Lauren Hyman, MD, FACOG

I hesitate to write this glowing review because it took me awhile to get my first appointment with Dr Hyman, but I'm doing it anyway. Dr Hyman was knowledgable, thorough and very upbeat during our visit. The physical exam was the most comprehensive I've had in years and she addressed issues that I hadn't even thought to bring up. Her staff was friendly and professional and I was seen exactly on time. I cannot recommend Hyman highly enough.

She is amazing! She's been an amazing doctor! I had to have surgery and she was so calming before and actually called me personally afterwards to check on me. She is awesome and i'd recommend her to anyone!

Doctor Lauren Hyman is a wonderful and friendly person...and a very knowledgeable Gynecologist. I can recommend her to anyone who needs a great OB/GYN that really cares about her patients.

Dr. Hyman is one of my favorite doctors I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. She’s bright, vibrant, and caring. She cared so much she even recommended the venue where my husband and I got married, which was so special to me. I missed a telehealth appointment by a few minutes and called back, explaining that I missed the appointment, not knowing that I had a 30 minute time slot. The woman on the phone proceeded to argue with me. She told me that the doctor doesn’t take any appointments after 12:30 PM even though my appointment was booked for 2:30 PM. I tried to tell the receptionist that I called back within a few minutes and she said the doctor had already left even though I had a 30 minute appointment. She was not amenable to even understanding what I was trying to say, showing absolutely no compassion and no care. I even tried to say I’m sorry and she had the nerve to say at the end the phone call in a very dismissive, condescending tone there’s, “no need to argue with me!” It is so sad that something so special to me and my husband was spoiled by my favorite doctors receptionist. My husband said he no longer wants to start this journey with the office because of the astonishing attitude that he heard from her. I really wanted to start this journey with Dr. Hyman and I’m really sad that it won’t be with her. You never know if someone is having a bad day or what they’re going through, kindness goes a long way and also comes back in tenfold. Will miss you Doctor Hyman 🥺

Dr Hyman is a good doctor to see for the yearly checkup, but she’s not available when you are in pain or bleeding and you expect to see her in a few days. If you were lucky enough you can get an appointment in a month. Sorry but I’m changing my doctor.

Extremely rude staff!

I had an appointment for 3:30 and showed up at 3:42 due to heavy traffic. I called the office twice to warn them and there was no answer. When I entered the office, Julia told me I had completely missed my appointment and that I would need to reschedule. She did not ask if I was in pain, if this was an emergency, etc. She was cold and completely rude. I had asked if there is anyway to fit me today since I took off work and drove an hour and she said no because you completely missed your appointment. I am not sure how that is possible if I am 12 minutes late. I asked if she can see if the doctor could squeeze me in and she said she would ask. I waited until 4:15 for them to then tell me the Dr. is not able to do anything. Meanwhile, while I was in the waiting room they were busy talking and did not answer any of the phone calls, so I’m not sure how anyone would have been able to reach them.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW DOCTOR, I HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST THIS OFFICE. Unfortunately having rude front office staff like Julia affects the quality of the office. If Dr. Hyman wants to retain her patients, I advise she hire well trained, empathetic staff members who know how to communicate with patients and allot appointment slots longer than 12 minutes.

I am a patient of Dr. Hyman’s. (Miha Matei Zeltzer) I called the office today because I have been in pain for one month, on the lower left side of my abdomen. I thought maybe it was a gastroenterology issue and have had an ultrasound, a ct scan and lab work and everything has come back to be ‘normal’. My gastro dr said I should go see my gynecologist, so I called to make an appt. I explained that I was in pain and have been in pain for a month already and was told that the soonest the dr can see me is one month from today and that the best they can do for me is put me on a wait list for cancellations. This is unacceptable. How can the dr not take her own patient who is in pain. It’s like having a dentist who only wants to see her patients for regular cleanings. Dr. If you are reading this, can you imagine if you called your dentist with a tooth ache and you were told the soonest you can be seen is in a month? This is not OK. I am beyond disappointed, especially since I thought I had a GYN who cares. Shame on your staff, as well, for being so cold on the phone.

BEWARE!!! This office has a sign that says that patient is responsible for letting the office know what lab to send samples to. Here’s the BIG problem. You give them the name of the lab that is in your network (in other words covered by your insurance). They send it off to that lab, however If that lab cannot do that particular test, it is sent off to another lab which might not be in your network. This is what happened to me without EVER advising me of this. An annual exam that should have cost me nothing, ended up costing me $250.00.... that’s a lot for a 21 year old college student putting herself through college!

When I phoned the doctor’s office, Julie answered the phone. She was not sympathetic in any way. In fact, she was quite rude. She said, “we have no control of what the lab does after the samples leave our office.” I find this unacceptable. This office needs to have their patient’s best interest at hand to ensure this doesn’t happen again. They can inform the labs that if they cannot do an exam, they need to inform their office so the patient can provide another lab that is in network. That’s the fair and responsible way to handle this problem. Unfortunately, this office is not interested in doing what’s best for their patients!
