Jonathan Brown Hair

Jonathan is the best. After living my entire life with short hair, I decided to finally grow my hair out in my late 30's. As any long-haired man knows, if you want to do it right, there is a method to growing out and maintaining your mane, which is both scientific and artistic. Jonathan guided me through the entire journey, including tips and tricks of how to navigate those awkward phases along the way.

Had an amazing cut, colour and blow dry with Jonathan today. Not only is he incredibly talented, but I had the most fun I’ve had in a long time spending three hours under his care and attention. Such a great experience. Love him!

Johnathan is simply the best. As a long haired man, I am always incredibly protective over my locks (and beard). John is incredibly talented. Every time that I see him he leaves me looking fresh! His salon is neat, clean, and well designed. It really fits with the whole Santa Monica vibe. He's professional, easy to talk to, and definitely one of the best stylists I have ever been to. Been going to Jonathan for a couple years now and always love my haircut! One of the things that sets it apart from other haircuts I've gotten over the years is it looks great as it grows out as well. The studio is a very comfortable and private space with a really nice vibe. And Jonathan is such a genuine, friendly guy to spend the time with.

I’ve been going to Jonathan for haircuts and highlights for 4 years now and I love every visit. First, it’s awesome to be in a private suite without all the craziness of other stylists and clients a couple feet away. Second, Jonathan is very consultative in his services and will work with his clients to deliver the best styles and colors for their respective hair-types. He’s definitely not a one-trick pony like other stylists I’ve been to. Third, I constantly receive compliments on my hair and I’ve sent several friends to Jonathan. He’s a great stylist and really cares about his clients!

I have been going to John for about 4 years and he is the absolute best! He is very skilled in color and cut, my girlfriend now goes to him as well and said his coloring of her hair is the best she has ever had done. The private suite is nice and John is an awesome person to hang out with. I have referred multiple people to him and they are all very happy I did. You won’t find anyone better in Santa Monica I promise!

I've been going to Jonathan for 3+ years now and my hair has never looked better. He's also a great guy: Very easy to get along with, fun, chill vibe in the salon. And, he's got the coolest dog ever.

I recently went to see Jonathan on a recommendation of a friend. I’ve been struggling with what to do with my hair as it’s receding. I don’t like the typical salon setting. Too many people, too loud, no privacy.
I have to say I really enjoyed my experience. Jonathan talked me through the reality of the situation. Helped me readjust my perspective. Yes my hair is receding but ... it’s just hair.
Jonathan not only gave me a great cut but also gave me the confidence to toss aside my insecurities surrounding my hair loss. “Consider hair to be the frame of a beautiful picture. Lose the frame, is the picture still not beautiful?” This I repeat to myself when those annoying insecurities pop up.

Jonathan saved me from the worst haircut I'd ever received. My wife found Jonathan via Google (on a Sunday) to attempt a haircut rescue before I flew the following morning. As I walked into his studio looking like Morrissey and Kim Jong Un's love child, I'll never forget what he told me:" we'll at least try to make it look like it was on purpose."

Fast-forward three years, and Jonathan now cuts my son's hair as well as my wife's'. My son loves that he can "go to school with bed head."  I'm convinced that my terrible, no good, very bad haircut was meant to be.

Jonathan is a great stylist, but he's also become part of the family. He is a funny, compassionate, truth-telling, and loving friend. He makes Santa Monica feel like home.  Thanks for staying later that Sunday!

Have been going to Jonathan for years and won’t go to anyone else! He listens to what you want and is very knowledgeable. I always enjoy my time with him and leave feeling confident and cared for. He makes scheduling easy and maintains a clean and comfortable space. Highly recommend.

I haven't had a cut in a salon in YEARS, due to my hair being destroyed by stylists in the past. I came in to see Jonathan on a friend's recommendation and am in love with my cut! I have curly, unruly hair, and now I can wear it curly or straight and it looks amazing either way. So grateful I found someone who listened to me and worked with me to achieve the look I was going for. Will be going back time and time again.

I was googling a haircut place for men that was still open at approximately 9pm or approaching that hour. Where Google lead me to was a booth ran by a woman by the name, oh hell I don't remember now, but she sat me down and proceeded to calm any fears or regrets I might've had as she began to dial me up. Within the hour she had me hitting on all cylinders again. I looked so good I had to kiss myself.... I had it going on again.

Jonathan has a wonderfully curated space that he fills with his truly delightful energy. Not only is he creative and skilled, he is just an awesome human being. I've been going to him for the last year and walk away so incredibly happy!

Jonathan has a great aesthetic and eye and is a talented stylist - been coming to him every month for the past four years. Highly recommended.

Jon has been my first experience going to a stylist, and he's truly helped me evolve into a mature-looking person, with a style that is bespoke to me, which is a huge step up from what I'm used to. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
