Yan's China Bistro & Bar

The food was excellent! I was with two of my counterparts as we were working in the area (I am from Florida, one counterpart from Las Vegas and the last from Visalia) and we had dumplings, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef with combination rice. It was absolutely fantastic!

The service was incredible and we asked for absolutely nothing during our meal as it was taken care of before we even realized we needed it done.

I highly recommend this location as you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to them for years. I'm here in Danville and it is worth the drive. They have flavorful food and the portions are nice size. They are always willing to accommodate changes to the dishes themselves.

Finally, CHAR SIU (CHINESE BBQ PORK), just like East Coast (NYC) fried rice! Best I've had since moving here 13 years ago! Still looking for egg rolls with thick, bubbly-crispy skin!

Best Chinese food in Pleasant Hill. Food is tasty and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Been going here for 20 years and food is consistently good. Green beans with pork is my favorite. Easy parking in back of restaurant.

Went there for the first time with my brother-in-law and his wife not knowing what to expect. It was around 5 and they were just opening for dinner. Plenty of parking in the back, off the street. Walking in from the back you walk past the galley and see several chefs furiously working their woks, preparing some of the nights features over roaring gas flames. The decor is like you'd expect, somewhat dark, but we were seated in the empty bar station where there was still some daylight sneaking in. Service was prompt and attentive. We ordered some apps and they came in minutes. Our hosts had been before so we let them order for the table. I'm sorry that I can't be specific about what each dish was, but I can say every serving we had seemed better than the one before. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The food was as good as any Chinese food I've ever had. Every bite was singing with flavor and was outstanding. We will back.

I've never had a bad dish. Everything is fresh. The sauces are so flavorful and match to whatever you're eating.

Long time family favorite. Have had many delicious dinners there, and excellent wine list. Very prompt service and owner is often there to keep things running smoothly.

This is my go to Chinese place in Walnut Creek, and basically in the entire contra costa county. I have yet to find a better restaurant.

Hot and sour soup - I love this soup. It has plenty in it, not like a lot of other places, it has substance and very good flavor. It’s a great balance of sour and spicy.

Mongolian Beef - since Mongolian beef is my favorite dish, I like to order this at every restaurant I go to and judge them this dish. This is my favorite place to eat Mongolian beef. Good tender pieces of beef, the right amount of onions and great flavorful bites. Always a great dish to order here.

Braised tofu - nice mix of vegetables and tofu. There was really not much flavor to this dish. I was expecting a bit more but it turned out to be a watery taste to the sauce. I ended up with raw carrots in my dish so that was not very pleasant.

Atmosphere was good, even if it was very noisy because of the party a few tables away from me. I sat in the bar area - they usually have sports playing. The water was always filled and I was always tended to.

My favorite Chinese restaurant by far in the area. The food is delicious and the service always great. My favorites include Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Veggie Potstickers, and their Moo Shoo Chicken. The staff remembers us when we come in and greet us with our drinks of choice. They've also got a great lunch special.

Yan's is just outstanding. Great food reasonably priced, great staff, the owner is people friendly down to earth. Fried crab, shrimp fried rice, and the calamri is my favorite. You can bring your own wine. Great atmosphere for gathering with friends, family, coworkers. Located in Walnut Creek. If your not happy at Yan's, then your just a unhappy soul.

I don't often review places but I had to make an exception here. Great service and super tasty food. Had the mango chicken and it tasted so fresh. Will definitely be telling friends and family to come by here

Me and my family love this place! They treat us all so well and always have amazing food at a good price! There eggplant and beef dish was awesome!! I wish there were more places like this!

Yan is like your favorite uncle, always greets you with a smile and happy to see you. There is no better Chinese food in the Concord and all the cities surrounding it. There food is fresh and cooked to order. I have never, never been unsatisfied withe Yan's dishes! I also have never had an order that was messed up, missing something, or given the wrong item(s). I order take out there a lot so that says a lot. Lastly, it's a Mom and Pop store. His sons, daughter, and cousins(I think, might be in laws). Yans is the best and I have tried so many other Chinese restaurants

Service is impeccable. The Lemon Chicken was so good I wanted to order another to take home. Sadly, 4 egg rolls are actually 2 egg rolls cut in half. That is kinda cheap.

Some of the best Chinese food ive ever had. Been going here for years. Its a family favorite. They have a full bar and a decent wine selection too.
