InterContinental the Clement Monterey, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I just celebrated his 40th birthday here. Everything was phenomenal. There was a miscommunication between what room our travel agent booked and what room we were wanting. Despite it being President's day weekend, and them being completely slammed and sold out the front desk staff was able to accommodate our requests. We were so grateful.

The C restaurant on the property is very special. It is a really beautiful restaurant. All of the staff that works there is beyond friendly. Luis and David behind were behind the bar each night ready to greet us and make our favorite cocktails.

The location is in the heart of Canary Row. There is so much to do within walking distance. This little slice of heaven will be cherished forever!

Excellent location and Hotel. My wife and daughter love coming to the Intercontinental. The hotel staff provided great service. Also, Christian helped us take our luggage to the room and gave us a rundown of the area and amenities. He told us about a shortcut to get down to Cannery Row from our room instead of having to cross the bridge. Great job Christian and Intercontinental team. We will recommend this hotel to all of our family and friends visiting the Monterey Area.

We've always wanted to stay here and finally did! We were upgraded to a king patio room, which was spacious and had wonderful outdoor seating/lounging and a table and chairs. Thick robes to slide on, a frig full of goodies ($$) if you just had to have something, plenty of plugs & outlets, a lovely bonsai tree and tabletop mini zen garden! Extremely clean bathroom with separate curved tub and glass shower. We love being able to connect our device so easily to the tv. Casually elegant lobby and phenomenal outside patio & firepits. My favorite "treat" was finding the back staircase that led to the most soothing "underwater" experience of light & sound. Can't wait to come back!

Summary: cozy and quiet room, friendly staff and nice location.

We stayed for 4 nights, and booked a standard king room. The room was nice and quiet, and the front desk lady was very friendly. I want to call out specially that this hotel provides 2 reusable bottles, and the water machine is easy to access (next to elevator), which is earth friendly.

The only issue is the expensive parking (>$40 per night), but there are multiple options if you are willing to walk for 5min.

The Intercontinental is the only place we stay in Monterey. The location is ideal. When we arrive, we park the car and walk everywhere. The hotel is on the water, is a 1-minute walk from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and an easy walk just about everywhere you'd want to go... restaurants, shops, the pier, etc.
Food at the hotel is good, both room service and the restaurant. The rooms are big and clean, though feel a little dated. The chairs on the lobby level, inside and especially outside, are wonderful for relaxing and enjoying the sea breeze. There is a darling little convenience/gift shop in the lobby next to the front desk.
They have valet and self-parking. I prefer self-parking; it's a breeze. The hotel room rates have doubled in the last three years, and most rooms don't have a nice view. I'm finding the same with any hotel these days, but it's still upsetting because it feels like we're paying the price for revenue lost during the pandemic.
The hotel has a jacuzzi and the tiniest sliver of pool I've ever seen. If swimming is important to you, this isn't the hotel for that.

This was our second stay at the InterContinental. We stayed in room 333 which has one king bed, no fireplace, no balcony, and faces Cannery Row. We absolutely love this hotel; it is clean and beautiful. Its location is fantastic (right in the middle of Cannery Row). The last time we were here, we were allowed to take the luggage cart to our room. This time, however, we were told that a bellman MUST accompany the luggage cart. We highly recommend staying at this hotel if you don't mind paying the high prices. I think it's worth it.

I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to the front desk person named John! My gf and I stayed here the night after our engagement, not only did he send us a card signed by all the employees congratulating us, he sent champagne! It made our night so special and memorable. Thank you again for making this a great trip for us and providing us amazing customer service. <3

Fantastic hotel in prime location.
Very friendly staff. Everyone is really welcoming and kind. The rooms are big, clean and have super comfortable beds. The fire place in the room was a plus.
The spa is also super nice. It has a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
I spent my birthday at the hotel and can absolutely recommend the hotel :)

A classy hotel located right next to the Monterey Bay and directly on the famous Monterey Bay Cannerey Row. This hotel offers a restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner, meeting rooms, large indoor and outdoor lobby areas with a fireplace, valet parking, close proximity to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, shops, and several restaurants. The rooms were on the smaller side but very cozy and comfortable. Soft linens, upscale toiletries, in room coffee and tea, water bottles for filtered water, laundry service, and in room robes were all provided. We were able to score an upgraded ocean view room due to the IHG status and availability at check in. Front desk staff were welcoming, helpful, and professional. There is a concierge on site.

Stayed here for the ATT Pro-Am at pebble beach and to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, Josh at the front desk was absolutely amazing. He answered all of our questions easily and with a smile. In a world where customer service is going down the drain Josh L was a breath of fresh air, where he’s happy to go above and beyond for customers. I loved that the hot tub was open until a decent hour, I went and got in it in the pouring rain and it was absolutely amazing. The room and hotel staff were amazing. It more surprised me that everyone was so polite and wonderful except our waitress at breakfast, maybe it was an off day for her but I ended up having to drink someone else’s water at the table because I couldn’t get a refill on my water if my life depended on it. (Never got one refill) Besides that the food and environment at breakfast was amazing. This was my first time visiting Monterey and I can’t wait to come back and stay here again.

The location is fantastic, literally a two minute walk from the aquarium and all the little cute shops on Cannery Row. The rooms themselves are clean, updated. Staff and valet were all very efficient, professional. It is pricey but from what all I saw, one of the best hotels in the area. Would come back.

We stayed at the hotel last weekend and had an absolute amazing trip. It was probably the nicest hotel room we ever stayed in the US, the location is stunning with beautiful views of the ocean, and the service was great. If our schedule would have allowed it, we would have extended right away.
One advice: take an ocean view room, it's so worth the money!

Beautiful place to stay. Make sure you get an ocean view suite. It makes stay that much more pleasant. Even if you dnt it's still the place to stay, if ever, in Monterey, Ca.

I don't know if we can stay anywhere else. The service was wonderful, the breakfast in bed was tasty, and the location is perfect. Just steps away from the aquarium, shops, restaurants, and the beach.

It is in the middle of downtown, close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The room is significant, and the sheets and mattress are comfortable. The room view is excellent, too. Many restaurants are walkable.

While visiting the enchanting Cannery Row, we stopped in at the InterContinental's C Restaurant + Bar for what turned out to be a surprising delight. Not limited to hotel guests, the C Restaurant + Bar offers the discerning passerby some of the best oysters, calamari, and clam chowder in the area while the floor-to-ceiling windows offer panaramic views of the Monterey Bay.

The curated menu, though modest in selection, presents an array that ranges from the standard Monterey Bay fare to duck confit and a classic cheeseburger. For those interested in sharing a quick bite, the Monterey Bay Calamari proved to be an exquisite and delectabke choice generously portioned for two.

The service is a excellent!  We spoke with the bar tender about the local beer of draft and spoke with one of the chefs to learn more about the wild mushrooms on the menu - learning that they are delivered daily and meticulously cleaned by hand in the hotel's kitchen.

Amidst the rhythmic hustle of Cannery Row, the C Restaurant + Bar evades the attention of tourists merely footsteps away and offers a calming sanctuary for epicurean enthusiasts.

Great location, great restaurants, great rooms, and great service. We had a fantastic time in Monterey and mostly thanks for the hotel. Super recommended.

The hotel was beautiful, rooms were nice, service was excellent. Would definitely visit again. Nice location. Many restaurants within walking distance and one in the hotel.

is perfect, it’s right in the heart of Cannery Row, with lots of restaurants and shops near by. The room very clean, and spacious. I highly recommend, and will be sure to come back next time I am in town.

Great hotel! Close to all the major places and a deck area that's one of the best!!
