This bakery is excellent! The customer service and friendliness presented by the staff was outstanding. I tried several of the items that were available. The cupcakes are certainly a must have. Very rich in flavor and the icing ties everything together. Love By The Slice also offers coffee to go along with a morning pastry. Love By The Slice also caters and makes custom cakes if you order ahead of time! If you are in the Tacoma area this is the place to satisfy your sweet tooth!!

We were too excited to sample we forgot to take before pictures! Absolutely delicious! These are some of the best treats! The strawberry shortcake cheese cake was the best, if I had to pick, but really it all was so very good! The owner is wonderful! This is definitely a place to visit!

The BEST bakery in the Tacoma, WA! The owner of the bakery is one of a kind. Her staff is so talented. Extremely professional, clean, a variety of options and the FLAVORS to choose from. So delicious!!

I ordered cupcakes for my twin's birthday party and everyone loved them, especially the strawberry shortcake cupcake, which is my favorite too. It's a must try! My oldest daughter is super picky but absolutely LOVES the chocolate cupcake! We had a child at the party that couldn't have gluten or dairy and they were able to make a really great cupcake for that child as well.

When I picked up the cupcakes for the party, the owner's son helped me carry the order to the car. I forgot his name but he's super sweet and I really appreciated his help!

Every time we drive by the store, my twins shout, "Love by the slice" and talk about how good the cupcakes are.

In addition to cupcakes, they have many other great treats as well. The other day I tried some strawberry cobbler and oh my gosh, so very YUMMY!!!

We're so lucky to have this great bakery in our neighborhood. Myself and my girls look forward to stopping by and trying many more wonderful treats.

Me and my little brother visited this place for the first time today And we loved it and we will definitely be back. My brother got the black and white cupcake and I got the red velvet cupcake. They were both terrific. I don’t personally like Cream cheese frosting so I didn’t eat my cupcake with it but I will say that the cupcake itself was fantastic. My little brother gave his black-and-white cupcake a 9/10 out of 10 so that must mean it’s good. We also bought a strawberry shortcake and it was probably the best strawberry shortcake I’ve In my entire life . The person at the front had fantastic customer service she was super sweet and she was great at helping us pick out what we wanted to purchase again we will be back!!

We had a lovely wedding cake tasting. Cassandra was welcoming and honored the event. The cakes were fantastic. Hands down the best I have eaten...ever. Not too sweet, great variety. It's a family business and they don't yet have a formal tasting room but I appreciate the coziness. Prices were at market rates but they will work with a budget.

This was an amazing experience there cakes are delicious we had a party Saturday and to this day my friends are talking about how good the cake was. Anyone needing a cake trust you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is peaceful and the owner was so friendly and I could talk with her all day. Ordering another cake real soon

Delicious cakes of every imaginable flavor and size - large celebration cakes, small bundts, slices, cupcakes and bites. My recent flavor favorites have been Cookie Butter and Lemon.
Make sure to talk to Calvin when you go in - he works the front of the bakery and he is amazing! Detail oriented, friendly with an infectious smile that makes your day better. His mom, Miss Williams, is the owner - and you can see where the professionalism and smile come from.
I ordered a Juneteenth cake from Love by the Slice - a delicious Red Velvet that my family RAVED about. Calvin asked all kinds of questions - about the filling, the sides, everything - and then made sure the cake had a beautiful top as well.

We absolutely loved working with Love by the Slice for our wedding! We did a dessert bar with cupcakes and pie bars that were a hit with our guests! The cutter cake was the most delicious chocolate cake and they provided a service to give us a repeat small cutting cake on our 1 year anniversary so we don’t have to eat frozen cake. Their customer service was top notch and we would highly recommend working with them for your big or small event!!!

I'm so glad this place is across town from me or I'd probably have to sign up at the gym next door.

Red velvet is my favorite cake, so it was the first thing I tried here. Even though it was a cupcake (sometimes cupcake textures and frosting ratios can suffer compared to their full size siblings), it was PERFECT. Everything I want from Red velvet--a deep bitter chocolate flavor, cut with just enough sweetness and acidity from cream cheese frosting, moist and rich but not sickeningly so, and a lovely addition of candied pecans on top that complemented it nicely.

