Martinez Outpatient Clinic - VA Northern California Health Care System

This facility is by far the best post-acute and rehabilitation facility I have ever experienced. The staff is dedicated to caring for veterans, the meals are good, and the facility has excellent rehabilitation resources. Meeting places and outdoor areas are available to veterans and visitors.

I don't know what that guy is talking about. You cannot get care unless you have a VA card. I have been going there since 2006 and find it a great VA Clinic. The staff is always helpful and polite unless you come in with a chip on your shoulder. I have had great care in audiology, ophthalmology, general medicine, emergency room, dermatology, pharmacy and wound care.

The anonymous poster from 5 years ago is stating wrong and misleading information.

The VA in Martinez was not Always Great [back in the 70s - 80s & early 90s] when it was a Hospital.....
they had some major issues.

As you might have figured - I've been using the VA for some time! Much of how this Outpatient Clinic operates along with the Doctors & Staff performance relates with the expectations of Senior Management Team & Director of the Northern California Health Care System... in addition to the budget they are given to operate. We [the Veterans] are extremely fortunate as the past two Directors & the current Director is excellent! He demands a lot from everyone - treating all Veterans as Customers & providing the best service possible and the highest quality health care to all those who served our country.
My personal experiences are excellent! Have outstanding Doctors and received excellent care through the VA in Martinez. When I required surgery on my heart - I was provided options although chose to be sent to VA San Francisco "Ft. Miley" & obtained the best care from a team of the amazing doctors & educators.

Now - I cannot say enough positive good things about the VA in Northern California. I know the VA has problems in many other parts of the country & they are working on correcting those issues.

In the greater SF bay area we are fortunate to have one of the best! Work with them - talk with your care providers. Be specific - write down your issue so you remember the details you want to mention.
The do not care or have anything to do with your service connected claim- or your disability rating!

VA doctors are there to treat your health. They do not work on your disability claim or rating. Go see the County Veteran Service Officer in Martinez to get help with that issue. There office is just across the street.

Always get great, thorough and timely service. I feel that the staff really cares about us veterans.
Shout-out to Nurse Jonah for her consciousness and Dr. Alba is always pleasant and patient. Of all the healthcare plans I've had in my life (Kaiser, Blue Cross,Pacificare, etc)this is the best!

Been with Martinez Va for 10 years now and we have a great team of Doctors. Our life in the beginning was overwhelming with appointments but it was necessary. We are now in a better place in Life, marriage and I can't thank our team at the Va enough...

The VA clinic in Martinez has always accommodated my needs. I found that emailing my doctor about a complaint will either get me an appointment with her, or a referral to someone who specializes in a particular area of concern.

I’ve been there 10 + years nothing but Greatness the care , the Doctors the pharmacy all of it Excellent work They All Do for All of US Veterans Shout our to Dr Koton , Dr Fernandez and Mr Joseph to collect your travel pay !!! Way to go handling business for US .

I'm very happy with the help at the martinez VA site. I've been going there for about 3 years and anytime I've had a question, it has been answered. Feb 2017. I've had just as long a wait for an appt as I've had with my other doctors.

I enjoyed working at the VA and helping veterans. This clinic is nice because it's close by and do not have to go far.

Thank you doctor Ann Vercoutere, dedicated,efficient and friendly, during 2 visits for minor surgery on my hand. I've never been treated so well!

I am looking some help for my husband. He had a stroke in Oaklahoma City. I don't know how bring him to Califirnia. He's a veteran.

Went to the VCS glasses store. Great service and explanation of available options. Way too many choices.

I guess I could complain about waiting in the waiting room, but we're just happy to be able to wait than not being able to wait at all. Great facility.

My uncle is there and everyone is so nice. And someone is always cleaning, love it!

Wife says they take better care of me than Kaiser.
