Such a good experience ... ambiance, particularly music, lighting and decor when entering from outside was a nice start. Server has a cool vibe and support staff are super friendly. Food, wine and desert could not have been better, all set the stage for great discussions with our company and the best time. Loved it!

One of the best wine shops we’ve been into in the USA. Exceptional service, very well laid out store and a big range of natural/minimal intervention wines.

If you know you know. Amazing wine warehouse for West LA. Worth driving from further if needed. Also, try their INCREDIBLE restaurant on top. To say the arrival is underwhelming is an understatement. But the restaurant itself will surprise you. Beautiful. Incredible food. Great for a nice date night or business dinner (especially if you aren’t footing the bill ;-)).

Some say Wine House is the best wine/liquor store in Los Angeles. I don't disagree if you are looking for a very broad selection at fair prices.

Holy mackerel...This huge warehouse of a store has an astonishing selection. They have several, not just one or two Tua Rita selections. They even had other natural or biodynamic stuff I was looking for. Note they are only doing curbside pickup on street level. They do have parking. The pickup procedure went relatively smoothly. Wish they would do pick up at parking level as the street level entrance is RIGHT by a freeway entry point.

This wine store has a vast variety of wines and liquors to choose from. They have a parking lot that is on the roof and is free to customers. Their prices on wine are competitive but I would still check online for deals. They do have wines in stock but are not on their shelves in the store, so check their website and ask an associate for help at the store, But overall a good place for wines.

My favorite, and one of the best wine shops, in Los Angeles. The Wine House has the "neighborhood" vibe with an enormous, well-curated selection. Since discovering it 1.5 years ago, it's been my go-to shop. As I focus on Italian wine, Lance's newsletter is a must. I've gotten to taste gems from all 20 regions and from $9-90. The in-store events (once they return) are also a must-attend—an opportunity to meet producers, others passionate about wine, and taste.

For those looking to dive in deeper, I'd highly recommend WSET courses with Monica Marin who is an incredible instructor. I've taken her Level 1-2 courses and Bordeaux and Tequila classes.

Only a 15 min drive from Santa Monica. Right where the 10 meets the 405 :)

Wow is this place amazing. Giant selection, prices that are not crazy, and the staff is super knowledgeable, extremely helpful. And they buy collections, large cellars of older wines. Just fantastic! It's an amazing store staffed by wonderful people.

The food was gourmet, delicious, and perfectly prepared. Our group of 4 ordered baramundi, venison, and beef. Everyone loved their dishes. We ordered a few appetizers and sides that were also terrific. The service was excellent. As expected, there was a numerous selection of very interesting wines by the glass.

Winehouse has a huge selection of wine at very competitive prices. The store is well laid out and staff is very helpful, willing to answer questions without hovering. You can order online for pickup or browse in store and they have many hard to find bottles. There is plenty of parking on the upper floor behind the store. They have a pretty decent restaurant and wine bar as well.

If there's a better place to by good-to-high end European wine in LA, I can't conceive of it. Zero high pressure sales. Great selection. Pro staff.

Great parking. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I just tried a bottle of Prosecco that was recommended. Very reasonable prices.

This is a large and older wine store in West LA. My assessment is they do plenty of business with customers who can afford to pay for multiple bottles of very expensive wine. (Skip to the end to see the store’s most interesting and unique feature and which will explain my photos.)

If you’re looking for Grand Crus, Premier Crus, fine Barolos, or Grosses Gëwachs (GG) Riesling, I doubt you will be disappointed. More likely you’ll leave feeling envy/desire. If you are someone who wants natural or zero-zero wines, while they do sell such wines, and good ones at that, they are mostly not labeled as such, and you would need to know what you want or ask the right staff member to assist you. (They have made some attempts to put signs on natural wines in the Austria and German sections but it’s not consistent throughout the store—or even in those sections.)

But I think because they are so big and doubtless have significant long-standing relationships with importers/distributors as well as customers, they can afford to stock some unusual bottles that you would be hard-pressed to find at another LA wine store.

There are plenty of staff members around doing various things, but at least one made it clear that they could be called upon for anything. Another staff member was helpful when approached (although I can’t say they went the extra mile to figure out where multiple bottles of a certain wine had disappeared to. Eventually they said, “we suck,” but in a cheerful way. Later, I asked the more attentive staff member if they could suss out what had become of these bottles and they succeeded. 👍)

The back register is where the staff are when they’re not doing something on the floor. They all have little cluttered desks behind the counter. It’s very old-fashioned and rather charming. Also visible from here is a very dark and dramatic-looking store room where extremely expensive wines are kept and which you need approval to enter. But if you just want to grab something and go from the rest of the store, you can do that too as there is a check out in front with one young guy who probably doesn’t know much about wine but is happy to price up your purchases without fanfare.

I came here expressly for specific interesting low-intervention bottles from Austria, Slovenia, Greece, Hungary, and Germany listed on their website that I have not seen elsewhere in LA. I was not disappointed (their website seems largely well updated but no website is perfect and I found at least one significant example of that while here — but it was the best kind of imperfection because I got a bottle that they weren’t “supposed to” have.)

(Speaking of the website, If you are, like me, interested in such things, you should check out the staff pages on the site. Not all wine stores have such listings, but this one does, and the resumes of most of these people are very impressive.)

The store is by and large set up by region, but smaller regions/countries are not as well organized. Like many older wine stores, you can tell that originally the set-up was probably geared to Italy and France only. Those regions’ areas are organized by subregion and are clearly well attended to. They also sell liquor, beer, Belgian ale, Armagnac, liqueurs, sherry, port, etc; Coravin and pricey but lovely wine glasses; and, to my delight, Hans Reisetbauer’s eaux de vies: cherry, apricot, almond, and a fourth that I can’t recall.

There is parking on top of the store, thank god. Then you walk down to the wine shop on street level. (A 405 N on-ramp is right next to the store and if you time it right, you can exit the parking lot driveway and turn left and then get right on the ramp.)

SPECIAL & UNUSUAL FEATURE: In my photos are the lists of wines available that day to be tasted for a pretty reasonable fee (you put money on a little card at the back register) on some sort of automated wine dispensing machines. It’s a little room off the Italy section which looks like it would be great fun if one didn’t have to worry about driving—or if one is only going to taste and not swallow.