I also got the vegan Snickers bars for my partner and he loved them. I'll be trying the lemon cake next.

This place is appropriately named. There's just something about these sweets that has a touch of homemade quality, I feel the love! Thank you!

What can I say about this amazing bakery except WOW! Cassandra was absolutely the sweetest from the ordering process to when my husband picked up. It was a last minute order (we're talking 24 hours) and she whipped up the most delicious birthday cake for my moms dinner. It was a cookie butter (biscoff) cake. My mom's favorite! It was the talk of the party! There were NO leftovers. Actually, I didn't even get a picture of it to show off because it got devoured! Anyway, if you're anywhere near Tacoma and you need a cake, call love by the slice you won't be disappointed. Thank you Cassandra!

This place is such a gem. The ladies here are so kind and courteous and their baking is amazing! They made my daughter’s wedding cake and everyone raved about it. It was so delicious and moist! The best cake ever!

She was able to fill my order with less than 24hour notice! She was as sweet as the cupcakes!

Got my wedding cake done through Love by the Slice (approx 150 guest, tall three tier cake) and they absolutely crushed it! Would give them 6 stars if I could. I had a very intricate design idea and instead of turning me away, Cassandra embraced the challenge and executed it perfectly. So beyond grateful for them and their wonderful service. Everyone at the wedding loved how it tasted as well.

The owner, Cassandra, literally saved my best friends birthday party. I was incharge of decorating and dinner and someone else was in charge of buying the cake for my bestie's 30th birthday. I find out at about noon the day of the party that the cake fell through. The birthday girl asked me to get whatever frozen/ premade/cake I could find but was very dissapointed. I called multiple places looking for an emergency cake with no luck. The I got ahold of love by the slice. I asked Cassandra for a white cake with raspberry filling (birthday girl's favorite) asap. Cassandra wiped it up fresh then and there AND delievered it 30 min before guests arrived (just a few hours after i placed the order) for a very reasonable price. It was a gorgeous cake, very tastey, and (most importantly) on time! 10/10 I would reccomend them to my own mother and buy another cake from her in the future. Thank you!

We used Love by the Slice for our wedding cake and desserts. From the second we walked into the shop just 6 short weeks before our big day, Cassandra and her team treated us like family. They were so kind and accommodating, which was a relief to us after being snubbed by other wedding bakers in Tacoma. Our dessert table spread looked absolutely beautiful, going far above and beyond my expectations. Our guests raved about each one of our desserts and there wasn’t a single crumb leftover! We were 110% pleased with our experience at Love by the Slice and would wholeheartedly recommend them for weddings, or special occasions, but really, no occasion should be needed to pay a visit to this wonderful business.

The desserts here are delicious and the customer service is great. The strawberry champagne cake and cupcakes are amazing. I tasted the strawberry champagne cake at an event in Oct 22 and shared with Cassandra, the owner, it was a must have for my husband’s birthday the following year. I ordered the cupcakes and my husband loved them.

When I went to pick up my order, parking was terrible due to construction in the area. No problem. Cassandra let me know, so calmly, that my order will be delivered to me in my car. Now that’s great customer service!!

Last week I went into Love by the Slice Baking & Catering Company for the first time. As soon as I walked in the place smelled so good and I was immediately greeted by the owner and her son. I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes to be picked up on May 5, 2023 for a special celebration. I ordered vanilla, chocolate, red velvet and lemon which is the combination I selected. They were fresh, moist and very flavorful. I will definitely go back and recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed. If you need to order anything they have a wonderful selection of bakery items, flavors and the option of buttercream or whipped frosting. It was a delight to find this bakery and I appreciated their friendliness and the ease of placing an order. Thank you for a great first impression!

Ordered a cookies and cream 2 tier cake for my husbands birthday recently and WOW! It was beautiful and my husband and guests said it was the best cake they’ve ever had. Easy to get in contact with them as well. Thank you Love by the Slice!!
