Bar Marco

We had the perfect small wedding reception at Union Hall at Bar Marco. The staff was all lovely and very easy to work with (especially Emi and Andrew!). They helped us customize everything from menu to music & decor. On the day of, the Bar Marco staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The food and drinks were AMAZING and everyone raved about the menu afterward! Can't wait to come back for dinner soon.

My wife and I come here often. We visited yesterday with my in-laws from that came to visit from out of town. They have a great selection of wine and will recommend a pairing with your order. The bar tender is exceptional and even made a mocktale for my MIL who doesn't drink. The menu is creative and ingredients feel farm-to-table. My go to spot for good drinks and good food in the strip district.

We had a great experience and got to taste some amazing foods! I work at Caputo Brothers Creamery and we were in town for an outdoor festival. Bar Marco uses some of our cheese on their menu. The service and the food were excellent. Next time I need to spend the night in Pittsburgh so I can order a cocktail or try some of their natural wine selection.

Been waiting to get a reservation here for a while and finally got to go. Fantastic place with a cozy and calm atmosphere. The food was delicious and slightly on the small portion. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. What blew me away about Bar Marco was they do not accept tip. For a fine place, the 2 course menu was $45 per person which was very reasonably priced. Would come back again

Bar Marco has been, and remains our favorite in the city. Everything is excellent from the welcoming service, to the cocktails tailored to your tastes, to the food and the atmosphere. If you want a delicious meal and good wine, this is the place.

An absolute gem! We really enjoyed our experience here with phenomenal food and cozy ambience. Everything we had taste amazing. I had tagliatelle pasta, the mushroom blended nicely with the fragrance of lemon. The orecchiette was chewy and bathed in beef ragu.

Delicious scallop tartare, milk braised pork shoulder was rich and flavorful! Great wine list and underrated lemon ricotta cake! Amaros to finish were a perfect touch too! You ought to indulge here.

First time in Pittsburgh, wanted to try the best restaurant in town, and this didn’t disappoint. I’m absolutely in love with their potato gnocchi. The desserts were all right but the meal itself was WOW!! We also found out that it’s “no a tip” restaurant which made it very affordable for what we got!

Wow. Bar Marco was phenomenal! We chose this spot to host our rehearsal dinner for our wedding after finding it online and seeing the "wine room dinner" option. Typically they sell per seat up to ten seats but we had 11 people in our party and asked if we could book it out and they could accommodate. Needless to say Andrew was wonderful to work with planning our event, even in the uncertainty of COVID with percent capacity and alcohol service restrictions constantly changing. In the end, we had a private dining experience on their back patio with a five course meal paired with wine. We even were able to exchange one of the wine pairings for a bourbon cocktail (our favorite liquor) and the drink was so delicious even the non-bourbon drinkers in our group said it was tasty! The personality of the staff was so upbeat and positive, you could tell they loved what they do as they delivered and explained each course and beverage pairing. Other reviews have made comments about portion sizes but we did not find that to be a problem at all. Looking down the table, everyone's plate was clean after each course but at the end everyone was commenting on how stuffed they were because it was so delicious. Fresh ingredients, great staff, wonderful taste, amazing atmosphere -- our family could NOT stop talking about what an incredible dining experience our rehearsal dinner was. HIGHLY recommend!

We ate at Bar Marco tonight at the Bar and Jason was our server/bartender. The cocktails were out of this world and so was the wine. Food was very tasty! Great job!!

We had our June 2022 wedding at Union Hall at Bar Marco and I truly couldn't imagine hosting 68 of our closest friends and family at any other venue. The staff's hospitality and attentiveness was unmatched -- you could tell they were truly happy to celebrate our big day. Andrew's (their event point of contact) demeanor is so warm, inviting and accommodating, and unlike any "wedding venue" I've ever experienced. The food wasn't wedding food -- it was just BOMB food with simple, seasonal ingredients. Our guests still rave about it! The cocktails from Jason were also unmatched. Also unlike other venues, tables/chairs/linens/glassware/flatware/plates/etc were included in the price -- you're welcome to bring in your own custom items, but we found what they offered to be more than fine. Wish we could get married here 100 more times!

The Venue is beautiful. Hosted my daughter’s Baby Shower, 46 guests. The staff was wonderful to work with, very friendly. Brunch was delicious.

Wonderful pri fixe experience at Bar Marco. Best gnocchi I’ve ever had. The recommended house-made wine perfectly paired with our meal. Highly recommend the Bordeaux: very full bodied, dry, and delicate.

Dynamite restaurant. Great for a drink and a quick dinner or a full scale blowout dinner. Terrific wine list. Can go wrong with no pasta

Did the winery dinner in the basement. From the initial contact with Justine to walking through the kitchen and greeted by one of the chefs to Michael, our server/sommelier everything was great. The food and pairings were dynamite.

Came here for anniversary dinner. Great experience, and really impressed with the food. The outside seating is nice and doesn't feel overcrowded. First time, but should have been coming here for years. Will definitely be back.

Best brunch in a really long time. I'm not a sweet breakfast person, but couldn't stop eating the rest of my wife's leftover French toast. Bacon tasted like the best honey baked ham you've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked egg on the chicken milanese, and crispy enough to rival Korean fried chicken. Fantastic!

Amazing cocktail program, fantastic wine program. Italian inspired regional cooking. Low key spot, best date night in the city. And, they pay their servers salary, as it should be. $45 for two courses, not huge portions but enough to fill you up or to share with a date. Im so used to paying $45 for a single entrée anywhere comparable, let alone here where you get an appetizer and the tip is included in that. Best value price wise for this tier of dinning

Bar Marco is incredible! We went here after our engagement and reserved dinner in the wine room downstairs. The setup was perfect and the food was even better! Andrew, I’m not sure of his official position but he was also incredible in presenting the food and giving us the history of where it came from. Hands down the best food I’ve had in PGH. 12/10 recommend
