Shilo Inn Suites Hotel Pomona Hilltop

Caesar and Chris provided excellent customer service, they really helped us out. We showed up last min after being told from multiple hotels "we are full". These suites are great, although a bit classic, a great deal none the less.

Ceiling in my room is coming apart. Breakfast us served in restaurant across the parking lot. No eggs or cereal. Just bread, bread, bread. Owners friends came in and he made them an omlet. What a slap in the face...

Hotel Room - Looked *nothing* like the pictures. We had this sky blue room with a ripped and stained couch. The tv barely worked and was outdated. The shower leaked. You can tell a room is old when the plastic is YELLOWED. The phones didn't work either - kept flashing a message when we didn't have any.
Hotel Itself - The driveway up is cobbled and really tests your shocks. The parking lot is built into the hillside, so the parking spots are EXTREMELY slanted. I ended up scraping the bottom of my car. There are signs but nothing you can do to prevent this. The facade is dirty, paint chipped. For some reason the lobby is BEAUTIFUL but extremely outdated. Then you go to the elevators and they have posters from the 80s, there are holes in the walls from where things have been ripped out. The carpets are raised in some places, so that's a tripping hazard.
Hotel Breakfast - What a joke. The breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant (which is open to the public and right next to the elevators to the rooms so anyone can wander by???) stale bagels, warm milk, and they were so cheap they didn't even turn the lights on, they just opened the curtains.
Hotel Staff - I ended up getting engaged that night (yay!) I called ahead asking the staff if they could send up to the room champagne, wine, cake, something??? I was told they aren't a 'party hotel' and the guy hung up on me. That was the kicker.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Stay at a different hotel.

The new rooms are OK but much smaller than the old ones. Staff isn't very friendly or helpful.
