Great hotel, lovely staff. Breakfast was great! Location was helpful. No complaints (:
Only photo I have is the outside hallway on the 3rd floor.
Also, this is your sign to go skydive! It's close to this hotel(:

Convenient locations just off highway, no noticeable noise, ask for room facing lake area for decent view. Parking lot from Chilli's bit noisy at night though. Standard breakfast (cheese omelets, pork sausages, fruits, yoghurts) with good coffee. Rooms were clean.

We had an incredible visit in Monterey, CA starting with being serviced through Ashley Moli. Her service and thoughtfulness were remarkable. We returned to stay the following day due to her customer service, hotel's comfortable accommodations and incredible breakfast. We will return upon returning to Monterey. Thank you, Ashley for your impeccable customer service.

good location, great breakfast, been staying here about 5 times a year for the past 10 years. Lagoon right beside the hotel with many different birds and wildlife. You can feed the geese and ducks, they come up to you. There's a 1 mile walking circle around the hotel. Average temperature is around 62 degrees all year long. Bring you sweater or coat even in the summer time.

The rooms were nice, breakfast was delicious, and the location is great - next to an In-N-Out and a Chilis! Plus, you can take a little walk by the pond. The only issue I had was that hotel staff tried to enter my room around 8am (several hours before checkout) even though I had a “do not disturb” sign on my door.

Relaxing and clean room for the weekend. Hot morning breakfast included with stay. Walking distance to the beach or drive to downtown Monterey. We enjoyed our weekend getaway.

Our stay here was perfect. Check-in was fast and easy--a rare thing in my experience of hotels-- and our room was close to the elevator and had a lovely view of Roberts Lake (which has a nice walking path around it). The room was perfectly clean, cozy, and welcoming. Every member of the staff we encountered, housekeeping, maintenance, and hospitality, was easy going, friendly and approachable. My daughter loved the pancake printer in the breakfast room and I was charmed by the rookery of cypress trees around the parking lot and very much enjoyed watching the crows come home for the night. Getting everywhere from there was super easy, too. We went to the Fish House for an excellent dinner, which was on the list of restaurants provided by the hotel staff, Sand Beach after to watch the sunset, and then zipped to the downtown east parking garage in the morning to catch the free trolley to the aquarium. I think the hotel location, just inside the city limits of Seaside, made it less expensive than similar places within Monterey but no less convenient. One note: if you want the view of Roberts Lake from your room it's a trade off with some traffic noise from DelMonte Boulevard. Worth it to me but you might want earplugs. :)

We got a chance to use this holiday inn because we booked for Monterey Bay aquarium. They are only 9 minutes away. The first gentleman we dealt with worked the graveyard shift. He went over and beyond to accommodate us. He had excellent customer service skills! Our second contact was Anita and she too was fantastic. She provided us with recomedations for local places to visit and was happy to help us.

Our room was pleasantly modern and included great amenities. The rooms came with a Kurig machine, full sized bottles of JR Watkins Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. We also got single use makeup remover towelettes, shoe shine, and travel sized JR Watkins lotion. There were plenty of extra clean towels too. The room was clean and well stocked.

They also have complementary breakfast with biscuits, gravy, eggs, toast muffins, bagels, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, juice -the whole nine yards!

This establishment is the only place I will go, when I come to the aquarium -from here on out. I highly recommend this Holiday Inn. And thank you for the excellent hospitality!

I recently stayed here with my family in the middle of the week, so I can’t speak on weekend activities at this location. After reading some of the recent reviews, I started having second thoughts about whether I picked the right place for us. However, we quite enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn Express.

It’s conveniently close to the Bay Aquarium, Wharf and Cannery Row. Del Monte Beach is free if you can find parking and only a few minutes away. The hotel is also walking distance to In and Out and Chili’s restaurants.

The neighboring Laguna Grande Park had a nice walking path, plenty of docks along the pond, ducks and geese, and two playgrounds which was great for the kiddos. Yes, there is a homeless presence, specifically in the neighboring parking lot between the hotel and Chili’s. However, this is not the hotel’s fault. To all you folks who seemed irked by this- Welcome to California.

The free continental breakfast was satisfying with the typical daily choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, cereal, coffee, an assortment of juices. The eating area was clean and well maintained by the friendly staff.

It wasn’t particularly noisy when we were there other than some road construction across the street. There were some folks chatting away at the top of their lungs in the pool area one night, which is why we bring earplugs for whenever we travel. But honestly, we didn’t even need them.

I’d say the only annoying thing we experienced was our card key suddenly stopped working one evening, which the office staff fixed right away.

Overall, we will definitely be staying at this Holiday Inn Express location in the future. For those who expect a Four Seasons type of experience, you need to lower your expectations by hundreds of dollars per night. For people like us, it was perfect place considering the high cost of everything else in the Monterey area.

I liked this place. The beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. The toiletries were nice. The whole place was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfast and the room it was in had 6 TV screens to stare at! The food choice was good and we had plenty. There was fresh coffee available at all times and more in the room. Take your earplugs though, you will need them. There are honky geese and the rooms are set on outside corridors.

One night stay in January 2023. Two adults on 5th floor with easy elevator access. Parking lot is fairly large.

Good location for sightseeing Monterey and Pacific Grove.

Del Monte side with traffic noise, but a pretty view of the ocean in the distance. Opposite side of the building is also beautiful with a lake view.

Exterior facing room, no balcony.
Room with 2 full sized beds, mini fridge, mini microwave, and a Keurig.
Bathtub has Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on the wall. Sink area has hand wash (soap) and body lotion mounted to the wall. Perhaps 3 sets of towels.

Shower water wasn't very warm and water pressure was lower than we hoped.
There was also a pair of men's boxers in the bathroom when we arrived, behind the door. I moved it into the trash outside.

The temperature control is in the room, which adds to the noise level. The street noise was also rather high. Best to bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to loud sounds.

I didn't try to enter the pool area, but it looked neat.

Breakfast is downstairs, behind the lobby area. A larger variety than some HIEx I've been to, with a working pancake machine. Fresh fruit (apples and oranges), oatmeal, cereals in dispensers. Cinnamon rolls, muffins, sliced breads, bagels, and English muffins. Peanut butter, jellies, and honey packets. Hot foods: biscuits with (meat) gravy, turkey patties, pork sausages, scrambled eggs. Fridge with hard-boiled eggs and yogurt. Juices: apple, cranberry, and orange.

Coffee is hot, with both regular and decaf available. Hot chocolate packets available, but hot water was often empty.

Great location and decent room rates. It does throw you off though, all the rooms have outdoor entrances, that's a first for me with HIE. The gym was decent size, breakfast was good, and they had a little more than typical.

We only stayed for 1 night while passing through Monterey, but our experience was great. Check-in was fast. They offer complimentary parking and also a complimentary full breakfast in the mornings. The room was clean and it was spacious. We had a great stay!

I enjoyed my stay here back in October. The room was nice and clean. The business center had a lot available (sticky notes, paper clips, staplers, colored paper, different types of folders etc.). The printers actually worked and printed in color! Breakfast selection was good as well. I was also able to walk somewhere for dinner (Googie Grill). My stay was quick so I didn't get to experience the hotel/area for more than one night but I will definitely be staying here whenever I am back for work.
