The Anza A Calabasas Hotel

Nice hotel in Calabasas, stayed here a couple of nights with friends when wanting a break from LA. It’s relaxing, Malibu is a quick ride down Mulholland highway.

The rooms and the hotel itself feel so elevated! It's definitely a boutique experience. The ground floor can get noisy with people walking above your room. For the most part, all concerns were dealt with very quickly. Wished the cafe was actually open during posted hours as it was one of our reasons for booking. But staff was remarkable, friendly, and always willing to help.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms are very clean and quiet. The location is also within walking distance to everything that you need.

Very clean and serene, with matching decor. Somehow the hallways remind me of a cruise ship with the nautical style light fixtures and color palette.

Our rooms were spacious with a cute sitting area, small dining table, and coffee bar with microwave & fridge! There was some noise from the room above us, but overall very quiet on our floor. Very friendly and professional front & back house staff. Will definitely return & recommend to others.

In town to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The room was comfortable and the staff was very inviting. They made the stay a wonderful experience. They brought wine and snacks to our room which was surprising. Plus, the hotel is in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We very much enjoyed ourselves. ❤🦋🌴🤗

The entire place was clean, up to date, friendly, and perfectly located in the heart of Calabasas. Restaurants within walking distance and a beautiful town to wander in.

The rooms are spacious, clean and the hotel is well kept. The bed is massive and actually comfortable!

I am about to check out from the the Anza hotel, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The staff, from housekeeping to the cafe, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The open seating area was a delightful space, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were impressively spacious and well-designed, with a variety of amenities including a couch and a table.

In terms of the room, I love the room, but I do have an issue with how much space they have between the floor and the door. There’s about an inch to a half an inch of available space, and it lets in all of the light from the hallway. So even if you have or want to have a pitch black room that in itself, makes it impossible. Aside from that, because of that space, you can hear everything that goes on outside. You can hear every door that closes every door that locks and everybody that walks by if they’re not being quiet. They also have a joining rooms, so unfortunately, that means that you may hear the noise, like I did, of the people that are next to you. Luckily, I only heard a noise one of the nights that I was there, I also just so happen to be staying on a weekday versus a weekend.

Another minor issue I encountered during my stay was with the shower doors in the room. This would prevent me from staying here in the future because it seems to be a new theme at a lot of different places. The hotel opted for half door instead of full shower doors which left me cold while showering. While it didn't impact the overall experience significantly, I personally find shower doors to be more preferable as they prevent the floor from becoming slippery and wet, and they provide a better showering experience without the interference of a breeze.

Aside from this small issue, the overall cleanliness of the building was spectacular, and the pool, although small, was well-maintained and clean. Since it's not summer, there weren't many people using the pool during my visit. However, I found the room experience to be the highlight. The space and thoughtful design impressed me.

One great perk was the complimentary breakfast at the on-site cafe/coffee shop, which I believe was included with the room. The affordability of the Anza hotel compared to other options was also a major plus. They do charge $15 for overnight parking, but alternatively, you can park for free on the street for up to two hours between 7 am and 6 pm.

All in all, I had an great experience at the Anza hotel. I truly wish there were more hotels like this one, in more locations at this rate.

Oh, it’s also close to so many things. You don’t even really have to go far to find what you need.

I stayed here 10 days, location was good, parking place for cars, rooms where clean and big, I really liked it!

Excellent location! Easy freeway access, shopping and dining within walking distance. A couple minor hiccups, but the hotel definitely took care of me. Staff was very friendly. Food in the coffee shop is excellent. Only two minor things that bothered me, no shower door and the sheets on the bed were ripped/didn’t fit properly. Very clean!!! Loved it and definitely would stay again.

This hotel is absolutely worth booking if you are in the area, it's very nice looking (renovated with taste and cool features) has a heated pool, absolutely clean. Check-in was great and hotel management goes beyond expectations to make my stay enjoyable.

We had a great stay! Warm welcome from the front desk staff upon our arrival. The hotel itself is very clean and located in a great walkable part of town. Our room was spacious, clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I’m typically very picky about my accommodations; even then, I have no complaints. We will definitely be back!

Our experience was fantastic, very clean rooms and stuff was proffessional and helpfull as well. Great place for families and kids. We will come back.

I’ve stayed at the Anza several times when in town for work. Service has always been great but was exceptional this time! Griffin, Stefanía, and Jeff were all welcoming, professional, and delightful! I was considering looking at other options in the area but after their stellar service, I shall return! Thank you!

The rooms were very clean and I really liked the openness of the room floor plan. The bed was comfortable and I liked that there was a mini fridge and microwave. The only issue I had with the room was the shower door situation. There is a fixed glass barrier that does not slide and leaves one side of the walk in shower completely open. Water easily splashes out but they luckily give you a heavy duty absorbable floor mat. Other than that, I had a great and comfortable stay. I would love to come back and stay next time I'm in the area.

As we know, all businesses can have problems but I have always felt it's not what the problem is but how the business responds to the problem. I experienced a problem at the Anza last month and the front office staff and maintenance person who tried to solve the problem were outstanding. The front office manager was on the phone with me within a couple days and was gracious with a solution to the problem that I was pleased with. I highly recommend The Anza for your next stay.

Anza is in the heart of 'downtown' Calabasas. It's clean, comfortable & accommodating. Plus, walking distance to some superb restaurants, cafes and shops. As well as the Calabasas Farmers market. The only ding is the north side faces the freeway so although the windows are triple-pane, you still get the drone of freeway traffic. They have an adorable robot that delivers anything you might need to your room in minutes. My only complaint to management is the sky-high price they charge for waters. Both in-room and at the sundry store: $7 a pop for a small bottle! Ridiculous. C'mon guys. It's water. So... unless you want to bleed your credit card on Anza's water, bring your own water bottles. Also, they don't offer recycling. We took all our recycling w us. Sort of annoying.

The rooms where spacious, and had big TV as well. Most important of all nobody bothered me, and when I first checked the inn keeper was very friendly, and more than willing to assist in whatever way. He did a little bit of homework and knew it was my first time staying there. Also the rooms where reasonable priced and clean. Would definitely stay again if the need arises.

The rooms in this hotel are very big. Really noce and spacious. Things in the gym were out of order so I couldn't utilize it. Parking at night might be an issue as space is a bit limited. But there's a huge shopping complex in the area, so one could get away with parking there if push comes to shove. The hotel is walking distance to so many shops, restaurants, pamper/spa services, cafes, movie theaters, and snack/sweets shops. The surrounding area might be a bit difficult to get a good long run around though. Most of the wide open roads are dead-ended by gated communities. Many, many, many gated communities. This is why I really wanted to use that gym! However, for short runs or walks, the area is absolutely gorgeous. There are even hiking areas too! I'll definitely stay at this hotel again!
