Hyman & Tio

Great experience - every time! I have been a patient with Dr. Tio for over 10 years. Due to the fact that I live 6 months of the year in Maui, it is not always easy to get an appointment, as Dr. Tio is booked up quite a bit. Every time I get to see her, I'm so impressed with how thorough she is, and the appointments with her never feel rushed. To me, it seems that she really cares for her patients and I feel like I am in safe hands with this Doctor, which -nowadays- is not a given, as many doctors are sloppy, rush through appointments, and want to sell their patient all kinds of (hormone and other...) treatments to make extra money. Not this one :)

Unfortunately, she is not taking new patients, which is not ideal, because I wish I could send my daughter to her.

I fully do not understand the two previous negative reviews. My friends and I have seen Dr. Tio for over a decade. She has delivered our babies and given us our annuals as smoothly and professionally that a trusted doctor would. Dr. Hyman is great too. Their office staff is quick to help with information and returns calls quickly. Jen Lund

I can’t thank Dr. Tio enough!! After I had the WORST experience at another office (due to a mistake made by another medical professional) I called Dr. Tios office crying because I was so scared. She was willing to see me same day within the same hour. When I went in she listened to my concerns she answered all my questions and was able to follow up on the ‘mistake’ that had been made previously at the other office. She reassured me I was ok and i immediately felt relief. Again, I couldn’t thank her and her staff enough

Dr. Tío is the best OB she really connected with my wife she was like another member of the family strongly recommended this Dr. I read a few bad reviews that were a shocker not fully understand what happened there. Anyhow Dr Tio strongly strongly recommended from the Lujan family!

I didn't think I was going to be able to have children after two myomectomies, one miscarriage and not to mention my age of 42. However with the guidance and loving support of Dr. Tio and Hyman I have a beautiful baby boy. He is now 8. I look back at the delivery pictures of how Dr. Tio and Dr. Hyman worked as a team during my cycerian. And how they encouraged and lifted me along the way.

Dr. Hyman and Tio are the absolute best! They care about their patients and invest their time into them. Their staff is also amazing! I cannot say better things about the whole team!

WORST STAFF PERSONALITIES. THE MOST RUDE PEOPLE WHEN DISCUSSING HEALTH CARE. My experience with Doctor Tio was phenomenal. She's an incredible Doctor, but the front desk staff have turned me OFF to going back.

The front office was just the worst staff I’ve ever encountered. It is hard because I absolutely adore Dr Tip, but fixing problems or speaking with the office staff is so difficult. I was extremely nice and was met with a harsh, disrespectful, and dismissive tone right off the bat. This happened on more than one occasion. I want to return to Dr Tio but I’m honestly afraid to go back because of the staff. I also tried multiple times to get them to get the doctor or nurse to call me but they never gave them the message.

Extremely rude staff

I had an appointment for 3:30 and showed up at 3:42 due to heavy traffic. I called the office twice to warn them and there was no answer. When I entered the office, Julia told me I had completely missed my appointment and that I would need to reschedule. She did not ask if I was in pain, if this was an emergency, etc. She was cold and completely rude. I had asked if there is anyway to fit me today since I took off work and drove an hour and she said no because you completely missed your appointment. I am not sure how that is possible if I am 12 minutes late. I asked if she can see if the doctor could squeeze me in and she said she would ask. I waited until 4:15 for them to then tell me the Dr. is not able to do anything. Meanwhile, while I was in the waiting room they were busy talking and did not answer any of the phone calls, so I’m not sure how anyone would have been able to reach them.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW DOCTOR, I HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST THIS OFFICE. Unfortunately having rude front office staff like Julia affects the quality of the office. If Dr. Hyman wants to retain her patients, I advise she hire well trained, empathetic staff members who know how to communicate with patients and allot appointment slots longer than 12 minutes.

The most horrible office staff my family has ever encountered. Shame on the doctors for hiring such ugly hearted people. Angela specifically is the worst humans we have ever met. Stay away from this office.

Dr. Tio and the front office here were just awful to me during my pregnancy. I had to switch doctors going into my second trimester bc of the absolute lack of care and extreme rudeness of this office. After a couple of years of office visits...when I got pregnant she still couldn’t pick me out of a line up of pregnant women. Very detached and odd. Worst part? When I went to my new doctor...they accidentally forwarded the wrong patients confidential information. The new docs office was in shock. No wonder you can’t find them on Yelp! I don’t hold grudges but I really want to warn other pregnant women...stay far far away!

The front office staff here is incredibly rude. I went here for years and just dealt with it because I liked the dr. The front office won’t even let a patient leave a message for the dr to call if they don’t think it’s necessary. Sorry, secretaries don’t get to make medical decisions. Save yourself frustration and go somewhere else

The worst experience i have ever had in a Drs office or actually in the hospital with Dr. Tio. She has the worst bedside manner. I can go into details but i wont. I would NEVER EVER rexommend this doctor!
