Harry Barbier Memorial Park

Great hike to start off from gold hill grade. There is parking at bottom of the hill and easy to get to. This is the back side of China camp and is about a 2.5 mile hike to get up to the top to the Nike missile site. There are a wide variety of trails in this location, but you can go over into China camp and explore some if you like. There is no signage on this side so use a trail guide app(I use alltrails).

Love this hike, up fairly wide, dirt fire-type ride. It's steep with switch backs as you get up higher. There are alternate smaller trails that branch off the main one, and you can't really get lost on those because the smaller trails go up or down the mountain and connect back to the main one. One you get to the top, there is a circular trail around the fenced antenna area. Met a fellow at the very top who let us know the antenna structures are now used for ham radio, but were prior used for land lines. Since now we are without true land land lines (and cell phones) when the power goes out, there is a movement now to create a backup system for communications. Very interesting. Great views up there!

You will either Love or Hate this hiking trail. It is a steep and long climb, border line rock climbing lol.
I learned the hard way DO NOT BRING KIDS HERE!!!

This place is no good. Stay away.
