Being an octogenarian, I was concerned that a knee injury I sustained from collision with a large dog might require surgery. To my relief, Dr. Ken Honsik was able to see me very soon, and after a careful and thorough examination (including ultrasound and x-ray) assured me that my right knee was in fact OK, except for a ligament contusion, and would recover within a couple of weeks. Dr. Honsik was very professional, informative and pleasant to talk with. I couldn't have been more pleased. Both the staff and the physician were excellent.

I saw two doctors at CSOI - Dr. Mann for a fractured tibia and Dr. Eppley for an ACL surgery. In fact when I told people I was having ACL surgery, the first question asked by several people was whether I was seeing Dr. Eppley. I found my experience with both doctors, including the PAs who work with Dr. Eppley, to be pleasant and professional. My surgery went really well and my recovery has been progressing very nicely. I would highly recommend CSOI.

Saw Dr. Mann for an ankle injury from volleyball. Filled out the required paperwork, was immediately ushered into a room. Dr. Mann entered a minute after the nurse left. Heard me out and then gave a diagnosis and treatment plan that seemed spot on.

Dr. Ken Honsik was just the best. I haven't been to a doctor that has shown as much support and care for my injury as Dr. Honsik did.

Dr. Honsik really cares about me and my recovery, and the staff are exceedingly kind and helpful.

Saw Dr. Chen for chronic pain in left shoulder, left hip and neck. He was dismissive and pretty disinterested in helping me. I'm 60 years old, but very physically active and so want to be able to use my body without chronic pain. He basically said, "well, your posture isn't great." Gee, thanks. I pay more attention to my posture than the vast majority of people.

Constantly showing lack of urgency and empathy. Their behavior is bordering negligent as they don't fix your medical problems. I suggested I would transfer care to another provider's office yet they don't even call to follow up on my concerns. My knee problems have been on their radar for over 6 months yet they do nothing to improve my quality of life or pain. It took so long to even get an mri ( that required me to call them over 10 times to get completed). Do not advise coming here for your orthopedic problems. Many delays in care

Office staff is terrible. was given a surgery date and told to call a few weeks before the date to confirm. Sounded odd but I thought maybe that was their practice. Called 3 weeks before. Was told the Dr was out of town and I never had a surgery date then. And his next available date was 3 months later. Save yourself the headache and just go elsewhere. You will end up going elsewhere anyway - don't waste your time here.

My surgeon was great Dr. Brad Z; however, the front desk staff had a lot of attitude and spoke to me in an unprofessional manner. While I was speaking to one of the receptionist (Isabelle/Kim), she turned to the side and yelled: "I told you girl" to her coworkers. What's more ridiculous is the $15 fee for filling out a disability form that only required the physician's signature--nothing more. The form was forwarded to the wrong surgeon's assistance--by surgeon scheduler that had just planned my own surgery a couple of weeks ago. From all the reviewers here, the office manager should be let go for hiring incompetent and unprofessional personnel.

While my actual in-office visit was good, the follow up was absurd. No call back on next steps. I called, left multiple voicemails. Is anyone ever answering the phones here? When someone actually called me back, they were rude! Anyway, 6 months after my appointment, after I finally got in touch with a human they said I need to come into the office to discuss my MRI in person. So no information to be shared, and my knee is in serious pain. Will not be following up with them. Will take my business to an office that actually cares about their patients.

Love my surgeon but the office manager is the most incompetent office manager I have ever dealt with. We send paper work that needs to be fill out by her and returned to either my disability claim or my insurance company ASAP and it takes her two to three weeks to send back one page report. I thought maybe it was just my case but after looking through the reviews I see I’m not the only one she treats like this. If I were you I would see if the doctor you want to use works with different office and go to that office instead.

Avoid this practice. I was referred to them by my physician for follow up after a bad bike accident. After explaining my injuries, they told me they couldn't see me because I had a previous surgery on my hip that was not done by one of their doctors. That surgery was when I was 16. I'm 37 now. Completely unrelated injury There was no explanation for this other than "I'm new and training". I wouldn't expect them to car much about their patients with this kind of policy.

Rude office staff. The lady at reception made inappropriate comments to a patient about how she finds the doctor attractive. I was ridiculed and insulted by the doctor I saw. Then he tried to sell me on a costly physical therapy web service that is not covered by insurance. They also billed my insurance for occupational therapy that I did not receive! My rheumatologist recommended another practice near Jack London Square and I wish I had listened to her instead of trying this practice.

"CSOI specializes in the treatment and prevention of injury related to sports, exercise, and everyday life. We use cutting edge technology including MRI, X-ray, and musculoskeletal ultrasound to diagnose and educate our patients regarding their physical condition. Comprehensive care includes accurate diagnostics in addition to the most modern surgical and nonsurgical treatment plans to meet all our patients’ potential needs."

Interesting. What is missing is that they will not entertain an appointment for you if you've had surgery before. I just moved to the area and was recently denied an appointment to check up on my knee which has been causing a lot of NEW problems (which I happened to be discharged from the military for) and was rejected because once upon a time 2 YEARS AGO I had surgery. Something doesn't calculate.

A sincerest THANK YOU for your lack of support, untimeliness in getting back in touch with me, and most especially for your gracious disservice to disabled veterans in the Bay Area.

The staff in billing is absolutely terrible. They did not put any notes on one of my cases and told me that they will call me back with updates. Did not receive any call for a month, and when i called back, i was told that they have no idea what i am talking about and that there are no notes on my case.

Their customer service is horrible! Every selection on their phone tree goes to voicemail, I have left 4 messages over the past month requesting my records and have not received a response - the total lack of courtesy is a reflection of their lack of professionalism and shows no regard for patient care.

I called to make an initial appointment and when I FINALLY got through to a person, the guy who answered the phone was just rude and unhelpful. Sounds like they are too busy to care for people. No thanks. I’ll go elsewhere.
