. The staff and vets are friendly and knowledgeable. You are seen quickly for your appointments. Pet parents are allowed to come in with their pet (as long as you take appropriate precautions, of course). We look forward to a long relationship with them helping us take care of our pup!

Our dog has been going to Clarendon Animal Care for a while now and it is by far the best vet experience we have ever had. We have lived in five different cities, each with different vets, so that says a lot! The offices are well kept and you can tell the staff really love and care for all animals. Everyone has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it has come to difficult health circumstances for our pup as well. I am so grateful we chose to go to Clarendon Animal Care when we moved! Highly recommend!

The best office in Northern Virginia! Wonderful, knowledgeable and caring veterinarians and vet techs.

I've been taking my dog to the CAC North (in Clarendon) location for years and have always had a fantastic experience. I recently moved closer to the CAC South Office, so decided to take our new puppy to the new office for his first checkup. We were able to get an appointment very quickly (you can easily schedule online).

The day before the appointment, I called asking questions about the office policies with Coronavirus. Dr. Lockhart is the best and spent 10 minutes talking to me about the plan for the appointment and even kindly sent an estimate of the costs for the visit. The office was easy to find and brand new! When I got to the appointment, Dr. Carter was the vet working. She and the technician were so welcoming and even let me safely watch the exam for my dog.

This office is top notch and I highly recommend getting your pet's care here!
