Nijiya Market Sawtelle Store

One of my favorite Asian markets in the WLA Sawtelle area for groceries, fresh fish, sushi, and a big selection of bento box dishes to go that are prepared fresh daily in their in-store kitchen. Great to stock up on these items, so I don't have to cook all the time! Prices are so reasonable -- less than going to a restaurant, heat and eat on the go!

This place is the absolute best!! The sushi is surprisingly phenomenal. The sashimi cuts in the back are all excellent as well and you get an incredibly diverse selection of fish and seafood as well from conch and salmon to yellowtail and mackerel. The staff is also very friendly and this location is efficient and well run. Strawberry cake is also a must. 10/10

Found a hidden Gem! 💎 This is the only closest asian grocery store in West LA. Prices are good compared to Vons or some other stores if you were to get ingredients, condiments for Asian cuisine. 🍜

Sushi is made on premises and is quite fresh and well made. Customer service is excellent and atmosphere is very welcoming! If you haven’t tried this lovely location, please put it on your list of musts to do. You will not be disappointed!

Small but well stocked grocery store. They've some really great sushi meals too go as well as cooked dishes. The uni (sea urchin) package we got was ok, sweet but a hint of fishiness. It's really nice that they've got a sushi section with an open kitchen design. Protip: don't get the chirashi when they don't use sweet shrimp. Cherries were extremely pricy. The chutoro seemed more like toro

A small well stocked Japanese supermarket. They have a bit of everything: Fresh produce, fresh fish, to go snacks and entrees, candy, ice cream, detergent, and everything in between. The market is hence crammed to the gills, a bit of old timey charm.

The checkout, despite the long line goes by really fast. Try to resist the temptations of the snacks on both sides!

They have staff of different nationalities, hence if you have questions you can have someone answer them.

Love Nijiya Market! I always spend hours here. Always have to have lunch such as a Bento box, Mabo Tofu, Chicken Curry, or one of the various Sushi assortments. I like to buy various snacks such as Seaweed potato chips, or spicy rice crackers. Great selection of fresh vegetables, fresh fish and seafood, and wonderful chocolates and desserts. Love the colorful and playful packaging - always makes for a nice gift. Great prices on Sake. And the clincher is customer service is always friendly!

I have shopped here for years and they are consistently good. They may not have the same charm as the old mom-and-pop groceries that were on Sawtelle years ago, but their quality and organic offerings keep them on my 'yes' list. Their prepared sushi is the best I have found. Lots of ingredients are available here that you won't find at other groceries.

Fresh sushi grade fish with lots of options!! Come here if you want an array of amazing quality sushi grade sashimi. Everything from toro, hamachi, kampachi, sweet ebi and more. Great prepared sushi and onigiri as well. See some dishes I made from the salmon and scallop sashimi. 10/10 highly recommend.

We always get excited when we go to this market. Lots of japanese product. And when it's Japanese, you know that its good quality products. Even their cup noodles are better. I can sew scrambled eggs, shrimps and some vegetables in it. They have ready packed sushi and sashimi plates, onigiri, instant soup bowls, chocolates, candies and also rwady cooked meals. Awesome marketplace.

Great store for fresh made Japanese food

Amazing Asian grocery on Sawtelle. I enjoy the sushi that they make fresh every day and all the imported snacks/frozen goods. Sushi rolls are all less than $11 and are a great option for a quick lunch or dinner.

Products are quality and not so expensive as in Japanese supermarkets as Marukai.
Savory and sweet snacks, bakery, frozen foods, fresh druits and vegetables, fuzzy drinks, yogurts, tea and coffee, sushi.

Love their deli & sashimi. Of course, I end up buying too much Japanese snacks every time I come here. 1-hr free parking underneath in the parking structure with $10+ purchase.

We always love going to the Japanese Market! Sushi and Poki is always freshly made, so many goodies here for consumption. This whole Little Osaka is a Great Blessing and Always a Great Area to Visit. 🇯🇵🇺🇸🙏🏻🕊

Well managed, small Japanese store that’s open late. I like this place for a quick fix when needed. The prepared food items are fresh and authentic. Not the best Japanese market in LA, (that’s Marukai Market in DTLA) but a very solid and reliable little store.

Love this place! Whenever I’m in the mood for Japanese fare(and a lot of it)I come here. Being able to make some of my favorite dishes at home is one of my favorite things to do and this store has everything I need to do just that!

Great market to get freshly made bento box for lunch or dinner. Fresh Sashimi grade fish and if you're lucky enough you will find Japanese A5 Wagyu Sirloin from Japanese.

Been coming here for more than 13 years, and i absolutely love it!!! Love the spicy tuna bowl!!!
