Pomona Mayor

Tim Sandoval...Mayor of Pomona turned out to be the "make-nice- Mayor" who leaves everything "business" up to the City Manager... who has shown over the years she has "managed" this City into total decline. And, her whopping salary drains more...returning very little.
The City sufferes from being "over-run" by Homeless. Now It's getting a 24/7 full shelter built to establish state-of-the-art help! Real help (thanks to Benita)!
He's decided to empty the City Treasury with NO PLAN to bring money in to replace the spent. San Bernardino did that and went bankrupt...got a bail-out from the Federal Government. That was under Obama...but look who's there now! No bailouts can be expected for Pomona under the Trump Administration. Last time I heard, it's listed as a "Santuary City"...which puts it on the "don't get ANYTHING list".
Lots of Grants available but he isn't interested...that's business. He doesn't DO business...go see City Manager for that. Let's just "make nice", pretend everything is wonderful. Smile...joke...smooze! While he throws a Children's Family Festival right in the Civic Center that is filled with toxic waste from Homeless squating for years... leaving excriment, urine, vomit, blood and garbage stains to seep into the benches, grounds, gardens and air (that smells so bad it gags one having to go to the Mayor's office to meet with him).
Can't he see it? Can't he smell it? Obviously he doesn't care enough about the health and welfare of the Community he is elected to represent to invite children to the "toxic dump site" we call Pomona's Civic Center. CLEAN IT UP! First things first!
There is a moral and legal obligation to provide clean streets and sidewalks for businesses, residents and visitors to an Americal City. You fail to do so!
It's going to take a lot of "guts" and mustering up deep courage to lead this City out of "darkness". I pray he finds a way!
He has not managed to show enough leadership yet to unite his City Council. They don't back each other...no shows at each other's events.
P.S.
Showing up in shorts for a rescheduled (for his "personal" reasons) meeting to bring him "assets" isn't professional. But it does show a character trait..."make-nice...let's relax...just enjoy the ride...I won, I'm Mayor now....I can do what I want..."
One note of causion: Being Mayor isn't a popularity contest. It's a real job. A hard one in hard times. It calls for real leadership...and a lot of hard work to turn this once great City around.
Like I said, I'm praying for this one...
