VCA Santa Monica Dog and Cat Hospital

This animal hospital and doctors and staff have been wonderful! I have seen them for many years and trust them dearly with my furry babies!
They have helped me with an older family dog, one poodle mix rescue, and one very rambunctious golden doodle pup! I recommend them highly.. I am calling today to schedule an appointment for my rescue who had allergies snd has been stressed since the July 4 fireworks !

I have been bringing my rescue here since October of this year and have been coming back time and time again because the staff here is great and we have been getting excellent service with each and every visit. We have seen Dr Parks and she is wonderful! So caring and thoughtful with my dog. I will say VCA overall is a bit pricy but when i needed to make an appointment at the drop of a hat they were readily available and able to accommodate. She actually enjoys coming to the vet and seeing her friends here in the office, which is a first for me. I have never felt rushed when coming here and the doctors have always done really thorough exams and have been very detailed with our visits on medications, procedures and overall health. Love this place and have been ever so happy with the services provided for my pup.

This practice is clean, well-organized, understanding, and most importantly caring. They care for your pet as if it was their pet, as if they’re family, because they are. If I had to leave this review as one sentence, I’d say that this veterinary office surpasses expectations consistently and if they cared for humans, I’d be their first patient.

There are so many wonderful things I could say about every individual at VCA Santa Monica. As a whole, this is the most welcoming, kind, attentive, and caring veterinary practice I’ve ever visited, and as individuals each employee shares those same qualities and so, so much more. Dr. Johnson, Dr. Lee, Patti, and the rest of the staff at VCA Santa Monica cared for our cat Princess Cuddle Bear from the day my significant other and I adopted her until the day we said goodbye, and we could not have imagined spending our last moments with her surrounded by anyone else; surrounded by individuals who we felt truly loved her like family.

The staff is professional, flexible with appointments, attentive, and they will NEVER rush you out the door, or rush through an explanation. Through our cat’s handful of medical issues, we never once felt as if our concern for our pet was less important than their time- which is something I could never say about other veterinary practices we visited.

We brought our cat in for oral surgery, teeth cleanings, nail trimmings, regular checkups, and emergency appointments, leaving each time calmer, with a healthier kitty, and with such a sense of genuine care that we knew it'd be okay. Whatever you're bringing your pet in for, VCA Santa Monica will handle it aptly.

VCA Santa Monica is just the best of the best. I don’t know how else to describe it. If you’re worried sick about something that’s probably harmless but you’re worried about your pet? VCA has you covered. Accidentally double-dose medication and you’re trying to explain this over the phone between sobs? VCA understands, translates through tears, calms your fears and tells you what to do. It’s difficult to explain how much each employee at VCA Santa Monica genuinely cares for your pet, so I hope this review is convincing enough for you to find out for yourself.

Thanks so much to the great staff and doctors for the wonderful assistance with Daisy. My dog may be tiny but she’s not the easiest to deal with when it comes to medical visits. You always go out of your way to help!

We love our vet's and the staff at VCA SANTA MONICA AND Broadway. They're always kind and loving towards our pets and us. Highly recommend going to them if you're needing a good doctor to care for your fur babies. Keegan and Cagney give them a 5 star thumbs up

I have been with VCA on Broadway for 4 years now for my cat. The service is friendly and efficient. Just went for a yearly physical exam on my pet with shots and boosters and several analysis. Dr Furhman is very thorough and explains the results of the tests. The staff is nice and courteous so I only have good things to say.

I feel so lucky to be just blocks away from VCA Santa Monica. The staff is wonderful - friendly and always ready to help you any way they can. Whether on the phone or in person, I feel acknowledged and cared about.

The Medical Assistants are knowledgeable and responsive, treating my dog with expertise and love. They have relayed my questions to the doctor quickly and thoroughly. Dr. Lee has them send me a comprehensive answer right away.

And Dr. Lee himself, with whom my doggy girl and I have had the most contact, is expert, kind, gentle and honest. If an expensive test isn't urgently necessary, he will work with me to come up with a good plan that will help us see if further testing is necessary. He always impresses me with his knowledge and thoroughness.

