Plato's Closet Tacoma

Great place and always friendly. The manager Sarah is always helpful and very friendly. My favorite Plato's closet to buy and sell for sure. I see negative reviews and majority are saying they low ball prices when buying. People need to remember first this is a business and there to make money. Secondly just because your clothes has tags and are "brand new" doesn't mean that's what they are worth and they are only going to purchase what's in style and obviously what they know will sale. Third- they are very open about what they will pay and its usually about 30% of what they think they will get. I have sold literally thousands of dollars of clothes and shoes to this location and others across the country and Plato's closet will pay more than any other place that I have found. I recommend going into the store and seeing what they have on the racks and asking what they are looking for. I do this and have always tried bringing in those items if possible and I have never sold everything I brought in but with a little research and asking questions it will make your trip there and also the employees jobs much easier and obviously they are not trying to offend anyone by not purchasing but they know what inventory is needed and just because it's NWT's doesn't mean they will be able to sale it. Just a little tip from someone who has done many transactions with numerous Plato's closets buying and selling.

When I first came here (3 years ago) i HATED it haha. the customer service was in the gutters and the vibes were a 0/10 but fast forward to these last two years and I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences. I’m constantly in & out and I’m a returning customer. I find new gems & name brand finds for CHEAP weekly / biweekly. I would definitely stop by and check it out if I were you! ⭐

To summarize my review, if you are coming here to BUY clothes, and not to SELL clothes, then disregard the low reviews and just pretend that the score is like a 4.5.

I believe this because every time I go to a Plato's Closet to buy stuff I have a great experience, and there are high quality and low priced clothes. I just went and bought a bunch of clothes for a trip. Spent $100 and got 4 basically brand new buttons ups (one still had tags) and three shirts. They all fit well, were stylish, and from great brands (e.g., Patagonia, Ralph Lauren). One of the shirts, which I liked the most, only cost $5.

It seems crazy that such a great establishment would have a 2.7(!) score, but when you look at the bad reviews, it's almost exclusively people being salty about their clothes not getting purchased. I think that Plato's Closet is probably just really choosy about whose clothes they purchase. I actually appreciate that they turn down purchasing so much of other people's stuff because that's probably all the stuff that I wouldn't want to buy!

This place is a great place to BUY clothes. I have got many nice items for a reasonable price here. I have not sold clothes here, but highly recommend if you’re looking for any of the popular brands.

Tbh I saw the reviews and got nervous when bringing my clothes to sell at this location… however when I came in they noticed me and my husband and took care of us . Had us check in and hangout while we waiting . They ended up taking a good amount of clothes from us. Told us to return with some more of our good clothes . I was happy with my experience. Will most definitely do this again

The girls at this store are amazing, they made an exception for me when I came in to sell 15 mins after they stopped excepting items for the sell .. I explained I drove from Port Orchard and asked if they could please make an exception and Jaya graciously said yes.. I could tell these girls had had a long day and the last thing they wanted to do was stay later than necessary.. this is the kind of customer service you want when you go shopping and they deserve to hear what a great job their doing.. I've been doing business with the Plato's Closet in Lynnwood for years, and never once have I had a bad experience. They went above and beyond one night when I showed up with a bag full of clothes to sell only to find out that their computer system had been down for several hours and wouldn't be able to help me untll it was fixed. I mentioned this was the my last stop for the evening and I didn't have cash for the return bus ride home. Without blinking the manager proceeded to take some money from her pocket and without counting it handed all of it to me and said here this should be enough. If you need a little extra cash in your pocket I highly recommend you come to Plato's Closet. I'm a customer for life!

Cleaned out my closet and got back close to $35 my first trip! With the staff advise I brought in the right items they were looking for and it worked! :) This is a great place to clean out your closet and restock with other great brands at a discount. The staff are friendly and the store is well kept.

Pretty good stuff. I like that it really is like going into a closet. There are no duplicates and everything is of wearable quality; like no one is going to think you picked that jacket up off the street, but they probably wouldn't think you bought those shoes brand new. For those of us who like to be fashionable but on trend, I recommend stopping by (after I'm done perusing).

I like this Plato’s I always find cute stuff here I have never donated here but the experience I had with the staff wasn’t bad. The girl checking me out complimented my outfit and was very kind.

Great place if you want rob find brand name items at great costs! I found brand new Nike flip flops and American eagle jeans at great prices. However just like most stores, you have to have patience if you want to find something really good

I have been dealing with the owner and her manager for awhile now. And I'll have to say at first I was confused about what they take and why they didn't take some high end stuff. But after takin a step back and looking at their side of the business, I get it. The customer service I recieve is second to none. I am always treated with respect by the whole place and the owner made sure to let her crew know that I am to be acknowledged as a GOOD customer. All I did was pay them the respect I want to be paid and talk to them like the ladies they are. Thanks girls, keep up the good work!!! Jp.

Platos Closet is truly the hidden gem of Tacoma. The staff are absolutely amazing! Friendly and ready to help! Great customer service all around. Plus all their apparel is gently used and in good condition. Everything is afforadble and each piece is unique. I see why they have to be so selective when it comes to purchasing a customers clothing. Thank you Platos Closet for allowing your customers to have nothing but the best!

I love Plato's Closet! I'm there every few weeks or every few days! LOL It's a very friendly place and the employees know me by face & name! When it comes to selling my items not all meet their standards but that's ok, I'll try another time or find items in my closet that they are looking for.

Sold clothes this morning and the entire staff was so so helpful. They helped take my items to my car that weren’t purchased. Sarah’s customer service was above and beyond.

A fantastic place! The owner is very sweet and the offers on clothes are very fair. I traded in a pecoat and a few jeans and got more back than I was expecting. If you're military go in for miltary Monday! Great prices great selection go here before going to any name brand stores.

I love Plato's Closet, my first experience was an amazing experience. I had fun and the staff were helpful and they were respectful, they kept smiles on their faces and they kept a smile on my face. I would recommend them to everyone if were given the chance.

Platos closet is An amazing place to go shopping. It's not also a fun place to shop at but also an affordable place to shop at. They have everything thing u need at a reasonable price .when my friend took me there for my first time I was just in awe it was so amazing and the workers are so helpful! If you are ever lookin for a place to shop at then platos closet is the place!!
