I am very grateful for this fire department, and specifically for Stigger, Volpi, and Gonzalez!

I visited this fire department the day after Christmas (December 26, 2023) after calling to verify that they can remove wedding bands. I'd tried unsuccessfully, several times, to remove my wedding band myself, as my ring finger had become more swollen than I'd realized as I approached the third trimester of my pregnancy.

In my case, removing my wedding band required the assistance of three talented, committed firefighters! Stigger initially tried removing it without cutting it using a technique he'd learned from a doctor, which had worked for all five of the people he'd previously helped with this, but it unfortunately didn't work - it was incredibly painful, just like trying to remove it myself had been, and my finger was either too swollen to let the ring come off or I just couldn't stand the pain long enough to get the ring past my knuckle. Either way, I was more than happy and ready for the band to be cut off, and the three of them kindly, and patiently, spent 20 minutes or so working together with each other, and a ring cutter followed by pliers, to cut and remove the band.

All three of them were kind and professional throughout, and even offered to take a photo of me and my husband next to a fire truck - with my recently cut off wedding band - as a memento. I greatly appreciate their help and am grateful for this fire department's services!

The non emergency phone number is always a great resource for information about codes & issues with safety compliance. As usual, Station 67 is great about answering questions & if they don't know the answer, they give you the number of someone who can. I love firefighters!!

On Thursday December 28, 2023 our daughter was on Lincoln Blvd taking us from Marina del Rey to LAX. Near the Culver Blvd. overpass a firetruck was coming at us head-on. It was going the wrong way on its way to whatever emergency. We could not hear the siren until it passed us. Fortunately, there was the opportunity to move to the right otherwise this stupid fire department driver would have created another disaster while trying to get to another one. It is beyond disgusting.

I called the Playa vista fire department after my carbon monoxide monitor went off and they guy said “well if there was actually a leak you’d be dead by now sooo” And then proceeded to treat my call with no sense of urgency and concluded the call by saying “if you want something you can just call 911”

Extremely disappointed.