Veterinary care is expensive, and when your beloved animal is unwell, it can create a lot of anxiety. Is she going to be okay? Is this going to cost me a rent payment? Will they be gentle and look deeply into the problem? In those and all the ways that matter, my canine companion and I are super satisfied with VCA Santa Monica!

Dr. Lee and his team are fantastic! I can’t say enough good things about them. I’ve been taking my dog there since she was eight weeks old and couldn’t be happier with the level of care they provide (and I’m extremely picky, especially when it comes to my pup). I also appreciate that they are very cost conscious and only recommend procedures or tests if it’s truly necessary (which is very refreshing, especially after experiences I’ve had with other vets). Dr. Lee is also so nice and patient when it comes to answering my questions - it’s clear he truly loves what he does!

While the appointment wait time is long, as are ALL vets right now, the doctor we saw (on a Saturday nonetheless) was kind, patient and compassionate. My 80lb dog is a bit anxious and skittish around new people and Dr Lee immediately recognized this, sat on the floor with him, gave him treats and was extra patient with him while he warmed up. He was great in answering all my questions and walking me through the options he suggested for treatment. The vet tech was also so great with our dog and explaining the medications/treatments that Manny had that day. Thank you VCA!

Love this VCA vet! We just found them a few years ago and they are professional, warm, and thorough. Our vet is Dr. Johnson who is lovely -- takes a lot of time with our two cats and patiently answers all our questions and concerns. Both our cats had some teeth issues and she did the surgery. Keep us informed all the way through -- even called us the day of surgery to ask our permission to remove a few other problematic teeth she had uncovered when one cat was under the anathesia.

Recently took our two cats back in for routine vaccines – went very smoothly. Staff was warm and friendly. They even offered to do a needed nail trim for a small fee. Cats got a little extra spa treatment for their nails!

We've been taking our rescue here since we adopted her a couple months ago and the care has been exceptional! Dr. Lee is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. Making appointments is also quick! I'm so glad we took our pup here and have these awesome vets & staff helping us to keep our girl in good health.

Wow. The VCA team saw my pup in a pinch and I left so impressed by this group. Dr Parks was amazing; thorough, knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with me and I know that’s despite having a lot on her plate. Allie was the vet tech/assist and spent a lot of time and was very caring and kind. I am so grateful for this team and impressed by their skill, knowledge and care. Highly recommended

Perfect location and the staff is super friendly! They always remember the pupper and treat him very well. Our dog is never nervous to go there and always excited. David has taken such great care of him for his shots and makes the process painless and easy.

I have two dogs and two cats and love bringing my pets here. I have a dog who is very skittish and dislikes vets due to a traumatic experience when he was a puppy. They did an amazing job with him and he doesn’t mind going. Still takes coaxing but they really go out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Highly recommend this vet (plus they are open on weekends, the only time I can go!).

We are so happy we found this VCA location! Every vet here is amazing and truly cares about our dog. They get down on the floor with her, play with her and the take time to answer all my questions. I know my pup gets the best care when we take her here, and nothing is more important.

The VCA has helped our dog many times. They’re always super friendly and the veterinarians are very attentive and detail oriented. Our dog came to us very ill when we first got her and thanks to the staff here she is now a happy healthy pup!

We have two bichons that we treat like children, one is very old, and this was our first visit to Dr. Lee. He was very good with our dogs and he knew which one of our dogs was the 'smart' one. Lol. He was very professional, kind, and quick with our dogs. We would highly recommend this vet!!

Dr. Gina Johnson and her staff take such good care of my furry baby. He was in need of some pretty extensive dental work, and VCA Santa Monica provided me so much peace of mind during surgery and ensured I was prepared his recovery. This place is great! Lovely, helpful and informed staff members! I needed a last minute appointment to get my pup her last round of vaccinations and they were able to fit me in quickly and same day. 😊 Definitely gonna be bringing my two cats here as well!
