Northern Cafe (Temple City)

Came back and saw they remodeled!

Still plenty of parking in the back.

Inside, the layout isn’t open anymore and has a private room. The hostess led me to this room without me asking and I was shocked/pleasantly surprised! My party had only 4 people and yet we were given the nice room (I think cause when we arrived, there weren’t many customers there).

The service was great in providing water refills and when we needed to order more food.

Their beef rolls are impressive!! They are crispy and super tasty!
The soup dumplings are very good and flavorful and the stir fried noodles are delicious too! We ordered the house beef noodle soup but forgot to ask for it without spice, it is pretty spicy!

I also loved the decoration inside the private room. Very beautiful!
They also have really cool dragon chopstick holders.

What an amazing place to eat during pandemic. Out door dining with plenty of seating. High quality fresh meat and make your own sauce. We ordered #3 combo large + other dishes, the prime short rib is so juicy it melts in the mouth.

The owner is very friendly, shares with us his passion to find the best quality product to serve customers. This place recently just open the Yakiniku outdoor seating, so if your in the area, definitely stop by with a few friends to enjoy as the portion is very generous.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in San Gabriel valley area! Good prices with authentic food! And my picky eater son loves their noodle and Chinese pancake！absolutely worth to try out with family or friends gathering!

Yum! Simple Northern Chinese food! Not greasy. Takes credit card. Great for groups with 3 semi-private areas for family dining.

Pancake was crispy.

Spicy chow mein and beef noodle soup were delicious with the medium flat noodle option. Perfect texture. Chongqing chicken is perfectly seasoned.

Excellent noodles, fried dumplings, and in particular, lamb skewers!! I've been coming here for a while, and this place is the best of this type of cuisine in the area. The dishes (e.g. eat w/ rice) are excellent too.

If you are looking for authentic Northern Chinese cuisine, this place should be on your list. The vegetables are fresh and starch dishes are outstanding in both taste and texture.

Dine in is much better than take out as the food is done just right. There are private VIP room sitting options to consider as well.

Both their service and food are good. We made an order of seafood one day ahead, and the fish they offered was pretty fresh.

I’ve had the lamb and beef noodle soups. Broth tastes well balanced. Not too salty. Portions size just right. Definitely worth checking out

Food was so good! The spicy stuff wasn't extreme but enough to make the tongue numb a little. I also liked how they made the Shanghai noodles just a bit al dente. The chonqing noodles were excellent, as well. We'll definitely come here again.

Extremely pleasant staff was served like i was family! The dishes were excellent portions for the 4 of us. We will continue to enjoy Northern cafe

This place is wonderful! The food include both southern and northern Chinese style, beef noodle is so authentic that I will definitely come back❤❤ The space is also clean and spacious. I highly recommend it😊

Fabulous prices for varieties big choices. Frozen dishes are great to have traditional Chinese dishes steam @ home. My kids love the dumplings and Chinese pancakes.

We're excited to see a new Northern Cafe near us! Now there's no reason driving to their Hacienda Heights location to get some good Northern Chinese food! This is probably my favorite Xiao Long Bao and Beef Noodles Soup spot in Temple City. There are 10 dumplings in a XLB order and it was delicious. I must say that it's better than Din Dai Fung and it's a must-try. We like how we were able to choose our preferred type of noodles in the Beef Noodles Soup. The noodles were chewy and in good portion. The broth was rich and we didn't taste MSG. We would definitely come back very soon!!!

Love the food here. Ive been here twice and literally every dish has been a different and flavorful delicious taste. Food has always tasted fresh and wonderful. Looking forward to going back for more. 🖤
