12th St S & Fife St

BEWARE! Dangerous intersection to cross! Yes there's a crosswalk but, Nobody stops when the crosswalk lights are clearly flashing. They just drive right through like it's not the same as running as red light (Legally, it is the same.). They look and see that you and your kids or dogs are crossing and just go anyways. It's amazing how often drivers just ignore the flashing lights, day or night. I don't think most people even know what those fishing lights mean. Yes there posted over a yellow diamond shaped warning sign with a crosswalk picture posted pretty damn clearly. Seems to me if they don't recognize street signs or take notice of flashing yellow lights they probably shouldn't be given a drivers license. I've seen many people hit by cars and even busses on this very corner. Honestly. I've been crossing this block since before I could walk and in 50 years I've never known more people or pets to get hit by cars on any block or especially in a crosswalk then they do on 13th and Fife street. No Joke!
If your crossing here be carefull please and don't expect drivers to just stop because they wont. I wish I could say something better and that it'd a safe place to cross but I would be lying. Be smart, Stay Safe?
