Golden China Restaurant

This was hands down the best Chinese restaurant. No other one fills the void this one has left for me and my family. Not only was the food good the staff was so nice. I hope they’re able to come back once the building is restored from the fire damage.

Golden China restaurant is a hidden gem in the Culver City area. Those who know about it frequented often, those who don't are missing out big time. They're open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., so it makes it a perfect spot for lunch dinner and everything in between. They not only have a full menu for those that eat pork chicken and beef, they also have a completely vegan menu you just have to ask for it if that's what you're looking for. We were shocked by how quickly the food was made, and how flavorful it was. For those of us that are health conscious it's a night it's nice to note that they do not use MSG in their food. It's a quintessential Los Angeles restaurant, brandishing graffiti on the glass, clean bathrooms, and old school elders cooking in the kitchen. It's also right across the street from a Ross and a Starbucks so you can get your coffee fixed and your shopping fix done right after lunch. Personally, my family and I chose items off the vegan menu and they were delectable. We started off with the Mongolian beef, Veggie Chow Mein, Vegan Orange Chicken, Fried Mushrooms and steamed Brown rice. We ate to our hearts content until there was nothing left but a remnant of sauce at the bottom of the plates. Definitely recommend for anyone itching for some authentic delicious Chinese food.

I hope this place reopens! Anybody know if they will? It was my favorite place for vegan Chinese food. The owner and staff was always kind and accommodating. I’m sad there was a fire next door that shut this place down.

The owner of the restaurant were really friendly. He turned on the heater for is and served is tea. We like to go there, and the food is delicious and worth the price.

I'm patiently waiting for them to reopen again. This is the only Chinese food place that I have trouble picking a dish because of the vast options for vegetarians. Last time I visited I had to ask for the veggie menu, but worth it. I am obsessed with the texture of their veg orange chickn, it could fool some into thinking its the real thing. The kung pow, tho lacking the chicken texture is just so delicious I always struggle to try new dishes as I love these so much. They're always quick and affordable. I was upset to hear about the fire in the strip. I hope they're back soon as I haven't found another place with the same options.

Super delighted to have found a Chinese restaurant that offers a hearty vegan menu selection just around the corner. For my first visit I ordered Vegetable Chow Mein and Sweet & Sour Chicken, both vegan of course. What a delight, the flavors of americanized Chinese food that I haven't experienced since gaining compassion.

Very well done if I may say so.

I will return again to try many more of their vegan offerings and will tell my friends!

Friendly, wonderful man who greeted us. Extensive menu, ordered what looked interesting and every dish turned out good! Good stop for when you’re craving Chinese food. Portion sizes aren’t the largest, family-style always. Would come back for vicinity (walking distance in Culver City) and good, friendly service-supporting a family business.

This is my best Chinese food vegan dining experience ever! I have been searching all over for a vegan general tso's chicken and they have it, and they do it just like I would get back in New york! Delicious!

This place was wonderful! I bin to a lot of Chinese restaurants and that was the most favorite one I like out of them. The food was fresh, and service was really nice, and the Thai milk tea or ice tea was so good, that I even had to take it with me! Definitely will come again and recommend this to other. What a good start to the day 😍 😄

I love Golden China! The food is delicious, delivery is fast and free, and the staff are very friendly and very accommodating.

I tried them for the first time while my mom was visiting from out of town and I've been hooked ever since!

My mother and I are both vegan, and she's gluten free, which can make finding a good restaurant a challenge. The folks at Golden China were very knowledgeable on the menu and were willing and able to answer all our questions, and even make a few modifications to suit our needs.

My mom has since returned home, but she's told me several times that Golden China will be our first stop when she's back.

I would highly recommend the soft tofu and eggplant hotpot - under the vegetarian chef's specials. My mom's favorite is the mock chicken and broccoli.

Really good Chinese restaurant. Food is fresh, always made perfectly, and made quickly.

They no longer do delivery, but you can Postmates or whatever. Prices are comparable for actual restaurants: not a precooked buffet style fast food place. But it's worth it.

This place is a warm and friendly environment. It is clean and well-maintained. The staff makes you feel very welcome. But I think the best of all is the food it is a very good tasting Chinese food. I have only found a few restaurants like this that have that very unique taste. I will be returning to this restaurant very soon highly recommended.

I love this place. Huge vegetarian men, but it's separate from the main menu, so you have to ask for it. Tofu ceramic hot pots are amazing. Also has classic greasy fare, if that is your preference. Remodeling is very nice atmosphere - much better than how it used to look. Is in a sketchy strip mall.

My boyfriend and I tried this place on Saturday for the first time. It was soooooo good! 😋😋 We had orange chicken and chow mein. The owner Jack was super welcoming and funny too! Definitely coming back to try their sweet n sour shrimp !

Fantastic!! I was heled by a man whom I presume to be the owner. He was very kind and my to go order was ready so fast I barely felt I even had to wait. The extra spicy I asked for sure was taken to dear heart as well. Best Beef+broccoli I have tasted in years!!!!

My boyfriend and I wanted to go out for a casual date night and decided to go to Golden China. Upon arrival, the owner immediately sat us and took our drink orders. The owner was very friendly and talked with us a bit about the food and we had a nice conversation. We ordered the Wor Wonton soup, the chicken chow mein, and the Mongolian beef (the last two dishes at a medium spice level). He quickly brought out the soup and served us; the bowl of soup was huge and the wontons had good flavor. It was very filling, and probably could’ve made a meal all on its own. The chow mein and Mongolian beef were very flavorful too, and the portions were large enough for both of us to have two servings at the restaurant and still take left overs home! Throughout the entire meal, the owner came back to check on us and chat briefly, and it really made us feel that our business was appreciated and we weren’t just another set of customers. To have good food from a local restaurant and feel like your business is appreciated is a rarity in LA, so we are definitely planning to go back soon! If you are looking for good, mom and pop Chinese food with great service, definitely come here! You won’t be disappointed!

Amazing vegan menu!

We just moved to Culver from Silverlake, and were having a bit of trouble finding good vegan options. Golden China came through!

We called to ask about the vegan options and the manager, Jack, was so knowledgeable and ready to help us out!

The food was delivered early, and was hot and amazing!!

Delicious, #1 Chinese cuisine. The service is GREAT! Makes you feel so welcome I have been going there over 10 yrs . We call it our family restaurant

One of the only Chinese food options in this part of town but it is the BEST. The owner Jack is so sweet—I pickup instead of have it delivered just to say hi.

I find the food here very good. Staff are very affectionate and try their best to accommodate everyone. Since they may not have an American accent, it may appear a bit confusing to communicate, but the staff do their best to explain and also understand in a genuine way.
