The decor had me lost and all the great choices made my order even harder. Very generous portions and a very warm inviting atmosphere in the heart of historic Hangtown.

Chicken fried steak was huge! Thin but not as lean as I’d like it. A tad too much gravy for me but overall good. The portions here are large. Seevice was great and welcoming.

Such a nice place for brunch! The portions are big and the food is tasty. We ordered the crab Benedict, Texas French toast with a side of hash browns and toast, and a grilled chicken sandwich. We got a pecan pie slice to go and it was very good as well. The waitress was very attentive and polite.
Would definitely come back.

Friendly staff seated promptly. I had an omlette with a short stack . My wife had the BLT and on the way out the door she grabs an apple dumpling I've heard nothing but how it's so good and to die for.

This is one of my and my partner’s favorite places in all of town, hands down and no questions asked, and we eat here pretty much weekly. I’ve never once been disappointed in the food, everything always being well made and well prepared, and the service is absolutely phenomenal. I’m very much a breakfast/brunch person and I’ve always been very happy with my orders- sweet and fluffy French toast, savory and sweet chicken and waffles, it’s all delightful.

Our usual waitress, brilliant and hardworking Nicole, has helped to make every visit a very genuine joy. The staff is hardworking and incredibly pleasant, the overall atmosphere a cozy and comfortable one. While some of the restaurant definitely falls into some classic Placerville styles, it has never felt stuffy or past its age, it’s comfortable every time. I’ve eaten here earlier in the morning and later at night, it has always been a delight to visit. I recommend it to everyone I can, those visiting town and those who have lived here for ages, I recommend it to all.

Amazing food and service. Place looks beautiful with a old school country kitchen flair. Owner gave my wife a brownie when I told her I jokingly said I wouldn't buy her one. A+

Came on a Sunday brunch and it was pretty packed but wait time was less than 5 minutes. Service was prompt and server was very amicable. Food quality was to be expected, nothing fancy but filling and good for the price. Soup was hot, sandwiches made correctly on a modified order.

Erika, our waitress, was kind and helpful. Very good with our kids, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere of the place was all fun! From the historic parking lot (would like to know the history) to the vintage decor. Our kids were thrilled! That car is really something! I always wanted to go to your restaurant growing up, so it was fun to take the kids there while we visited the area.

The food portions are insane here. Great place for breakfast! Just bring an appetite or people to share with! The kids really like the decor (antiques).

I have been coming to buttercup pantry since I was a kid so it's a sentimental place. The food is always so good! Their plates are hearty home style cooking so make sure you come hungry. Staff is always so nice and I love the warmth of this place. Feels like Grandma's house.

Great Music! And the food was good too. Maybe someday I will get up the guts to try the Hangtown Fry

let me just say how unbelievably clean this place is! the service is friendly and quick. Last, my food was amazing! My husband got a corned beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and a side salad, which he enjoyed every bite. Love this place and definitely plan to return.

The strawberry rhubarb pie is amazing. One of my favorites and hard to find. We by stopped Friday to pick up desserts and went back Sunday for lunch and more dessert. Their vegetable soup was delicious, fresh and tasty and so were the fish and chips My wife had the Fire burger which was so good! The potato salad on the side was a very small serving but very yummy. I will ask for that instead of fries next time.

Best brunch/breakfast at this restaurant. Interior is so beautiful and unique. Their service is really good and staff is friendly. We loved our brunch items as they were delicious. Highly recommend this place.

This place was amazing, the food was really good, lots of comfort food to choose so the choices were hard. Lol. On the way out the door. The apple dumpling caught my eye and I had to have one to take home for later. It came with some caramel syrup to pour on top when ready. Omg this desert did not disappoint.. It was all yum sounds the entire time I was eating that delicious creation..
