Monterey Crepe Co

if you've had a crepes in France, you'll want to eat at this place. It is not a fancy restaurant, just a simple creperie, cafe
they have sweet and savory crepes. If you are in Monterey, definitely make it a stop

Have eaten here three times, and was happy with the experience in all cases. It's a pleasant and modest setting, and is clearly a small family-run type of business. Great stop if they're not too busy, but they haven't the seating or the facilities to handle crowds. Fortunately it's right on Cannery Row, so if you're starving to death and they're busy you can always go somewhere else. Biggest annoyance is being cash only (ATM on-site will charge a $2 fee, naturally). They need to get themselves Square on Mobile asap.

I work down on the row so local stops for lunch are a must. This place always hits the spot. The food is simple but good. Their sourdough is the bomb, just like my mom used to make. Pricey but good. You will never hate your meal.

Great crepes, like in Paris :)

Service was decently quick (they were pretty empty when we went), seating is weird (has small upstairs and limited downstairs seating on cheapy tables), prices are pretty high, but the crepes are delicious. Not sure where else to get a decent crepe other than The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz... Would not go here again. Prices don't justify cheapness of experience.

- Guy at cash register was polite and smiley.
- Cash-only policy is kinda annoying.
- "Johnny" crepe was delicious... just the right combination of melty cheese, grilled onions, and spinach.
- The sweet crepe (I think it might have been the "Monterey") was okay, kinda dry. Not enough Nutella, though decent amounts of coconut and banana.
- The actual crepes (aside from the filling)... okay. Not great, not bad.
- We were seriously skimped when requesting a scoop of ice cream on the side of the sweet crepe. As my friend noted, it was more like a "quarter-scoop." Or, by European standards, a half-scoop or "kiddie scoop." :( The flavor (Caramel Crunch) was absolutely delicious, though.
- Prices: slightly above you'd expect with your typical crepe place, particularly given that our savory crepe didn't come with potatoes or a salad (like I'm used to with local Bay Area crepe places like Crepe Vine).. I think each crepe was around $7.

The service was terribly slow, and there were fruit flies all over the bananas. Crepes where largw but expensive, and the Nutella one the kids had was hard as a rock. Cash only is kinda annoying too. The two women working were nice, but we won't be going back.
