Lafayette Library - Contra Costa County Library

One of the best libraries in the Contra Costa County system! It’s expansive with an array of different meeting rooms, labs, and centers for all ages to enjoy.

There’s even outdoor seating as well which is greatly appreciated in good weather.

The librarians are very kind, polite, and helpful. The architecture and build of the library is roomy, open, and has lovely wood finishes.

I go to the library to read and study. I found this to be one of the best libraries in the Bay Area to accommodate my needs.

Tonight's music was by the Five Cellos, a group from Los Angeles. Loved it. But it's the next-to-last performance sponsored by Gold Coast Chamber Music. 35 years! Will be missed!

Gem of a library, Lafayette is lucky to have this. I love the many events they host every week, and the interior is spacious and welcoming. The book checkout is fast and easy, and there are ample places to read your book outside. What could improve: the book returns (inside & outside) have been broken for many, many months. Also, the parking inside is slightly awkward since it requires you to go in and up a twisty ramp and often turn around since the small number of spots are often full (always full during events like children reading hour).

This is a wonderful place, and is 2-3 blocks from BART. Open, airy, and modern architecture make it very enjoyable to be here. They have many lectures and other programs, including science, music, and gardening programs, book groups, yoga lessons, etc. Also, the Friends-of-the-Library bookshop is wonderful--lots of modern fiction and classics, but also large sections of history, psychology, economics, art, biography, science, travel books, gardening and cookbooks, health, pregnancy-childraising, college boards study books, children's books, home-improvement books, etc.

What a fabulous library. Truly, you must realize how incredibly blessed we all are to have FREE access to computers, books, DVD'd, and the internet at this lovely library. It is beautiful, clean, well kept, and staffed by wonderful helpful people. It is even open on Sunday!!!! Anything you need that is not onsite (the book collection seems to be small to mid-size to me) can be ordered for you and you can get it within days. Very comfortable chairs / seating and lots of it! Five stars all around.

Greatly kind and helpful...even through the slog of a Global Pandemic. Helped me create a full-service access to an even broader selection of Kanopy videos online. I can't wait for this beautiful Public Resource to open back up!

Had a party in the Hall it was perfect!!

This is a really clean and well-kept library. I sometimes go to do some work and when I feel I can't stand being at home anyway. There's always plenty of seating around, so I never have to wonder around too much.
