The Cat and Rabbitt Cake Shop

I own a business down the road from here and have been meaning to try it for so long! I'm kicking myself for waiting as long as I did! My husband and I ordered the salted caramel chocolate and the lemon apricot. The chocolate was like pudding. Absolutely rich, decadent, and flavorful. The lemon was subtle but the apricot really shined. The cake was a bit dense but honestly not a complaint. Can't WAIT for summer time flavors!

It’s a little walk-up, take away dessert spot here in Tacoma. Phenomenal cakes, cookies, and cinnamon rolls (only on Sunday, if you can get one!)

One of my favorites is the chocolate-chocolate (posted here), the other is the carrot. Rich, dense, moist…the frosting is to die for! (As you can tell it couldn’t wait for me to eat a piece 😉)

Love this little spot. If you're a fan of Great British Bake Off or any of those types of shows, you will appreciate the craftsmanship and flavors of these baked goods! A slice is a bit pricey, but it's also pretty dang big, enough to split between two people or multiple servings. Definitely a great sweet treat if you're walking around 6th Ave or just passing through on a weekend. Super fun little hole in the wall (literally)

I SWEAR I can eat a WHOLE tub of frosting on their cakes. TAKE MY MONEY! This place is easily going to become one of my favorite dessert places in Tacoma. I went here 3 times in a span of a little over a week and brought the slices over to a neighbor and a friend in Renton. Every flavor was a smash hit with my friends! My boyfriend's favorite was definitely the Raspberry Pistachio and mine was the mint chocolate but I promise you any flavor you pick you WONT regret! Even the super random sounding Lingonberry Cornmeal was AMAZING! I think you guys found yourself a new regular :D

The chocolate peppermint cake saved my friendship with my best friend!! She loved it so much she forgave me for causing some drama a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the cake as well, both that same chocolate peppermint and the German chocolate were delicious!! And the girls at the window were very sweet and friendly. Will definitely be going back for more cake!

I have gone here every week since I discovered this gem and tell all my friends it’s worth the drive to Tacoma. In response to another reviewer— the frosting is absolutely the best part. Usually I can’t eat an entire slice in one sitting.

Finally be able to try the cakes. We drove 2 hours + to get here today in rainy day. No people in line and the cakes were amazing. We got chocolate chocolate and vanila creme cheese berry jam. And friendly customer service to add to delicious cakes.

Found this place by word of mouth. It's very easy to drive by especially if you're not headed to this area. The walk-up window is right along the sidewalk on 6th. We stopped by mid-afternoon by which time a couple of the cake flavors were sold out. Their website lets you know this might be the case - next time we'll stop by earlier because that carrot cake is calling my name. Friendly service and the chocolate cream cheese cake was delicious. Moist and tasty and not overly sweet. We obtained a punchcard because we will certainly go back for more.

Expensive, but totally worth it as a treat. My mom and I went here for the first time last week, and the raspberry coconut cake was genuinely one of the best we've ever had. The brown sugar cinnamon brulee was good as well, albeit very sweet.

When I saw that they still had the raspberry coconut, along with the strawberry lime and lemon mousse, I knew we had to go back for more. All three flavors are great and refreshing. The woman working at the window is also very friendly and helpful.

Wow! These are delicious cakes! Creamy frosting and not too sweet, decadent rich sponge and so many layers! Great customer service and friendly people! Love, love, love!

I've never been a fan of cake, but today this changed. The carrot cake is so moist, you wonder how it maintains its structure. The flavors are perfection.

This is the best cake shop. We ordered a coffe, coconut and strawberry birthday cake. It is $8 a piece but it is definitely worth it. So flavorful.

Sometimes, you just really need a slice of cake, ya know? Fortunately for Tacoma, we have THE BEST bakery (cakery?) right on 6th ave! This little walk up window shop has a big list of cake options to choose from and there are NO bad options. Bright citrus, malt and chocolate, fresh fruity cakes; every slice I've had was incredible, full of flavor and the cake itself is moist, springy and delish. Occasionally they have cinnamon rolls that are OUT OF THIS WORLD! The sugar and cinnamon is caramelized by baking, perfectly spicy and warm, topped with a pile of delicious cream cheese icing. I'm obsessed.
I check their website in the mornings to see what cakes they have for the day and if one sounds amazing, I'll pop by for a piece! Their cake is in high demand and they often sell out and close up before 4 pm; you can check their Instagram story to see if they're sold out before you head over. If you're around Tacoma, it's worth making a stop!

Hands down the best cake ever! And we’ve tried a lot. Something my family started doing during the pandemic was cake tastings. We were blown away when we tried Cat and Rabbitt! There’s nothing else like it! Their frosting is always perfect with cream cheese and their cakes so moist. And we love seeing new flavors all the time! So many great flavors but you have to try their signature chocolate with cream cheese frosting!!!

Yum!! The cake here was so good. You just order at a window, it was very quick! Moist and flavors were 👍🏻. They have their flavors of the day up on their website.

Well I have a new favorite cake, now. Stopped in for the honey sweet corn cake and I am completely blown away with how delicate and delicious and rich it is.

A friend brought me a piece of their chocolate cake when I wasn't feeling well. It was so good. I had to have more as soon as I was feeling better. I took another friend who ordered the chocolate cake I'd had before, and I ordered the carrot cake. Can't stand raisins in their carrot cake, so I was happy to discover they do not put them in. Both cakes were delicious, and we bought one of each of the types of cookies they had as well. Those were devoured in moments. The brownie cookie especially made both of us happy!

We weren't expecting a window on the street, so it was a bit hard to find cat and rabbitt, but once we found it, we were able to pull up in front and grab our order no problem. I've heard it gets especially busy in the mornings- they open around 11:00 a.m., I believe.

There were about eight other cakes that I could see on the counter. I'm already planning my next visit back to try some of those as well, based on how good the first two slices have been. It's a little expensive at $11 a slice, but you are getting one dessert, you're getting at least two and maybe three simply because of the size.

I have been a huge fan of Cat and Rabbitt since they first opened, and I can not say enough good things about how amazing their cakes are, and how sweet and kind they are. When it came time to plan my wedding, I knew I needed their cake. My guests were wowed by the quality and deeply rich flavors of these cakes, and they looked so impressive. Thank you so much!!
