We love coming here for our daughters swimming lessons. Bathrooms are clean and staff is quite nice.

Loved it. Great place to swim. More private, less crazy, more relaxing than the other pools in this county group. The spa area, also smaller but worked well. Love the stand up pressure valves! Though the shower area is much smaller, I had no problem being able to shower since the place was never crowded while I was there. Showers, bathroom stalls, and locker room very clean. Just a quieter more serene place to workout and swim. I wish I discovered you at the beginning of spring instead of the end of summer, and my time in Alexandria. If the kids move back to the area, this Grammy will come here first for my summer exercise program.

Very calm and clean rec center. The swimming facility is older but things are clean and organized. I really liked my sons swim instructor. She managed the kids very well and was very encouraging and structured.

If you're a Fairfax county resident, the value for the pool and rink is unmatched. I'm bummed out they are closing for two years but I'm also really excited about the new facility they are building in it's place.

This is a great rec center. The facilities are always clean, staff is friendly and ready to help, the pool area is very well supervised by lifeguards. They are very knowledgeable and friendly but enforce safety rules for the benefit of all swimmers. The pool is my main interest so I am not going to try to describe other areas.

My son and I went here for the pool which was very nice.

Clean & brightly lit! Have only used the ice rink, but the pool & gym equipment look great too, and classes look fun.
The rink is great, esp "Adult night" Mondays if you're a serious skater or worried about tripping over adorable children. Ice is well maintained & generally not too crowded.
Unlike many big local rinks, they have the push-things for newbs to learn on. Great experience alone or as a family.

Front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the ice rink was reasonably priced and not too packed. I can definitely see this becoming my home rink despite living nearer to Medstar.

GReat facility and fine folks. Sorry to see it has to close for a few years but time takes its toll on equipment and the machines that maintain the ice, pool and exercise rooms. Good luck to all.

This is a very community oriented rec center and the people are friendly. The only improvement is to offer classes based on the needs of the immediate area and community. Perhaps look for feedback from those that live locally. I am sure the facility is older but it is not 'cookie cutter' like many of the new types of structures I have seen. I like the style of the place and it is clean. I would like to see exercise and fitness for young children--elementary and middle school aged.

I love this place! Mostly go for the mountain bike trails behind the facility, but the ice-skating and pool are very nice. the mountain biking is exceptional, with lots of fun trails. Would strongly recommend taking a trip here.

Amazing!!!!! I lived in the county for years before going inside the rec center. Unreal what the centers offer us a gym membership. The pool, hot tub, free classes! 4 year member now.

The ice rink is old but it is home for special needs speed skating children for years, so it's a five-star location for us.

I loved the hot tub! It's 4 feet deep so you can stand up in it or you can sit on the benches and relax! Had a great experience.

We love Mt. Vernon rec!!! My daughter takes private figure skating lessons there and we love her coach Ann. Also, all the staff is super nice and helpful.

I love the RECenter. It's super clean, has friendly staff who have excellent COVID precautions in place and has everything I need equipment wise for my triathlon training.

Nice neighborhood rec center...I only use the pool which is pretty clean and well watched by a variety of teen-twenty something lifeguards. Covid screening, social distancing and sanitizing are religiously practiced.

This place is a kids place!! My kids have been going here for fun in the summer for many years, they learned to ice skate, swimming, they say it's fun, lots of art and playing:-)
