We were here for a Pretty Gritty Tour and it was fantastic, we highly recommend these tours! What an incredible story about the area and history of how Ft. Steilacoom played a part in that mystery.

I love this park! There's so much to do here! Lots of walking trails, a beautiful lake, 2 dog parks, a children's play area, soccer and baseball fields, rental pavilions for parties, cooking grills, RC flying area, bike trails, historic monuments, amazing views, and lots of events.

The best park for a long way. Awesome for a light walk, a moderate hike, or a quiet sit. There are plenty of places to find peace and quiet and a couple spots to get a nice view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day. The playground is amazing and offers hours of fun for kiddos and there's a nice dog park. There are pieces of history to view from the old Western State hospital. And, best of all, unlike so many of the other parks in Pierce County, they have pretty much kept the homeless junkies out of this park and you can still leave your car parked while you take a walk without fear of your car getting stolen or windows smashed out. For now, anyway

Love this park! I’m there daily at the dog park very early and then on the trails. Many folks don’t realize the multitude of trail options up in the hills. It feels like a world away from the hustle of Lakewood.

Just wish the bathrooms opened before 7am :-)

I love coming here to watch the ducks and birds. There is a lot of trails you can do also. It’s a great walk and just nice to listen the birds, owls and occasionally bull frogs making noise. They have a dog run for and playground for the kids. Great place for a picnic and gatherings.

Great minds think alike my daughter and I took her dogs to the dog park where we met Lizzy and her baby puppy Oakly. Not only did the dogs have a blast the owners and dog grammy got to enjoy, exercise and meet each other. Thank you Fort Steilacoom Park for meeting new dog lovers and friends ❤ #doglove

My dog's favorite park. Lots of different dogs on any time of a day you go. Best dog place so far in Washington out of all the other one that I've been.

So much to discover here... so many trails, hills, water, open areas. Dog park, picnic areas, ball field, kids play area, bathrooms, soccer area, place to fly your kite, ride bikes, skate. Large parking areas, Fridays farmers market and drive in movie during the summer, beautiful.

Lovely park! Something for everyone. Playground, dog park, baseball & soccer fields, a radio controlled place for planes or drones & covered shelters for picnics. Beyond this park is a walking trail around Waughop Lake. The trail is paved & is a mile round trip. It’s level & very ADA & kid friendly. Lots of parking spaces too.

Always an awesome local park regardless of visiting weekdays or weekends as it is so vast it's rarely if ever crowded. We like taking our dogs and riding our bicycles during the autumn to enjoy the fall colors. We Also own a photography business and our clients love shooting their family and HS Senior portraits there!

Love this place! You can walk through fields or woods. You can walk along a paved pathe around the lake. You can even fish or swim in the lake. My dog loves roaming through the brambles in the large off leash park. It's close to home and I'm there at least 6 times a week.

Great place, no, THE place to take a walk, jog or bird watch. Enclosed dog park included. Lovely for family gatherings, kids parties with fun things to climb on. One of my absolute favorite places to visit.

This place was really cool. Went here for the first time. I guess it's a very popular place for photographers for portraits. Saw so many of them trying to go for the same spot. It was weird looking to me. I loved all the trails though.

Its a great big park, with trails that are great for someone just starting out and more trails to work up to as you become stronger, small lake with benches, and a dog park. Plus a whole lot more. Love it

I've only visited for the dog park, and my dog loves it! There are three different fenced in dog parks with one for very small dogs that is fairly small, and two larger parks that are quite large. The larger park furthest from the parking lot is the largest and has room for a small walking trail and a small obstacle course. All dog parks are fairly well maintained as well which is nice. Included in this review is a panoramic picture of one part of the dog park, and an obligatory picture of my dog.

I live here and I know how lucky we are to be next to the largest dog park ever! There is a great playground for big and little kids alike. Parents like to play too! The lake has a nice paved walkway with plenty of benches for resting.
