This is such a lovely, relaxing place to visit.
I am always greeted warmly and offered help.
Wandering and yarn petting are encouraged, as is asking questions.
Rainy Day offers a wonderful selection of locally dyed yarns, as well as commercial staples.
Their needles & notions selection is extensive, as is the collection of single & double ball wooden yarn spindles.
The most desired additions to my wish list however, are the amazing bags - locally handmade by a mother and daughter team. Each one is truly unique, and truly covet-worthy.

Made a quick stop to Rainy Day while I’m in Washington and wanted some hand-dyed yarn as a souvenir. And it was the perfect spot for that since the store itself sells its own hand dyed yarn. The woman who helped me was one of the store owners and fellow Texan. She was incredibly helpful and super kind. I got their Suri Silk Cloud in Storm Clouds, a Bees Knees reusable candle, a blocking needle set, and a couple cute little stitch markers. Definitely want to return whenever I’m in Washington state.

OH MY GOODNESS, this is the best yarn store I have ever been to and I've been knitting for 60 years! The yarn is either carefully purchased or hand dyed by Sherri or her sister. The yarn never stays long in the shop-it sells quickly so make sure you buy enough for your project. In addition to their hand dyed yarn and other hand dyers yarn, they have a lot of choices for yarn produced elsewhere that has been specially chosen for quality. Not just wool but also so many different types of fiber and special yarn for babies!! Since Sherri knits all the time and also designs patterns, her knowledge is exceptional.
The service is amazing because it is owned and run by the same ladies. They have great classes and other merchandise. And special events-so much fun!!!

Amazing yarn shop in the super-sweet chic waterfront area! Fabulous selection of fibers plus accessories and gifts from local artisans, VERY friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and inviting area to relax, also a customer bathroom. Stop by for a visit, you'll be glad you did!

A sweet and welcoming little local yarn shop, but don't let the size fool you! In spite of it's small footprint, there is an amazing selection of yarns - both local and international - packed inside, neatly arranged alongside a wonderful selection of needles & tools (and great prices too.)
There is even a seating area to sit & knit or crochet; everyone - staff & customers alike - is friendly and engaged.
This shop is miles & miles from my home (I wish I had time to go join in the fun of their group get-togethers) but it is definitely worth the drive.

Love this local yarn shop! Very comfortable inside and the staff is friendly. They offer in store events and classes and they have a great selection of specialty yarns. The owner hand dyes yarn as well. Super helpful if you have a question and priced fairly as well. Lots of patterns to choose from, as well as supplies such as stitch markers, yarn needles, gift tags, etc. They also wind yarn hanks purchased in the store for free. Excellent shop!

I love this shop! I've been fortunate to experience yarn shops all over the western US. I have worked in many. It this is by far the chillest and relaxing place to date. Everyone there is so nice, friendly, and eager to help! Don't miss this place. Her selection of yarns are delightful for any fiber enthusiast and a lot of them come from local spinners and dyers. You can find something no matter how small your budget!

Super helpful, great selection, and everyone was so kind! I'm a beginner and felt very welcome and got so much help with my projects. They even ordered more yarn for me when I ran out. Will definitely be back again, both times have been wonderful.

Shopped at this stellar shop today and had a lovely experience!! Excellent yarn selection! When visiting a lys on vacation, I especially love to look for yarns that are indigenous to the area and this store has a beautiful selection of locally dyed and sourced yarns. Sheri, the yarn shop owner is very helpful and knowledgeable! Plan to visit again before my vacation ends 😄

Rainy Day Yarns is a ray of sunshine in Gig Harbor! The owner, Sherri, is so friendly and sweet. My mom and I are visiting the area from Tampa, Florida, and always love to visit local yarn shops wherever we travel. The selection of yarns here is incredible - lots of color and quite a bit of locally dyed and crafted yarns. Sherri is a wonderful knitter and pointed us in the right direction to both the pattern and yarn for a sock she had on display. Couldn't be happier with my purchase from Rainy Day! My only regrets are that I don't live closer... and that I didn't buy more! Thank you, Sherri!!

What a beautiful shop with incredible service. Sherri spent over an hour with me helping correct a major mistake I made on a large project. I’m back on track ( vs ripping out 6 weeks of work). The new space is light filled and the yarn selection outstanding. Thank you!!

Great customer service, helped my partner and I pick out yarn for a scarf they asked for. Staff were able to identify the popular pattern on sight, pull the yarn requirements from Ravelry, and apparently I could have paid for it there, too! In addition to various LYS staples also had skeins from local hand dyers including mini skeins dyed by the owner of the shop! I look forward to passing through Gig Harbor again :)

Love going here! They have the coolest selections and the staff are amazing and knowledgeable. They're always willing to help! I love knitting in the sitting area! It's one of my favorite places to be!
